I highly doubt this is accurate. 2048 will be one of the biggest selling points of the Vita, why would Sony release it on the PS3 so soon after the Vita's release?

was thinking about this today about the whole live area thing. why would they put so much effort into making all the live-area things for the wipeout startup (including icons, extra content for near .etc) when they're just gunna make a ps3 version that will require even more work and wont be possible to include the extra content from near...

I sincerely doubt that there will EVER be a ps3 version and (at the very least it will be available 2/3 years down the line as a game that will work across both platforms with pick-up and play)
Online retailers make mistakes and at the moment if you check alot of them they dont yet have a section dedicated to the psvita (case in point: amazon.co.uk) as a result they just put the games under the header of either psp or ps3 (proved here)

until any concrete information is found I wouldnt get your hopes up... just be excited we're getting ANY wipeout games!

must be a mistake considering zavvi arent even on the list of pre-order retailers listed on the latest psvita inside email. If they were in the know surely they would have been chosen as one of the retailers by sony...

I remember sony once said that Wipeout was good as a launch title.
I think the next console game will be for the PS4's release or shortly after.
But i have my fingers crossed for a PS3 version of 2048 or an expansion pack! as iv grown tired of wipeout HD.

Some adds show cross-platform gaming on WipEout2048 are now showing cross-play on 2048 tracks (whereas it was only on HD/Fury tracks before).

I really hope for a PS3 release (since I don't plan to buy a vita until they fix battery life), as a new game (without HD/Fury) or as an add-on, I don't care.

Yeah ^ I'm getting a vita but my number 1 game will be Wipeout 2048. I don't wanna get it then find a slightly smoother version released on the ps3.

Those footage of 2048 on the add for cross play mode are a mistake of the video maker. If 2048 was about to be release soon on ps3, the devs on all the interviews on had spoken about cross play with 2048 instead of wipeout HD !
