Wow, had no clue there were close to 300 messages on my profile! - deleted.

Top tip for PM deleting: there is a button to select all on the page and you don`t have to spend a very long time clicking on them all individually like some pilots may have done after coming home from the pub a bit worse for wear

Heh!
I had to do that the other day for about 60 temporary tables that the forum tagging system created during a hissy fit. Couldn't just select all of them because there were tables we needed mixed in there... t'was tedious.
Anyhow, just to be clear I'm not telling you all (or y'all, depending on where you come from) to mass delete all your messages - just those you don't consider important.

It was actually quite interesting reading through some of those old messages right from when I first joined..

I started reading my enormous backlog of PMs from oldest forward to selectively delete some of them, ..... and... and... I j u s t c a n ' t ....
It feels like I'm destroying the history of the WipeoutZone if I delete anything. Is there some way I can autosave ALL of my inbox and sentbox on my own computer in some form that would be readable in the same way as it is now live on the forums, as though it were a functioning site where I can click on the message title links in the index to read the individual messages they refer to?

Saving so it looks like it is live is impossible AFAIK, however you can download them all as a text file which I find is the best format to display them (Tried them all, opening Excel doesn't work quite as well.)

Look, don't sweat it if you can't face deleting them - I'm gearing up to have another go and a few Mb here and there isn't going to make any difference right now.

You should try and do this overnight while you sleep. If you've already dumped the database then there is no need to take the forums down again, and when you wake up that database will be uploaded to the new host...
That is if you have the database... Which I'm not so sure of anymore.

If I didn't take the forums down then the site would go out of sync.
The dump taken of the database is out of date as soon it's done if I don't shut off the forums.
So if I used the dump from last night, none of what was posted today would show up when we switched hosts.

Rob, I'm viewing the site from my PSP and it seems the images in user albums and those uploaded in social groups haven't uploaded? I can't see them. Logo/Emblem images for social groups work, but those images uploaded by group members don't.
Thought you should know! Cheers Rob!

Was just gonna mention what ACE-FLO said. My user album pics are blank.
I'm sure it's not a big issue tho.

That should be fixed now guys - I hadn't changed the path and they live in a different place on this server.
Good catch ACE-FLO

Right, there seems to be an issue with staying logged in to the main site - I'll try to get that sorted as soon as I can.

It's been happening to me all day, too - you're just bouncing off of different name servers. They're like big directories of site names and the real computer addresses of where the sites live.
So, if you're seeing the notice about moving, you're getting to the old version of the site from a name server that isn't up to date. Normally it takes a couple of days before they are all updated.
