"Time Trial" for prototypes?

Recently I got to trying them out, but I found it slightly annoying that single race was the only way to play them...then I got to thinking.

In essence, aside from having no Time Trial ghost, wouldn't a "single race" with 0 opponents and no weapon pads be the same as a "time trial" of sorts?

Thus, my point: if enough people care to fill up the TT section of the W3O record tables for the prototype tracks, would those conditions make it seem...feasible (for lack of a better word)?

Just an idea is all. I realize it may seem slightly silly, but what do you guys think? (I also checked the W3O and W3O SE forums here already and didn't find any topic mentioning this)

Definitely a bit silly, but to me it seems like it could work.
