OK guys what do you think is the best way to go about this, pre order a PSP and get it on the launch day hopefully with Pure or wait to see if there are any problems with them and buy one from another batch at a later date? one more thing, can a pixel that is alive say, become dead over time?

Considering Sony's history since the late 80's / early 90's of absolute crap quality control on consumer-grade devices, I'd definitely give them some time to work out the kinks.

wurgh! That review was longer than I thought it would be when I started reading 8O

Good to hear that the audio and video bits are good for it too, that'll add to the value of having one around no doubt.

I see they didn't make any note of the square button problem, must just be a few defective models that suffer from that

I think it's still looking cool, keeping my fingers crossed for region free gaming though, could get hold of games from the states sooo much earlier!

IGN posted battery life tests. Turned out decent.

yeah, shame about the mega drain of the Wi-FI but I can't imagine myself playing head to head for nearly three hours anyway, it's normally closer to half an hour The sleep mode looks as if it does what it's supposed to amd 10 hours of music playback, well decent!

That's how long you can use it as just an mp3 player? Not bad.
