The Universe of WipEout

Something I’ve been wondering… how are older motorsports (pre-AG) doing when the WipEout games take place? For instance, is Formula 1 still around? IndyCar?

I imagine even the absurd expenses associated with F1 are nothing compared to AG racing. I also find myself wondering if teams/companies like Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, and what-have-you are even still around in the WipEout universe.

For the most part, I see manufacturers such as Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota still in operation and making anti-gravity supercars in the WipEout universe. But all other motorsport styles and disciplines would likely be extinct. I read somewhere that there would be anti-gravity equivalents of Le Mans, though.
