The WipeoutZone Community YouTube channel
Hi everyone
In the run up to Omega Collection and the fact that now everyone has access to a PVR through the PS4 or an external one, I have set up a new YouTube channel to act as a hub for any videos related to Wipeout. Obviously I'm expecting a lot of Omega Collection videos, but videos from any of the games are more than welcome! If you wish to link a Google account to this channel so you can stream or upload videos, please pop me a PM and I'll link you in.

I haven't done anything with upkeep yet as I'm at work at the moment, but will sort that out tonight. As it's a new channel I can't set up a custom URL just yet, but I'll do that as soon as I can.
There was of course an old video channel used many years ago, but unfortunately I've long since lost the login details and there's no way to recover them.
I will be moderating the channel to ensure content is appropriate. While it's inevitable that videos will get caught by ContentID for the background music, you MUST ensure that there is no risk of a copyright strike from material you upload. This will likely be from edited videos rather than ones directly shared from the PS4.

This is going to be good. I've got plans for this
I'm sure there's a few other creative souls around who'll have some nice ideas.

First thing I'd like to do is to subscribe the channel to members' own personal channels if they have content they'd like to be linked to this one. I've already done it with mine, if anyone has a channel they'd like referenced, let me know and I'll subscribe it.

I don't have anything yet, but I will.
In addition to original content, I think it might be good to include other things from WipEout history as a playlist.
For example, this direct feed footage from the Hackers "Demo" that someone posted. Other things like commercials and such would be good to save, too.

Hmmm, I think there might be room for some stuff I do with BallisticNG; sound good? I'd be doing videos on Fusion-related things; the ships once I've done them all and the tracks, if I do those too.

Wow, for the first gameplay shared on the channel, that xI2aiizza playlist is ludicrously good makes my mind go

I can't wait either, because this is indeed awesome.
Speaking of Hackers, I remember that film. I have it on Blu-Ray as well!

WipEoutZone retrospective
As most of you know by now, in early May 2017 myself and Charlie met in Liverpool to record a WipEout retrospective thing for Sony.
Whilst we were there I thought I'd take the opportunity to record our own WipEoutZone retrospective, giving us both the chance to talk about the series and share our memories of the community.
It was good going back over things that had unfolded since the turn of the millennium, but it did lead to a pretty long video. If you can bear with us for almost 30 minutes then we hope you enjoy what we had to say.
This is supposed to be on the WipEoutZone channel but in case it picked up content infractions for the music I used I uploaded it to mine first so as not to taint the new channel.

Very interesting video. I didn't even know people competed to see who could roll over the score the most times in WOFusion haha
Also I'm very grateful for the mention of both SlipstreamGX and BallisticNG! Makes all of us super happy!

Really enjoyed that......... Thruster!
I never thought about it until you mentioned it, but you're right; looking back at it now I never appreciated what an ambitious idea the Wipeout Cup actually was. Everyone got on board with the idea and really helped it to be as successful, and enjoyable, as it was.
(Also when you guys were sat down at the start I swear Rob's shoulders are the same size as Charlie's head! )
