A few days ago i just had fall out boy's cover of beat it on loop, seemed to work ok as i beat a few pb's.
^^
*Waits for TCK to voice his opinion :) LOL
For Zone mode, my favourite has to be 'The Grid' by Philip Glass - it's divided up over 2 parts on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvZ3DBI1tO8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=me04BWqr_Xo
I like the way it starts really slowly, then gradually builds into an superfast crescendo - just like zone mode itself. Fits in very nicely with the art on the new zone only tracks too.
Was just thinking about this thread today - perhaps the best personal soundtrack recommendation is not to put any songs that you really love on your playlist!
I had about sixty songs that I really liked, but now I'm getting totally sick of hearing all of them - would make up a new playlist - but there's too much racing to do!
Just listening to Rage Against The Machine's 'Street Fighting Man' ... this tune has to fit , especially in Fury
Hybrid - Finished symphony
Orbital - P.e.t.r.o.l
Future sound of london - we have explosive
saschas songs from wip3out
and a couple of other oldies complement the soundtrack from hd very well.
A bit nostalgic perhaps but hey this series has been great from the begining so a little nostalgia doesn't hurt.
Future Sound of London - Landmass
Fluke - Atom Bomb
CoLD SToRAGE - Canada
Paul Engemann - Scarface (Push It to the Limit)
I think I have Apollo 440 - Ain't Talking 'Bout Dub on, but I can't remember.
The Crystal Method - Born Too Slow
The Crystal Method - Divided By Night
To name but a few. In total I think I have 30.
STRAPPING YOUNG LAD :rock
sometimes I like to listen stuff from old F-Zero soundtracks :P
Hello everyone :D
This is my first post, so hi all!
I hope thats all right, if not, feel free to delete this post, I'll post it in the other thread.
I know this is no download forum, but I hope its still allright posting it here in the discussion forum.
Okay, I have selected 111 tracks of my big music archive which I think fit very good with Wipeout HD. I'll "continue" the style of Wipeout, so they are mostly technological tracks.
I didn't just choose my favourite songs, I though how they would fit with wipeout. Well, taste differs, but I think you'll like it.
I have recut and edited some of the files and every file has the same Volume (95DB) and shouldn't contain any clipping.
If you turn Music to 100% and Sound FX to 60-70% it should be on the same Volume.
The Soundtrack consists of House, D'n'B, Electronic and Trance.
For some tracks you got to be a fan of that genre to like it, so don't bother with this pack if you aren't into Technological Stuff.
This pack is huge, so just downloading 1GB and then say no thanks is a bit harsh, so I made a little preview, featuring some tracks of every genre.
I hope you don't mind if its on Youtube:
Wipeout HD - Private Customsoundtrack Preview
In addition I screened the playlist, so you can see the titles and artists. Few tracks don't have specific titles and artists.

Download it from Dropbox:
Part 1
Part 2
Password: fury
I uploaded it in two parts (without compression, so the extraction will be very fast!) because I don't know if Dropbox's DL Speed differs depending on how late it is! I downloaded with 450kb/s at 2pm GMT+1, so I think its allrighty.
Hope you like it. If you've downloaded the pack and tested it, I'd like to read your feeback, I hope for negative ones so I can improve my pack and give little updates as a seperate file.
Thank you.
(Sorry for the little trouble Admin/Mods)
wow, you really put a lot of work into that. Thanks Streidominating :+
I have two different playlists I use for Wipeout. My main Wipeout playlist and a Wipeout test playlist. I'm always looking out for new music to play Wipeout to and I put new songs in the test playlist before deciding if I want to add them to the main list
Here's some of what I have in my main Wipeout playlist. Mostly it's trance/techno but I've managed to throw in some BGM and vocal music from a couple of anime series that work with Wipeout.

Finally, i had the idea of including the music from The Matrix Reloaded fight scenes of Teahouse (Neo vs Seraph), Mona Lisa Overdrive (Highway Pursuit), Château (Neo vs Merovingian's thugs) and Burly Brawl (Neo vs Agents Smith). I must say that this is ****ing epic racing with those and dramatic orchestra sound effects :D
I've switched from the who to the outlaws
Am I the only one to play rock music on WO ?
extract of green grass and high tides : http://www.lastfm.fr/music/The+Outla...ides?autostart
hurry sundown : http://www.lastfm.fr/music/The+Outla...down?autostart
Thanks Streidom for that
i usually listen to grime as it gets u well hyped or niche to just bop about on the sofa too but something new is always nice :+
I think the soundtrack from Shatter would jive well with HD:
http://sidhe.bandcamp.com/
wow thanks for this aerobie ! :+
I find it a bit OMD-ish with beats of old Jean-Michel Jarre and newer beats introduced like Daft Punk or Benny Benassi, I really like it ! Playing Wipeout with that would be awesome I guess ! Somehow those beats remind me of old amiga games like Jaguar XJ220 or Turrican :)
Big Beat, I think? I only have Take California on my playlist, it's a bit annoying having it though because it has such a long intro.
FC Kahuna - Mindset to Cycle
FC Kahuna - Growler
FC Kahuna - Bleep Freak
Future Sound of London - Expander (Remix)
The Go! Team - Junior Kickstart
The Chemical Brothers - Star Guitar (this also has a very cool video to it, highly recommended)
Fatboy Slim - Ya Mama
Goose - Black Gloves
Mint Royale - Singin' in the Rain
The Prodigy - Firestarter
The Prodigy - Smack My B**ch Up
Propellerheads - Take California (shortened version of the full song, don't have a clue what the video is about, it's not the official one)
That's about it.
