The Speed Lap Challenge

What annoying invisible speedpads? I don't see them lol. (the one in tunnel corner I take)

Improved EG-X by a hair to 32.76. More importantly, improved Icaras to 32.33. 8)

i gave it a short go,here mine's:
34.70 EG-X Fury 1 BR 13 SP

nothing special of course...

Not sure what I'm doing wrong at the moment but I've only managed a 33.4x. That's with a boost BR at the start!

I had a half-hearted effort earlier and got 33.07.

Make sure you're getting that boost-br late, KGB - if it's too early it can actually be slower than a boost. Getting the boost out of the loopy tunnel right is also a big factor (and it's definitely the fastest boost location from what I've found). Other than those, the lap is all lines... maybe have a look on YT for some vids, I think barnster has a flash one there. The approach to the hairpin is also important.

Cheers for vidlink I noticed I missed a ss left before hairpin can't see anything else. Hopefully wen I try later after work I'll get another .10 then I'm happy

@dreamy elf...if you see me on invite into your game..im only good for venom and flash at present cant fly straight any faster at moment but im working on it..been out of game for way to long i guess..should be ok next week.

i like talons reach it seems easy but the more i play it the more i see how much skill is needed to hug those walls and keep your line super tight.

for me hardest part is the br up the hill keeping it tight and hitting the pad around that corner and the other bit is the u bend..its easy to do perfect but really hard to do it fast ..i lose lots on that corner cos i take it way to safely..

New method is badass. Not perfected it yet world rec definitely breakable that way. See leungboks vid in tt challenge

2. Leung's BR (from his phantom TJ video) after the mag-loop. Sideshift right from the raised side on the left for a BR)
3. BoostBR over chicanes 'a la Leungbok'

I never realised you could get a BR out of the loop, at least on venom!

I've never really understood the boosts in TJ, as usually boosts and br's through a turn slow you down more than an alright boost over a straight, but no boost br I tried ever seemed to be faster than the one out of the loop and around the corner, which seems counter intuitive compared with the other 2 boost locations.

And then, what makes the boost through the chicane better than the boost out of the first tunnel?

Nice! I will have to practice these techniques! I already know I probably won't be able to do that SS-BR though... :redface: Yeldar, do you think the alternate boost-BR location is quicker or are you getting a quicker time just because of the 3rd BR?

I just set a SL WR on Flash using the normal/"old" 2BR method but am afraid it won't last very long now! :robot

Definately due to the new boost location: I tried the SS-BR with other boost areas, like on the straight before the loop, was still quite a bit slower.

Ah cheers. The boost br is defo better I went from .91 to .55.
Have to figure out the 2nd br. 3rd ain't to difficult it's just learning corner after land. My ghost smokes past me now if I try oldway.
