Cyberio (PSN name, not sure if that's also zone name) defeats Rubix 4-3.
After trading wins in our chosen races, it came down to Anulpha. I was in the lead most of the way and a perfectly timed missile knocked me off line and off the track as I was going into the final straight to the finish.

We were surprisingly well matched. Almost all races were within a couple seconds or less. Well, his chosen zone battle was a disaster for me, but zone has never been a strength of mine.
Hi Rubix, i came to post the same thing.
amazingly 4-3 which i never thought i was going to win (the pilots who choose phantom are a real challenge and only few times i beat them), i didn't win the phantom races (his choices) especially the metropia reverse (lose with 10 seconds), but my beloved zone battle finally made the draw.
I know i had luck with the missile in the last track, but also i lost some races by this way.
In any case, well played Rubix!

A really enjoyable 1 vs 1. He annihilated me on the phantom races, but the rapier races were surprisingly close. Luxoflux isn't a zone battle player so those were my only real chance, and I managed to conquer my nerves sufficiently to win both.
An honour and a privilege Luxoflux, I'll be rooting for you throughout the rest of the Cup.
And a big, big thank you to Kanar for putting this all together, and to all the other Cup organisers. Happy days indeed. :clap

I have won for definitive abandonment to the beginning of the third race, after having abandoned both the first and the second race, an absurd situation.
If I can allow me a suggestion for next year, to put a rule to participate a minimum of experience in way to avoid disagreeable evenings (3 evenings up to the 3 at night for me)
For correctness I will send a link to kanar and to kgb a video that shows the carrying out of the races.
thanks for posting here flaflasat; well I dunno what to say about your experience, tbh in 99% of the cases the pilots (even from different nationalities) manage to play a best of 7 races in perfect fairness & gentleman attitude. So obviously we had this 1% biohazard weird internet behaviour stuff here. Hope we won't have more.
Sadly, & as we said before, this 1st round will be a joke for a few of us, due to quitters, last minute withdrawals & other weird issues.
But hopefully, it was/it will be great fun already for the majority of us. I wish you a good 2nd round my dear flaflasat!

il_mago is Italian, speaks barely english, best thing is to ask to team Italy if they have any news from him mate.

I'm upset at the way I lost the last race - fell of course and only one turbo after that...no excuses though, that was one that slipped out of my fingertips after going up 3-0. Nothing cheap or stupid about that.
