Very close to a perfect lap, but your #2 is wrong.
#1 = Fear, #3 = Hourglass, #4 = The letter E, #5 = The four elements.
4 outta 5 is pretty good.
And the answer to #2 is... A Road.
(you can "trip" a road... by travelling on it!)
... Yes, it's a cheap "english language" pun, but it's all good.
Oh, here's another "english language" pun: What's brown and sticky?

The Night? Nah, "The Night" doesn't flee from a flame! It's still there, you can still see it around you. The Darkness, however, that will flee a flame. Check your source perhaps, but I'm pretty sure my answer is slightly more correct.
The New #2: Time.
The first one though... can you check/fix the grammar on that? I'm having trouble parsing that english sentence there. I'm pretty sure I could get it if only it was less obfuscated about what "it" and "that" and "this" is in each case. 8 P

It's been a while, but I was recently reminded that I never did solve these.
Reading over them again, I have two new answers.
1) An Idea (or thought)
2) The Past
-
Which puzzle are you trying to do?
-
I'll start this up again then.
3) Death in a Field
A man is lying dead in a field. Next to him there is an unopened package. There is no other creature in the field. How did he die?
