Mate, that looks amazing.
If it stays true to the comic its going to be ridiculously good.
There are some messed up characters.
I can't stop watching Diners, Drive-ins & Dives on the the Food Network channel. I don't know if I'm repulsed or jealous by it all. Some of the food looks fantastic....but the portion sizes are just ridiculous. I really have to go to the USA someday and sample some of this stuff :g.
Portion sizes in the US are massive compared to us. A large portion of fries here is only small/regular out there. I'd love to get a supersize meal to see the difference.
Is it a standard thing for portion sizes to be large, i.e. would they be large in a decent restaurant, or is it mostly just fast food places?
It's a standard thing I believe Saturn. At least it was when I visited my Grandad in Pennsylvania when I was around 12. The T-Bone steak that my Dad has looked like a baby cow :eek

Check it out at about 3:00 :D. I feel sick after eating a Double Whopper from BK. Bulimia time I think :blarg.
That's a big burger...!
I actually envy the americans that particular diner/burger bar tradition. And I am not talking about BK/McD/Wendys/etc. But I am one of those that actually like steak and eggs for breakfast :D
I'm glad it didn't actually take that guy 40 mins to eat that burger. I looked at it and thought I could do it in less than that. Although, 15 minutes is actually quite fast.

Is this actually true? If so, I'm sry but I'm never going to go to Aussie land, I enjoy rights.
Sigh. That's Australian politics for you, where the Prime Minister's stepdaughters' model photo shoot gets more airtime than actual goverment policies. I wonder what The Mad Katter will have to say about this?
He'll butter his watch. :)
Anyone watch the new series of The Inbetweeners last night on E4. The catwalk scene is a total classic, I couldn't believe they actually put that on TV :D.
Sorry about the voice over, that's not meant to be there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L116YuHfiDc somewhere around 6:50 mark.
wasnt bad, didnt think it was as laugh-out-loud funny as first ep s1.
definitely worth a worth though.
Recently I've been taking quite a break from Wipeout. I've taken to playing lots of older games recently for some reason. It started off with playing Silent Hill (1999) for the PSX... then Battlefield 2, then CoD2 (I'm even making a walkthrough for that).
Has anyone else had these sudden periods of total disinterest for newer games? I even feel like firing up FF7 to finally complete it (yes, I never did before). BF2 and CoD2 are a bit more recent... but it's been nearly 5 years since their release dates!
And randomly for DP (since we were talking about BF2 and BF:BC2): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4723I_hMvw
A video of me being promoted in BF2 to Captain level... I always try to level up in funny ways. :g I level up twice because it takes a while for the servers to note your advancement, so you can join another server and level up again if it's within 5 minutes or so.
Woop I agree ^_^
I am playing Space Invaders Infinity Gene and Pong(PS1) atm and I am adoring them :D
I think there might be a rash of remastered PS2 titles coming out soon.
I know ICO and Shadow of the Colossus will be released shortly, similar to the Gods of War I & II twin pack I think.

At last. 3 months late but my broadband has finally switched over
now to use that broadband speed test to see if it was worth the massive balls up :g
Has anyone seen the news story from today about a mouse found in a loaf of bread? There's a picture included on the BBC's site. I've seen quite a lot of gory films recently, but none has grossed me out as much as this story.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...shire-11419498
I'm amazed something like that could even happen, unless it was someone's idea of a sick joke.:blarg
I've seen bread that has added Omega 3 fish oil [tastes horrible by the way], but protein enriched with "Mouse" is a new one.
I love the comment "There was no evidence of mice within the bakery and no history of any similar issues.", I wonder what happened to all the other mice, as there is seldomly just one, same fate probably.
I better check that jar of Bransons pickles in the fridge which is made by the same company.
i like silent hill 2 its proper scary..well it scare me anyway..:nod

New AG racing game - looks like the child of fzero and wipeout - wiiware though. No vids yet but screenshots look interesting.
Hmm...a reason to not sell my Wii just yet, perhaps.
ugh another copy cat. Just make a new WipEout lol..
I remind you that the title of this thread is:
General conversation thread: Chat about anything that's not WipEout.
Discussion of WipEout belongs elsewhere.
If discussion of other videogames is going to lead to WipEout as well, it may be best to discuss those in threads of their own instead of in General Conversation.
looking at the paris motor show gubbins

whats the new design obsession to have MASSIVE front grills?(Audi, Citroen, Ford, Volkswagen etc)
the bonnet lines and lighting design make it look ever so slightly like the current models of aston martin. but with a massive gaping hole at the front. like a shocked/surprised smiley :O :o
A surprised smiley thats also frowning slightly
perhaps its afraid of what all the chavs will do to it when they somehow get hold (steal) one :P "argggghhhhh there gonna put horrible spoiler kits on me!!!!!"
Hopefully it'll eat the spoilerkits and possibly take a few of the chavs fingers if he gets too close!
Audi/VW hopefully stops with the gaping mouths where they are now. I like them. Ford should realise that there's a fine line between a stylish, quite big grille and that whalemouth on the ST. But I bet it's a fun little car and from behind the wheel, you can't see that you're driving Moby Dick! :p
Ah well, I may just be jealous because I only can afford a 5 year old model... ;)
Oh god what is that! I think Ford tried to make it look slightly angry but buggered it up somewhere down the line.
If you want a car with a loveable, goofy smile go take a look at the current generation Mazda 3. my mum's got one, it's the happiest looking car I've ever seen.
atleast they put some effort into making there car look like a gobsmacked whale
unlike audi that seem to just photocopy

Kia Pop? looks funky, i love crazy concept cars

Unbelievable...got up early to go to my first lecture and it's cancelled, fabulous -_-
Bloody tube strikes :bomb
go to the bar and have a beer (or a couple of them lol)
Watching Ryder Cup golf!, bloody awesome stuff!!! Go Europe!!!
stevie:D
stin, you sure love tiny balls, sticks and holes... don't ya? lolol :P
Anybody got Garry's Mod? I need friends to play with. :3 :g
You expect lecturers to turn up or something? That'll teach you for going to lectures in the first place, chump!:P When I was at uni I swear the lecturers were lazier than the students. So many cancelled lectures. Was pretty bad sometimes, especially when it was revision lectures. I remember one time when our lecture was moved to some random room on the top floor of the humanities building (fascinating place for an engineering student - girls everywhere:o). It took us ages to find it, and when we eventually did, the lecturer hadn't even bothered to turn up. Some people don't like that students these days are acting more like consumers, but I'm glad they are starting to hold lazy and crappy lecturers to account. I wish people had in my year, as some lecturers were completely unprepared, even when they did turn up.
I don't mind them not turning up just so long as I get some form of notification beforehand so I don't waste my time walking places.
Also just found out that as I'm doing Electronic Engineering with Nanotechnology I have to write a 5000 word essay on ethics. Where the hell did they get that from?! :brickwall
Probably because everyone thinks nano-robots are going to destroy the world. Is that ethical? In some ways I guess not.
As part of Mechanical Engineering I did business studies, accounting and Mandarin. I think they throw random stuff in to make it seem more interesting, but for me it just made it more boring. The business side helps a bit later on for project management, but really, once you know how to work out the different types of profit and cash flow, the rest tends to be left to people who give a crap.:P
Well nano-robots could destroy the world, just like a virus with a slightly faulty design or a hydrogen bomb with a bad trigger can.
I'm not saying that they exist yet, but given time we could have selfreplicating nano robots that'll eat your liver if you speak german. It may have started as the ultimate Repair Your Oktoberfest pill, but somewhere, something went wrong.
Besides, we really don't need Yeldar turning into a mad nano-scientist, so write your ethics essay, I say! :nod
Ragarding the nano-bots as a virus, that is possible. A doctor who is treating someone he hates may make nanobots not to treat the patient, but instead kill the patient(In this case, vendetta can kill).I think that is where ethics goes,as far as I know(I think).
A fart from a giant space creature could destroy the world too, but they still make baked beans.
