I did a 122 on Syncopia yesterday but not yet updated too :beer
I just got 106 :rock :) (122?! nice going kingheim)
Seems like the leaderboard doesn't update for over two days now. Perhaps
they fix the glitched Anulpha Pass scores. Who knows....
Good going, kingheim. Nothing less than I have expected.
@Phantron: Yeah will add some small details up next.
Perhaps.
:naughty
Just had some Phenominal Sessions with DJKyoto and Natade-coco They are both VERY deadly on the Zone battle track!
Great racing guys!
I was just about to zone boost to 50 on CP Rev, but you just pipped me to it. :)
Vars is a pretty deadly Zone Battle Pilot.
Also my controller with its sticky analogue stick is causing me headaches in trying to bust past zone 105 on Syncopia. Blah.
Haha Yeah I was terrified you had a +8 Since you were at 42.5 or something, You had me on my toes all round Kyoto, and dont worry im still stuck at 108 for my Syncopia. I should get back to trying it again
ProblemSolver, I just read this guide and it's fantastic, I think I'm already much
better at Zone Battle just after reading it! Awesome facts and advice :clap
Haha I did 2 online ZB and lost them, but now I realize I made several mistakes
such as using a shield when I had more than 40 hp, etc...
But one thing, the Barrel Roll still depletes Vital energy, right?
tkx a lot man!
BRs cost 15 vital energy, as usual. :nod
Who here agrees that Sub-Phantom is the best speed class? Colours are great for concentration, not so slow that it'll blow your brains out with boredom, and not too fast that it'll make you start pinballing. And P.S. I was wondering, at what Zone does not having 100% health become legal? I usually enter Subsonic with 92% on Moa.
@CJS: I have to agree on the Sub-Phantom thing. It's quite a pleasing speed
to cruise 'n chill.
As long as you can do BRs in a safe way it's kinda of a crime to have 100%
vital energy. xD I usually level it down on tracks where one can do BRs, and
later on level it up to go without BRs from there on. Having 100% at certain
stages is a good indicator for how long your run may last. For example, on
Anulpha Pass it's quite pleasing to have about 100% on zone 115. But anyways,
that's not the key. The key is whether you can profit from doing a perfect lap
when it becomes really difficult. Why? Well, on very high zones, depending on
the track, one cannot any longer judge whether he did a perfect zone or not,
because 'looking' at the HUD can mess up the entire run. But there is one
thing that really helps, it's the voice saying; perfect lap. Once you hear
that voice you know that if you now run without any scratch around the track
for a couple of seconds your vital energy fills up rather quickly. Within
these seconds one has to be rather strong to not touch the walls. It may allow
you to go 5 or even 10 zones farther in the end. One perfect lap with a few
perfect zones thereafter can make up for a huge difference. It's a pure
psychological thing....
Ohmig:donutd. Pure said it had an "alien space-bike passed through a worm hole graffiti flavour to it". I say that it has a "the ONLY G:donutDDAMN THING I'VE EVER GOTTEN ZONE 75 ON GRAFFITI FLAVOUR TO IT"!!! Props Syncopia! I love you! (Although Supersonic wasn't black, it was gold O_o) :rock Zone Zeus is MINE!
Edit: In my opinion, I think that they should have a new speed class come in at Zone 100, called Terminal Velocity... that would be cool. Everything would be completely black, all you would see are white outlines...
OMG I broke my PS3 by playing ZONE! I was on a run to set another record on the
table as my PS3 was going to freeze! Damnit!
Suddently the screen freezed and after about 2 seconds therafter my PS3 turned off.
I quickly realized that the RSX isn't fully working anymore, so I started my PS3 up
again and quickly changed the bootflag over to OtherOS, because the OtherOS, i.e.
PS3Linux, can't use the RSX' main functionallity since the PS3s Hypervisor prevents
it from doing so. As a result, my PS3Linux was fully functional such that I could do a
final backup of my entire system. I then switched the bootflag back to GameOS by
realizing at the same time that I will never come back to see Linux again on my PS3.
The GameOS was coming up once again for about 30 seconds after my PS3 turned off
forever.
My PS3 got the infamous YLOD (Yellow Light of Death), which can have various
issues. But since the Cell processor was working for over an hour, the issue must be
related to the RSX processor. Almost all 60GB-PS3 models do suffer from a heating
problem were either the Cell or the RSX can loses contact to the motherboard due to
a melting issue. This problem is quite well known and can be fixed with a bit of luck.
Some guys on YT show how to do it, but I'm not considering doing it.
In the past I always noticed that the fan was coming up rather fast playing WEHD.
And with the advent of Fury I thing that the RSX is at it's limits, radiating maximum
heat as a result. So playing ZONE for hours and hours may have put a good burden
onto my system over time. For me it was only a question of time when my PS3 is
going to break.
Sh!t happens. Anyways, I'll be back quite soon! :nod
btw; I've beaten D.A.R.Y.L.. xD
Ouch, that sucks.
EDIT:
Well I just did Zone 81 on Syncopia.
Opened a message TehRedScar sent me while the result screen popped up in the background.
No controller or keyboard input worked. I couldn't reply to him or leave the message screen. I had to shut off the PS3 before it saved my Zone 81.
Sorry for your PS3 ProblemSolver :blarg
Zone leaderboards update this evening, nothing change for the broken Anulpha Pass.
But finally my 134/102 on Syncopia appears :p
the gauntlet has been thrown :rock
Didnt PS get a 134/102 also?
Yes same zone as PS, but I was lucky enough to have more points so first on leaderboards by now :banzai
Well, I know it's just the time PS repair his PS3 lol
Wow, congrats Kingheim.
Looks like ProblemSolver has a few more Problems to solve now :beer
I'll try for 110 first. I need to find a better line at the start / stop accidently BR'ing.
@Kingheim: Same amount of zones? I lol'd. xD Good work, man! :+ This should
lead us straight to zone 140+. :D
I've already a new PS3 in place, but I have to bring up my Linux at first. Only
a few days left until I'm back.... :sonar
For entertainment I've uploaded another video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G_YV13b1W20
Hopefully it helps in making those few days shorter ;)
Very short. :nod
Granted, I wouldn't be true to myself not to get into emotion with Syncopia again
depite having my new PS3 in place.
I'm back; 454k / 136 / 112. :sonar
You have two PS3s? Or is it already fixed?
Bought a new one. I don't have the time to wait for an replacement.
The 40GB model is very quite, holy! It even remains at fan stage 1
while playing WipEout. I can even hear the HDD spinning when the
sound is off!
So you bought one and will return it when the other is fixed? Or just scrap the idea of fixing the other?
Anyway yeah the 40GB is really quiet. My 60GB on the other hand gets on super high with the current weather during WipEout HD.
Nope. I will get my replacement and then I will either sell it or used
it as a ZONEstation. xD
Problem for problem solver:nod:nod
Problem solver what do you think is the most suitable ship for syncopia track for doing a zone zeus.. i feel good enough to try for this trophey now
thankyou:nod
Any Ship works really, Im not PS. But The Assegai Ive noticed handles a tad better then other crafts.
Thanks for tip Vartazian :nod:nod
@jasmin-jade: xD The ZONE craft of each team behaves in the same way, not so for
Zone Battle. So if you wanna do Zone Zeus on Syncopia, you know which craft to
choose. :nod
I'm not sure what you two are talking about, the zone crafts are identical in every way except the skins, are they not? Jasmin-jade's question was about zone, not zone battle. :eek
EDIT: Never mind, PS beat me to it. ;)
Oh yeah, your right I mixed up Zone Battle and Zone, in ZONE all the craft are the same, in Zone Battle, the Assegai has the best handling
I think virtually every craft is 'better' for Zone Battle than a Feisar. A Feisar is quite
difficult to control on high speeds, if one cannot be as gently on the airbrakes as hell.
As hell? Eh? ;)
yes your are both right.first attemp with fieasar got me zone 50 second attemp with agasagia got me to zone 60 easy and gave me plenty of perfects so i could mash out barrrel rolls and hit most speed pads.
feisar is just way to responsive .maybe itll be good for subenco zone but for easy zones it just gets you wiped-out:nod:nod
*facepalm*
Did you really read what we said about zone crafts being... uh... identical? :beer
*facepalm*
dont you know were talking about zone battle?
There is no zone 60 in zone battle. ;)
Unless youre PS then you can get up to Zone 63.9. :P
63.9... I do those when I need to get a message across to smack talking noobs.
*coughwormwoodmoridincough*
As stated over here, I suppose to integrate at least two new color schemes /
speed classes for ZONE, i.e. TRANSSONIC and HYPERSONIC for zone 100
and zone 130, respectively. Neglecting names and numbers, how should they
look like? Some funky ideas? But keep in mind that the current color schemes
for the standard tracks do differ from those of the Pure4 tracks.
Crob just once wrote;
xD Fading the screen to black would be awesome.
Well, I got some ideas but I don't wanna influence anyone just yet.
Btw; I've spotted Wellington86 on the leaderboard. :) He took rank 1 on
Teck de Ra Reverse and he also gave The Amphiseum a try.
