Well I have your 2 versions and the original in game ship in front of me. It doesn’t seam to me either brown nor mechanic. In fact it is more like yellow with vertical stripes, which at some point it can be thought as mechanic. The thing is that your mechanic version seams somehow “glued”. I get a feeling that the 2 parts of the ship will break at the smallest pressure. The brown line gives some solidity to the ship I guess. Maybe something in-between? Or a more complex mechanic part ?
Well, nothing exciting here, but this is my version of the W3O Piranha. Again keeping it as simple as possible to match the style of my Feisar. The back end isn't very close because the models are so different.

EDIT: Just realised this isn't an up-to-date shot. There should be some darker sort of shading towards the nose but you'll have to imagine it as I can't be bothered to go and get more pics ^_^
Oh, and thanks to Ricanebleu for the reference images.
ooohh, very nice :g
Infected// - Great job on that AG-Sys.... it looks fantastic! I imagine that it looks great "In Game"? :)
Dogg// - As usual, another great skin.... Great colours, well laid out, and i LOVE the logo at the back! :g
I'm getting the bug to go online & have a go again myself! :)
Uuuuuu! Nice. Missa likessit! But I guess it can still be improved. Remember Dogg Thang’s first Scorpion Piranha? He used dark colors on the margins and in the end it created the illusion that the shape is much like the one in 2097, sleeker, thinner I don’t know haw to describe it. Maybe you could use some of that technique to create the illusion of a more 3ish “nose”.
Well, since you raised it, here is the up to date shaded version. I'm not quite sure what technique you were dexcribing Ricane, but this does very subtly suggest a nose closer to the original shape:

EDIT: Since the jpg came out horribly, - HERE's the png
GTAce, I like very much, but could use some more details
What details?
I cant add details from the normal AG because of color limitation and it doesnt fit and the original wipEout 1 craft doesnt have anything in this direction.^^
by details, i mean like maybe worn effects and such, but i can understand if you cant with the color limitations
GTAce:To me it definitely looks better. You could also come with the lateral stripes on the back sides
Here is the back of the original http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?i...8024059np4.png http://img261.imageshack.us/my.php?i...8024059ms4.png

AXX:Yes now it has the nose. You see is like you altered the physical shape. As for the technique I don’t know how he did it. I know nothing about photo-shop and this kind of stuff. All I can do is observe and describe what I see.
Here is the pic that I was talking

in game you don’t see the dark border and so the shape of the craft looks close to this:

here is an other pic that shows that effect

Sorry but i cant add the lateral stripes because than i must paint over the Dekka logo.
There is not enough space on the wings sorry.
Maybe im not good enough at Photoshop but its the best i can get now.
But i will make AG's #2 and then upload both on wipeout-skins how it looks right now.
It looks great Ace, don’t worry. It was just a suggestion not a request. I still think it could be done as the side back wings have a back section+ a left section. The Dekka logo is on the left section. Also so far I count 5 colors. If you know how you could add some shades to give some density in the colors. ( Gjisz’ I’m such a critic like I would know so much, don’t mind me folks I’m just trying to help, not to criticize)
Thanks a million times for the “2”. It has been my first craft ( **nostalgic tears**)
Hey everything is fine man!
Im actually glad you suggest stuff like that because i always want to make the best i can, i have no problem with that at all, its exact the opposite. 8 )
Unfortunatly i must go to bed now (its 3 am here) but i will work more on both ships tomorrow (i couldnt imagine it will took so long for the rest of the work lol).
I'm just seeing this now, GTAce, and I think what you've done with the stripes looks really good and is a great comprimise in that it works with the current shape of the ships. If it were me, I'd be happy with that!
QirexAXX - nice Piranha! It's really difficult when the shapes of the craft are so different and the front of the Pure and Pulse Piranha makes it very difficult to look like anything else so I think you've done a great job with it.
GTAce, I really like the AG, but think the machinery back end is best. But then Dogg`s artistic judgement is a lot better than mine, so....
I had strange colour limiting problems with one skin, when importing into the editor, but got around this by letting photoshop limit it to 16 colours first, and it did a much more intelligent job than the editor. Then when taking it into the editor it didn`t alter it at all.
Also incredible skins from Infected, and Dogg and QirexAAX as we have come to expect now. ;)
Anyone know what the little curvy bits at the bottom of the Assegai skin are for? I can't figure out what part of the craft they end up at.
They're the front and back faces of the engine casing.
Just try painting them in a really bright colour and they should be obvious.
Ah okay. Got it now, thanks.
Edit: Oh, and here's that finished Assegai. As well as tidying up a few details and making it slightly brighter overall, I realised there was a nasty problem in-game. The stripes on the prongs, when seen in the default out of craft view, became less than one pixel thick and so flickered like crazy. It actually looked like a bug. So I had to find a way of solving that.
The only way I could avoid that completely was by making the stripes so thick they no longer looked like the WO3 craft at all. So I comprimised by pulling them back quite considerably and only slightly thickening them. They still shimmer a bit in the game but not as much. I guess it's more of a tribute piece than anything else though.
I'll be uploading it to the skins site straight after posting this for those who want it.

Another edit: Actually I'm having trouble getting into the skins site right now but I'll upload it as soon as I can.
One last edit: Got it up now.
