I don't have any records! XD
Glad to have you on board, Yeldar. I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time at all, since Pulse and Pure are 1000 times easier than HD. ;)

Not bloody likely. I find PSPs absolutely impossible. Would it count as cheating if I stuck a piece of blu-tack to the stick and use that? I hate D-Pads.
Hasn't arrived yet though, probs next week. Ready to get rinsed by all and sundry on the tracks. Yippee :banzai
P.S. HD is WAY easier, the tracks are proper simple in comparison to some of the badboys I've seen you guys racing on.
I'd consider blu tac on the stick as perfectly legit, since it's not much different to just having a rough skinned thumb lol. It might be hard to pitch the nose down using the stick though (totally necessary in Pulse, as it increases your speed).
I guess there are quite a few fairly technical tracks in Pulse, yes, but they're much wider than anything in HD (e.g. Talon's Junction in Pulse is fairly easy, but in HD isn't even as wide as a ship, which is why you can't choose Auricom or Goteki on it), and the handling is much more direct, making it easier to take all of those corners.
So tell me Mssa, now we have Yeye on PSP, will we have to privilege to play with you on HD?
I know, I know, sentitive point... but you and Ace will always remain my Pulse buddies... even if Ace was a bit ahead of me... and you dramatically ahead of me! :)
And me! :P
stevie;)
My first wipeout video for 2011 : :D

Great video, mate! Really impressive (and insane) line. :clap
Sorry, Temet; it's Gemini Dam Black that I love, so I'm not furious as you'd hoped. :P
Mad-Ice will be though, as this is one of his favourites! :!
What!? What, do I hear? and did my eyes deceive me? Ohhh no, it's Leungbok again!
Amazing new BR spots there!:+ Those are 2 more BRs, then my SL record!
Greetz Mad-Ice
Edgewinter black : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uT6dW0qjzyM
Nice, mate! :+
I never got the hang of that track, especially the Black run. It seems like it wouldn't be that hard, but it is. :D
Just played a bit of Pulse on PPSSPP, and got a pretty nice lap recorded on Orcus White:

edit: Did one for Basilico Black as well:

Couple more speed lap videos:
Talon's Junction Black
Gemini Dam White
So you have had been playing alot with pulse? but gemini dam white damn man! 😥
stevie :)
Hi Stevie. :)
I did take a break from Pulse for a few years, but started occasionally playing again a while back. I try not to play often though, because I end up playing for hours and hours if I get close to a record, and I don't want the damn game taking over my life again! haha
Just made a speed lap video for Arse Prime White.
I was using Harimau on this occasion. :D
"Arse" XD
:lol I love all those stupid track and ship names we used to come up with.
Just made another speed lap video. You should enjoy this one, mate: Outpost 7 Black
Nice flying, at 0:09 if you use the turbo and pitch up you can do 2 BRs instead of 1, also at 0:15 if you pitch up and sideshift to the right you can do one more BR but it may actually slow you down if you crash.
Cheers. I can't believe I wasn't doing that turbo BR already! It seems so obvious now I think about it. I even do it on the same part of the track on the White run. :lol
Just tested it on speed lap for a few minutes. It's a fair bit trickier than it is on the White run, but I got it clean a few times, and improved my lap time to 20.36.
I actually did experiment with the sideshift BR in 2010 or 2011 when I used to play a lot, but I found it too impractical and gave up on it.
edit: New speed lap video with the turbo BR (20.27): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBER_SC0XsA
Do you play on an emulator?
Yeah, I've been using PPSSPP for all my recent videos (the old ones were done on a real PSP). Neither of my PSPs work well enough to play Pulse any more. Maybe I'll buy another one, but it's a real gamble buying them used, as they're usually worn out.
Framerate bonus;), I keep crashing, but I guess it's because I haven't played for a long time. I don't have much experience with Pulse anyway.
If I end up buying another PSP or somehow fixing one of mine, I'll gladly disprove the framerate bonus theory yet again. :D
But yeah, the framerate is definitely smoother, although it can be unstable, especially while recording with Radeon ReLive - it'll all be running nicely, but then you randomly get hit with stuttering or a microfreeze that completely throws you off (and of course, it always happens when you're just about to get a really nice lap or race time!).
I'm sure you've played so much that it doesn't matter anymore.
HD sometimes freezes when loading a music track from a custom playlist... also I like zone...
get vita ;)
Stevie :)
It doesn't feel the same... ok, I'll go delete those huge WO 2097 OST files I have for no reason.
(a few seconds later)I know, you weren't talking to me:brickwall
Vita seems to be discontinued, and it uses an emulator for PSP games anyway. Might as well buy a PSP so I can enter times on the wipeoutzone tables again (if/when Rob finishes fixing them - I gather it's quite a bit of work to sort them out). Plus I still have a backlog of UMD games.
@Ghosts of Temtesh
Zone is awesome! Wish I was better at it. I did set a record on Fart Gale Black once, but couldn't really challenge the top scores on other tracks.
I think you missed the zone joke, try again...
After my last post I started doing speedlaps on Arc Prime black and Basilico black. My times are close to yours but I can't record videos so I guess nobody cares. Still, it is fun trying to beat someone.
What are your times (and any other particularly fast SL/TT times in any speed class)? If they're too close to mine, I'll have to get back to work on Pulse and try to find ways to improve.
Basilico black:17.53 Arc Prime black: 20.60. These must be my only good times since I have never tried to beat any records before. Also I have played this game just for 62 hours.
For only 62 hours, those are really good times. You probably know about this already if you've read many Pulse threads on here or GameFAQs, but do you pitch the nose down? It gives you a slight speed increase, which ends up lowering your times by a decent amount if you do it all the time (except on magstrips - it doesn't work on those).
I actually discovered it from a chaotic HD thread.
