Lion, I see your point, and of course you are right. But your Qirex is not just purple.You recognize it is the old 2097 pattern because of the black shadows on it. Supposing the original Pulse purple Qirex, your2097 and a simple flat design purple one are side by side in game. The flat one won’t look much different from the original because the color is almost the same. But the 2097 most certainly will draw the attention ( a thing that can be used even as a tactical advantage as the concentration of the other pilot will focus for a sec on the ship instead on the track.)

Also you said that you added the lines and the AG logo just so it wouldn’t be plain simple. AG logo is not so personal. Let us take Zargz Green Machine for example. It was simple, Green, with no logo of the Assegai team. But the grayish shadows on the edges, the rough look, and mostly the eliminations counter on the side of it sure gave it a …soul, a personality, it made it unique, aggressive.

The look of the craft has to appeal both to the pilot as to its rivals. In game I don’t see the blood stains on the nose of my glider, but knowing is there makes me feel like… …. ….”We are Triakis!”. The neon glowing “Triakis” on the side of the ship, the ‘wipeoutzonezone’ logo or the shark on the other side is recognizable enough and also it adds to the ship personality.

I haven’t went yet online but from the ad-hoc races it seems I recive “verry nice apelatives” after I lay some mines in the nose of the other craft so …I suppose it is not just “a blue ship” :))

I've changed the counter a bit, insted of Kills I put there Elim.
influenced by Medusas complaint about 'kills' in the elim. mode

also added one more 'scratch' to it :D

looking at some old pics I noticed that first I had Kills written, then RIP and now Elim.
I think that will be the last change for zi Green 8)

exept for the ocasional added sratch now and then :D

yes, I use an external editor.
it would be possible to get that effect in the flash editor though... it would just be a royal pain to get the dithering right.. This is a magnification of a part of the rear.

Take care of not becoming a scratch yourself Zargs, that wouldn’t be very pleasant, would it? :p

Oooh, zargz - you're such a gentleman sometimes. I'd better race you again online sometime. Then you can probably add another scratch there!

I'm going to see if I can figure out how to use Serif PhotoPlus and make an okay-looking skin...maybe by the end of the year I'll have it sorted.;)

may be just splash a Big Fat (white?) M there on the side of your red AG .. or KIT?

For Ricanebleu - I think I've taken this as far as I can. I'm really happy with how it looks in the skin editor pics and it gets across what I was originally trying to get. It doesn't look as good in game unfortunately but it still looks okay. Hope you use it and enjoy it!

Yeah, I tried a bunch of different things with the grates, removing them and trying other types. My problem was that the shine on the Triakis really smooths them off in-game. Eventually, I ended up going back to the grates I liked originally and I just hope that highlighting brings sinks them in a little bit.

I like what you've done with the text, GTAce. Looks good!

Thanks, its a simple Photoshop filter, there are a couple of them which lead to nice effects.

EDIT: Ah alright, dont know if the text shows up correct in the game lol, like i said, dont have a PSP.
