6.30 am here and 1st day Pure session has ended : Mad Ice went to bed around 2/3 am and we finished Vic Poi & I by 2 descensions.
We started this afternoon Mad Ice & I when we met on kai a new player with great skill named : Raiden we did the whole 28 tracks at 3.
We quit house for my brother's one to have a coucous/alcohol party :beer
at midnight we were back home kai opened to fight at 8 ( 2 groups of 4) with Borell, RR, Dmc, MadIce, Raiden, Vic, Poi and me.

By the way RJ, I can verify that the Airlink 101 AWLL3026 USB adapter works perfectly with kai (you'll be unable to use it with pulse though). Borell introduced me to kai with some thorough whippings and then Rapier Racer "baptized me with fire"...elimination....

I might manage to get onto Kai Friday night, if the six hours of driving I have to do beforehand does not kill me.
AG Sys?!? Into online multiplayer?!?
Izzy, try out the Goteki. It handles almost as well as the AG Sys, with twice the shields. That should help with your "getting eliminated" problem.
Jack was using an AG Sys when we did our get-together, but he was rarely in anyones sights long enough to be attacked. 8 P
I was flying Tigron or Goteki and still getting eliminated every now and then, but I think my weapon usage (absorbtion rate) has improved significantly since then.
I'm not taking any ship with Shields of 3 or less into multiplayer until I'm a lot better, that's for sure. 8 )
Yeah, I started out using the Assegai, but I was hooked by the acceleration and handling of the AG. One has to play very defensively with it considering its meagre shielding, but it absolutely tears out of curves.
In other news, I just picked up a DWL-122 off Ebay this afternoon. Hopefully I'll be onto Kai soon. We'll see.

IT, huh? I am not an object. ROFL!:D Ahh you guys make me laugh.
So I ventured onto Kai for a bit tonight with those scary fast racers...yikes. But an important night for I won my first race and eliminated my first pilot on Kai. REASONS BELOW:
-Only 2 pilots remained in the race, the others dropped out which left Mad-Ice and I.
-I seemed to go through every bomb and mine due to lag which left them for 007, I'm sure.
-After he lapped me (was it the first or second time??) I quaked him to bits. After which I rebounded from wall to wall until finally crossing the line, the only pilot left, earning my first gold.XD
So now I know, to get gold I must eliminate everyone.
Poor Vic and Poi gave me a tutorial on Altima at Phantom speed. Now I know precisely where to barrel roll and what lines to take, as I watched carefully each time they lapped me :)
Back I go to practice. I'd better give it a good week of attempting all tracks at least on Rapier...
(Oh and I should say Task, I was using the AGS because it was the only slow speed high handling ship I could handle before on Rapier/Phantom. Now I am trying out Puma 1...I don't like Goteki, but I like cats...I may try Tigron/Triakis much later...)
Slow speed, high handling? Did you try Van Uber? The shield strength will make all the difference, should help you out.
I was definitely eliminated far easier in the Goteki than in the Tigron, I'll only fly those low-shield ships in TT mode myself.
I'm planning on spending a lot of time in Rapier this weekend as well.

The last days of racing on kai has been amazing. Great fun to have Matthijs on the tracks. :g

WooHoo!! WiFi MAX arrived via courier today - im (semi) redy for a butt-whupping on Kai. i cut my left hand quite badly yesterday at work though, so im afraid competitiveness will be shortcoming. im just gonna chill in the Pure arena for a bit.
Q_DMC made my first taste of multiplayer WipEout a harsh one - he thrashed me to bits. looks like i need some practise.
But, in my defense, my hand is pretty mangled - i needed to replace all my bandages after an ascension because they were starting to look a bit scruffy!
