Boost BR start is faster for sure but its hard to do it right.
I also do a SS br onto 3 pads.
Must put this all together for under 22 :D

I haven't played WO in what feels like ages, but it felt good to get back to it after mainly playing bayonetta the last 2-3 weeks! That game has way too many pauses in the gameplay.
Didn't take too long to get the feel of the game back; 22.28, 11 speed pads, fury pirhana.
Just .02 off my best time, which for some reason doesn't seem to appear on the leaderboards despite showing 22.26 as my lap time to beat in-game and in my personal records... and i got it ages ago.
main way I think I could improve my time is fixing up the start; it's one of the most difficult to get right in the game. Other than that I think my laps are alright, with just a few minor things to fix which vary lap to lap...

Stay further over to the right than you think you should and sideshift left + nose up. This means resisting the urge to SS right on the pad as you exit the tunnel but you get used to it :)
augh that one is such a pain; I was coming out of the tunnel, hitting the SP in a straight line, and then I would start that corner as far left as possible, BR quickly and land right in the middle of the 3 speed pads sitting in a triangle. When I managed to do it (I think my success was apx 50%), it seemed very easy, almost embarrassingly easy... It added insult to injury when I started having trouble with it lol

Well it can be done over to the left but sometimes the BR won't register/complete itself because of the wall on the left-hand side. You can skip over the wall for the BR which is nice and fast but more often than not you'll end up facing the other direction.
There's also a doubleBR going into the tunnel (after the boost) but it's more trouble than it's worth and has to be done really well in order to get even a tiny advantage over your ghost. But it's there if you want it :+

That double BR, how did you do that? Boost after a left hander, go close to the left wall (there's a small bump) and BR again befor the hill? Or you mean double BR on that hill after the straight?
You can also double a Zico BR. Do a first BR as early as you can, land as close as you can with pitch down, SS right + pitch up. It's VERY hard but some people can do it (---> xbarnsterx)
Actually you can do both, I tried them both yesterday and they both work :D
I managed to do the double on the overpass a few times but when I am on a good lap I get quite nervous so I always go for a safe single BR onto the overpass. I would make a video but my camera is broken at the moment so I can't at the moment.
I only do 5BRs/lap but in the optimum lap I think there are 9BRs :rock
C'mon Yeldar, use a mobile phone or anything to record it :)
Long time ago i posted AP venom video where i did a double on the overpass with turbo (the very first one in this vid). I managed to do it WITHOUT turbo on phantom class :) Keep left, SS right + pitch, BR over the gap, tap the overpass and BR again o_O

Go away for a few days, and what happens... Yeldar and Wotan come out of semi-retirement, grrr!! ;). Thought I may of been on for a TT and SL first place.
One thing I've realized in doing these Speed laps is that I am crap at phantom. Only taken about a year and a half to figure it out :lol. I'll give it a go later.
Well officially I'm playing ninja gaiden sigma 2 but I couldn't resist my fave speedclass/ship/track combo ^_^
damn it, what am I doing wrong?!?!?! If I screw up before the tunnel, I can pull off the remaining 2 BRs at the end, if I play perfect (or at least better than my ghost) all the way through the tunnel, I screw up one of the 2 remaining BRs!! it's driving me mad.
and 99 laps only got me 2/100ths of a second better even once I managed to pull off 5BRs again >_<

@Mr.Wolf, for that 3rd br, keep the left-hander (after narrow section) very tight on exit with a left ss, leaving you a longer straight to the br
well i'm probably getting older cos' i simply don't understand how and where do you guys are pulling a 5th br on this track. i remember your ninja gaiden anulpha vid yeye, as far as i remember you made 4 brs for a 20.04. so i can imagine your margin with this 5th one. but wth, where is it? still don't understand your explanations guys, sorry.

Personally I don't find Icaras as fast (or as pretty...or as nice to fly) as Icaras+ because it swings around too much in the corners anddoens't seem to hold its speed as well and the HD version. Overall I think that despite the thrust+handling improvements IcaHD is faster for me because it's a much tighter package. A bit like Auricom and Auricom+ - AuricomHD it tight like a drum :g
You sure you got them the right way round in the second line yeldar? For me Fury Ica is pretty much always faster, but I prefer HD Ica. It's just nicer.
Yep...can't get anywhere near any of my times with Ica+. Can't get ANY consistency either. That's probs just cos I'm not used to it. These days I only really use HDIca and Hazza+. Also HD Ica looks cooler in the rankings, it's a retro-chic kinda thing. You know what I mean, I know you do :g

I've got a question for all you guys who always have wicked low times (kanar, wotan, yeldar, etc);
When you get these insanely fast lap times, are they just flukes after hundreds of laps or do you consistently have laps around the same times?
I can't seem to maintain the same racing line all the time, I graze walls and slam into corners, I lose momentum... I don't technically suck at this game but something doesn't seem to click with how to always get good lines.. compare my Anulpha speed lap embarrassment before:

when I play casually, I may not always do perfect laps every time, but it's much easier for me to get repeatedly low times in the earlier games than anything after Fusion. Do I need more practice? Do you guys have the same issues? Or are you Wipeout gods? lol
(also, I miss 30 second phantom laps ;_; )
