Havent seen a retail on it yet. Let alone a fixed AUD price at the moment.
What UK price have you seen it promoted for emerald dragoon?
PSP-GO runs at 480Mhz, unlike the other PSP units that run at a max of 333Mhz.

That's cool! Finally Pulse will run at full speed of 480MHz! Dreams, dreams... ;)
I would like to see that 480Mhz on Pulse too, there would be no drop in the 60FPS for sure, gameplay would be sweet, but the fact is the CPU isnt going to do that for you, you need CFW or something to force it to 480Mhz, similar to as CFW forces the 1000.2000.3000 forces the CPU to 333Mhz. Would be sweet though in gameplay getting that sort of response.
I hope 6.0 or 7.0 versions of original sony firmware will do that real and my favourite game will run at max speed :beer
sorry i didn't reply to you Kigo. i believe it is not fixed, but we're looking to be paying about £215 for a psp go....however the Uk market has shown very very little interest in the product. places advertising pre-orders have stated no pre-orders have been taken, when previously released hardware has always had fair pre-orders.
it will be interesting to see how it pans out as the Uk game market usually jumps straight onto new stuff like this.
perhaps the world is not ready (or maybe willing) to go to download only as Sony would like...
and the retailers...they can try and support this stuff, but if they encourage it, it enevitably leads to their downfall if this is the future. no physical product to sell / no pre-owned. I like digital for a lot of things...but games are expensive and i like seeing i actually own something that is expensive and not going to magically vanish one day when something b*&%ers up.
people seem pretty iffy about it 16gb isnt alot of space, plus this thing would of been so much better if it had a camera and most importantly a SIM card input so you could use it as a phone.
Then this would sell. People are still pretty iffy about it.
"but games are expensive and i like seeing i actually own something that is expensive and not going to magically vanish one day when something b*&%ers up."
Exactly. If I pay for something, I want to OWN it, and keep it as long as I want to use it. Maybe even longer. ;)
Also, i prefer a physical product over a digital file any day.
16gb is not a lot. if you can't sell old games on, to then get another game, you're gonna wanna keep what you pay for...thus owning a few games like final fantasy vii....which is over 1 gb...you'll soon fill that space, with games and music and suchlike...
so you have to buy the harware,
buy games, which soon adds up as you can't trade (which brings up a huge point which is that gaming has become so big because, yes games and consoles are better, but pre-owned games stores are a big business right now, and have been for a couple of generations of consoles...removing that element could be very bad)
and then you have to buy more memory anyway if you want to continue enjoying the product.
i'm very interested to see how this one pans out.
Remember that DRM on the PSN Store is not very restrictive, so you could delete the games you don't want to play and whenever you want to play them again you can download them once more.
And you could also just back up these downloads to DVDs or a hard drive, and copy them back to your PSP and activate them again by logging on with the PSN account that purchased it to play them.
And most games for PSP are under 1GB. You can probably fit 20 games on the internal memory alone, add a 16GB M2 stick and that's 40 games. To be honest I don't even have that many games for the PlayStation family of consoles alone...
those are some very good points, it's just not for me, i don't particularly want to re-download stuff or buy more memory!!!! :)
but for people who don't mind, it'll probably be a good buy. we shall see.
As always size does matter ;) New console will fit my jeans pocket better than slim. Is there any information about display installled to PSP GO?
It's a 3.8" screen instead of a 4.3", other than that I haven't heard anything. Probably the same characteristics as PSP-3000 (480x272 resolution, etc.)
Touchscreen? how do you think?
Touchscreen in the PSP, would be great, when and if the console has the ability of any 3.5G Network standard phone out there, i want this console to become a mobile phone (or as the yanks call it, a "CELL" Phone). Up the SDD to 32GB from 16GB, then i would be a happy person, also having a 5.0 mp integrated camera in it would be great:)
Another iPhone killer? :lol It will be interesting if Sony will decide to implement SensMe technology to new firmware like in new Sony Ericsson phones... I am using it as mp3 player enough frequently
Ive got a W890i Sony Ericsson Mobile, with a 4GB MS M2 Micro in it. Always good to have your best beats on you a all times:) But the XMB music setup in the PSP, is bloody great. One stupid problem is you have to insert, 01,02,03,04 etc, is in front of every single track, if you want it playing in order, since the stupid thing likes to organise music by alphabetical order, not by its track number.
I am glad Sony makes new advantages in their music devices! The way of choosing music must to be more intuitive because one's music collection is growing everyday and alphabetical way of music selection is not convenient especially as in PSP
I'm happy with a phone that has no camera and doesn't play music; I'd prefer that the PSP eschew all that extra stuff and just be an even better games machine each time a new model is released. Put the design and manufacturing efforts into that, please.
Hear hear! We want a better gaming device. Not a glorified i-phone. Or a video camera. Games provide more fun than the video capture of a fond memory... no cam on psp please.
I remember Sony and BT partnered up to bring us PSP Go! No one used it. lol. So they abandoned it.
wait... sony advertised psp as universal device to watch pictures, listen music, surf web pages, watch movies and to play games... even to talk with friends with skype or use it like gps receiver... so some people from sony have another point of view ;)
Yes - their idea of what we wanna do with our PSP's and our idea of what we wanna do with our PSP's is different...
I got a phone. And Camera. And MP3 player. All in one unit already... My Mobile phone lol...
My gaming device should be just that - a gaming device. At least it'll keep the cost down if they stuck to making it a gaming device and nothing more huh?
WHo actually used the Go! messenger service? coz I thought it was a load of rubbish!!!
okay some functions are not necessary but it would be great if in new PSP GO will get some new feautures like background voice chat while playing game or custom music from any game... remember that additional MHz's? it would be very useful :naughty
that's a good idea. voice communication between 2 peeps who are playing together online!
yes.
This information was rebutted. PSP Go! has 480 MHz electronic block but it does not have any relation to CPU
About future developments... Sony will reduce price for their SDK so developers could be more interested in creating software and selling it in PlayStation Store officially but not spreading homebrews. (Do you remember situation with iPhone's AppStore? ;)) So let's wait for new unique software!
Just wondering who out there has the intent to purchase Gran Turismo and or Motorstorm Arctic Storm?
These games look sweet,
Ive put a pre order down on Gran Turismo PSP Limited Edition. This game looks really impressive. I cant wait to race some of you guys online with these games.
You will only be able to race through kai or some ps3 thing. There's no infrastructure mode for GTP.
I'll probably buy it when I evaluate it enough and find it worth buying. :)
Ive got the PSP-1000 as you might know, i bought a MS DUO Mark2 8GB, a few months ago now, its only crashed a few times on Pulse, other than that, it has been good. Its great now since ive got my music stash on it now (well a small proportion of it now). Works good. I might upgrade to a larger one in the near future.
On a different note, i called Sony spare parts Australia today, to chase up after a PSP-1000 battery, the guy was being very cunty to me. I asked do you have PSP-1000 original charge length battery's in stock. The guy says, "With a console of that age your best to buy a 3rd party one". Like hello ****. i want to buy something and your not being helpful. 3rd party ones are crap, and they dont have as much charge as of a original branded one. Bastard i was speaking to was over in Sydney. Total knob he was. So im stuck with my limited charge battery that came with my PSP when i bought it back at its launch in 2005.
But, when the PSP-Go has a phone feature in it, that is when ill purchase a new PSP and phone, but in the mean time im sticking with my PSP-1000 unit. All is good.
Well in all fairness, the PSP-1000 stopped manufacturing ages ago and they probably stopped producing the batteries as well
There should be a stock pile of unsold battery's. For customers who own that product, stingy bastards. Guy was a **** on the phone, expecting me to purchase some third party useless crummy ****. Bugger that, im going to hold onto my 1000 unit, until there is a PSPGo-Phone on the market to purchase.
Original Sony batteries are still aviable in stores. Sony has enough good service and they couldnt stop selling original components for fat psps:)
That what i asume as well Night. There somewhere. I think there stock up somewhere just not yet to be sold to customer who want them, knowingly what SCEA what the owners will do with them... create pandora battery's out them. That why they wont sell them anymore. Im not buying third party ****, i never do, since they are crap.
Give 12months, there will be a PSPGo-Phone on the market, that ill buy, so ill what till then to upgrade. Still the PSP-1000 is a great unit. That my bat is on its last legs, barely enough for me to enjoy Gran Turismo PSP, that'll i will purchase next month.
You can call in the Sony's support in your region and ask them about battery replacement ;)
Thats exactly what i did. I call Sony Australia Spare parts, and spoke to a knob.
If Sony Australia doesnt have them, i dont know who does. I beat there is somewhere in this state where they sell these batterys just not sure where atm.
Tried going to an electronics store? Here they don't have the regular black ones anymore, but they have the extended charge batteries for the PSP-1000, which add about 2 hours of charge afaik (I have one.)
Its Perth DD, you cant find **** here. One cause the shops have retarded trading hours, two most places just stock crap, three its the most isolated city on Earth.
But if i do come across the official extended life PSP-1000 Battery, im much happy to buy that, im not touching that 3rd party ****. Problem is stuff would have to be brought over from Sydney. But im going to give some more places a try later on today when i have a break.
So the extended life battery's are 2200mHa.
