Ive got the 1990 S-NES F-Zero game, tracks are fully retro, but, i have not a ****ing clue what those links do and how to convert the files into readable audio files.

If you'd like i could write a more detailed guide (probably in a new thread) on exactly how to get the original SNES (and possibly NES) soundtracks to MP3.
That would be helpful. Thanks
i finished the guide, and posted it here:
http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/sho...d.php?p=102992
hope that helps
I highly recommend the legendary psychedelic/goa trance masters Astral Projection. Part of my WipEout HD mix includes their Mahadeva, Aqua Line Spirit, and Power Generator tracks among other more progressive and hard house stuff from Solid Globe, Phase, Dirt Devils, and many more. They seem to really complement the highly energy pace of Phantom speed racing above all else ;)
If you like hard rock you definitely have to try Motörhead!
Ace of Spades is a MUST HAVE in your wipeout playlist! :rock
Funnily enough i was referring to that amazing group from Istrael to one of my dear friend from the Zone through msn and loll he said please wait a sec i got a pic for you : and he show me him with Astral projection greetings together. :O
I had my Goa period 10 years ago and still have that particular track into my beloved best of :)
Proto, you should also try enlightened evolution, virtual booster, searching for UFOs, Kabalah and Nilaya. use these songs from Astral Projection - In The Mix
Because is a nonstop album and the beat kicks in right on the 1st sec. Ideal for WO :D
For those who like Drum N'Bass, SPOR!!! eheehh
anything from...

Here's my custom soundtrack, a little much perhaps, I meant to cut it down a bit to save on hard drive space but hey at least there's variety unlike hearing the same goddamn 8 tracks repeat themselves.

anything from following artists and labels:
*Noisia (their fabric live mix was sooooo badass) and vision records. we've all heard seven stitches from wipeout, that song was just one of many. these guys are "teh awesomez".
*teebee and calyx, their solo stuff and their stunning colab "anatomy". calyx is the only guy to rival noisia for sheer awesome badassness.
*full cycle records esp. early krust (nicely satisfies my lust for big stupid mid 90s dnb) and awesomeness of fullcycle live CDs (everytime i've seen reprazent roni has been kinda sloppy but dynamite has been awesome, he's a genius - and i've touched both roni and dynamite on separate occasions! anyway full cycle live 2 is great for online racing, gets me pumped)
*anything truplayaz/ganja kru mark 1 (ditto satisfying lust for mid/late90s dumb n bass etc etc). closer, one life and stronger are all super awesome tunes wipeout
*my all time fave label, moving shadow records (esp. omni trio, dom & roland, early ez rollers). timecode's legendary cheapo mixups are solid gold for playing wipeout. ooh AQUASKY!!!
*some* good looking records (early, pre-mediocre bukem and conrad go really well for zoning out on phantom speed laps on pretty tracks eg. vineta k),
*breakbeat kaos (esp. Adam f's drum n bass warfare mixup by DJ craze, one of the most badass cheesy drum n bass/hip hop crossover records of all time). adam f's classic circles was pre-breakbeat kaos (i think hospital or his early label f-jams) but it's great for zone, an epic cd that also deserves to be listened to alone with your eyes closed and the headphones on.
*just about anything metalhedz of course! (incl. guys who have on again/off again relationship with the hedz eg. the legendary grooverider, the genius that is photek (esp. early stuff and solaris). and goldie! (I touched him once too, helping him get off the stage when he came down onto the dancefloor after the set to shake people's hands. such a gentleman!!! and another time i saw him on a 40 degree day. it was so hot the decks were burning his hands but when the roadies put up a sunblock he asked them to get rid of it because it stopped him from being able to see the audience. awesome, awesome guy)
*some* hospital records (they have some mediocre artists for sure). high contrast's high society album was an absolute classic.
*not the biggest ed rush and optical fan but the creeps is always great for wipeout, esp. white lightning and reach out.
*mix cds by craze and nicky blackmarket, and *some* andy c (and a few dj marky mixups too, he's maybe a bit poppy for my tastes though). good undemanding stuff for background music for racing
*few stragglers: disc one of klute's emperor's new clothes is a great wipeout cd - instrumental with mostly quick beginnings (no listening to intros that last until the race is over), bad compny's recent "inside the machine" (not as epic as their old stuff but again goes well with wipeout), aphrodite (esp. self titled first album & aftershock - again, quick intros = good racing. kinda poppy but hey it's classic stuff)
btw i like drum n bass
then youll love this mix m8, its one of the best for the game, 6-2004 Katch 22 DnB Mix, link: http://www.247drumandbass.com/mp3.php
An album thats really been working for me is Disk 2 of Cause 4 Concern by Pandemic. Soundbytes available here: http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc...ack=C4CUKCD001
I never used to think Drum & Bass suited Wipeout but this album goes so well with it, its all ive used since I copied it to my HD.
does anyone know where i can get the ed rush, optical and frontline track from the original soundtrack from? i've got all the others and want to add it to my custom playlist (which includes music spanning all previous wipeouts). the g.a.m.e 3.0 album has some good stuff too. i'll review my playlist when i get home then i'll whack it on here.
edit: some kind soul (insertcoin) helped me out on that one, i'll put my playlist up soon.
Just want to say thank you for everyone who has been contributing to this thread, its a great source of information. I don't have just one play list myself but have several spanning different style's. Once I have a bit of time I will write them all down and post them here. Keep it up everyone ;)
Every prodigy album (obviously!)
Pendulum-In silico (great tracks on there)
Faithless-insomnia (try it on zone! perfect tempo!)
Everything of:
Prodigy
Daft Punk
Audio Bullys
Noisia
Black sun empire

:)
Yeah you should definatly check out Noisia as trk_rkd said. Its FabricLive 40. and you can get samples of the tracks here: http://www.fabriclondon.com/label/re...?item=fl40/noi
Its drum and bass if your into it but it fits really well with HD.
http://www.amazon.com/Hard-NRG-Album...2060277&sr=8-1
Disc 2 of HardNRG by Ministry of Sound, and of course, the WO2097 and 3SE soundtracks!
That Noisia CD's excellent (apart from about two thirds of the way through, im not a fan of 'Brown Time')! Im also liking Black Sun Empire, their album Cruel and Unusal (http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc...Track=BSECD002) goes quite well, although I do prefer Pandemic 'Cause 4 Concern).
check out this songs....your experience will be totally different now

It's still missing couple of tracks from Sven Wittekind and Mike Wade, i may upload them to youtube myself. On some of the tracks i had to chop off minute or two from the start with Goldwave, so they would get going before finishline :lol
Nice tracks deepmix. That Motehras tune is great, clearly the best of those five.
Ah, a Natus fan! Hes got to be my favourite Hard Techno producer so far!
As a rocker Ive got to say I LOVE racing to "The Immigrant Song" by Led Zep. Got loads of old cheesey trance tracks too, my fave being "Dreams" by Quench. Cheesetastic!
:eek - y'know, in my real life apart from wipEout, I mostly listen to classic rock, but it never seemed to fit all to well with wipEout for me. But then I never tried the Immigrant Song with it - really works! Must've to do with the riding beat, there must be others that fit well. I tried all of Wolfmother - one of my favorite bands - but it simply won't fit...
Yeah I definately know what you mean with the rock music, some of it just doesn't go and ends up putting you off your stride. I do have a few other rock tracks on my playlist though, I'm a massive Queens of the Stoneage fan and most of their songs work really well....I think sick, sick, sick is a good one, but I love em all. Other than that I've got some Kyuss, Black keys, Primal Scream (Miss Lucifer and Swastika Eyes are good ones), Beastie Boys and some random 80's rap hehe (along with all of the fluke, prodigy, FSOL, Chem Bros etc). Some rock music really does fit well...as does a bit of Bowie...Lets dance! :lol
stinkleroy, Nadia Elenova, and LordOmega clearly have similar-ish taste to me as these are my favs so far, some of which those guys/gals have already posted.

Stockhom Syndrome - Muse
Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist - Muse
Weenie Beenie - Foo Fighters

Finally, my personal biggest fav....

Think they're all available for a listen on either amazon or youtube.
Hehehe @ Be quick or be dead comment...I can just imagine what that brainstorming session would have been like......
Nice List :D

Am I the only one here who rocks out to NIN in WOHD?
I mean there isn't much that can top cranking Discipline while unloading a Plasma in Phantom.
I've got multiple playlists for WOHD - because it was just waaay too bipolar with all of my music in just one, I had to sub-divide. This is just a very limited idea of what's in these lists.
Angry Wipeout - NIN, Offspring, Korn, Zombie, Orgy, Econoline Crush, Stabbing Westward (you get the gist of this grouping)...
Wipeout - all my favorites from EVERY Wipeout game (ripped from most of the game discs themselves), in addition: Infected Mushroom, Cirrus, Juno Reactor, Paul Hartnoll, Noisia, FSOL, Banco De Gaia, Dreamweaver...
Zone - Mainly relaxing trance type to keep your cool during Zone. FSOL Papa New Guinea (mello magic maze mix), Lisa Miskovsky, Banco De Gaia, Cold Storage...
Man, papua new guinea is one of my all time favourite dance tracks!
Haha yeah I think there's at least 400 versions of it by now :p
I used to have the original on 12" vinyl and although I don't actually have a turntable anymore it still remains my fave. Had to have a bit of "we have explosive" on there too :lol
Papua new guinea is my all time favorite dance track.
Robert miles - Children. Is very good for Zone i think as well.
At the moment I'm rocking instead of dancing.
The Stone Roses - Begging You
Led Zeppelin - Misty mountain Hop
Jimi Hendrix - Crosstown Traffic
The Pixies - Debaser
Kasabian - Club Foot
The Black Keys - Have love will travel
Hawkwind - silver machine (one for the Bling Brigade)
Thought I'd share my personal WipEout playlist...one song for every track...it's kinda all over the place, much like my broad taste in music, but I like it...LOL. It alternates between male and female vocalists:
1) Better Off Alone - Alice Deejay
2) The Distance - Cake
3) Not Gonna Get Us - t.A.T.u.
4) Mr. Self Destruct - Nine Inch Nails
5) Stakeout - Freezepop
6) Them Bones - Alice in Chains
7) Tesko Suicide - Sneaker Pimps
8] Killing In The Name - Rage Against The Machine
9) Sugar Is Sweeter - CJ Bolland
10) Holier Than Thou - Metallica
11) Sugar - Ladytron
12) The Sharpest Lives - My Chemical Romance
13) Boys Wanna Fight - Garbage
14) Jerry Was A Race Car Driver - Primus
15) Ready To Go - Republica
16) Forest - System of a Down
