I never was a big fan of some of the colour schemes but, while almost everything is open to interpretation, I can't help but feel you've stretched that a bit far. The amount of time spent from Rapier to Phantom isn't particularly long. I think if the design were trying to punish your masculinity somehow it would surely make you put up with more feminine colours for longer, colours which are only really feminine by association anyway. I can't think that it's any more of an affront to someone's masculinity than the rest of the game is to femininity, what with all the big engines and big explosions etc. Rapier is just a speed class, and has been for some time. I've lived with plenty of girls and can genuinely say I've never experienced the "rotten volcanic acrimony of a woman's emotions during her period". If you can honestly find that kind of meaning from simple colours, which I believe in the past have been associated more with masculinity than femininity, then I think it reflects more deeply on you as an individual than either the design of the game, woman as a group, or indeed men as a group. I can think many men would find that sort of interpretation from the colours in zone mode simply because they are male.
Still, it's an interesting POV, even if I don't think it's one I could ever personally appreciate.
