Looking good so far Seek100, keep up the good work ^_^

Well, I'm back from my (totally deserved) exile. To begin with, here's (a smaller version of ) the image I posted that quite rightly got me banned. I had included a long apology about how it was just a modified Feisar skin with some boldinated colours and to Fascia for the fact that I had unwittingly copied him. Anyway, Dogg's union flag Feisar encouraged me to post this, which is the skin I usually race in in the single-player campaign, nothing exciting, but I quite like it.

So, aside from that, in my exile I have been working on something else. With the upcoming English language version of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, I couldn't help but feel that one FFVII skin wasn't enough, so I made this:

A Feisar tribute to the ever-so-short-lived Tiny Bronco. Something totally different to the previous retro skins I've been making. While they were what I would consider very simple and fairly effective this one was very complicated to do and somehow not so effective. It took a heck of a lot of work in terms of colour management and in creating the weathered painjob in the reddish sections entirely using MSPaint's pencil tool, and while I think it's almost certainly my most technically advanced skin I'm somehow not pleased with the result. I think it's missing something. Anyhow, here are some more detailed views:

And AAX, those are some nice skins, I have to say I prefer Fascia's version of the Chibby-Feisar (spelling?) His looked more 'clean' but yours is good too and the Union Flag and the beloved EU flag are nicely done.

The FF stuff is totally lost on me - hate the games, but that is one sweet skin you've made there that rust effect must have taken hours.

Anyway, I got bored of grinding Scourge in WPL on Warcrack so I put some Sisterhood and Sisters of Mercy on, cranked it up and got back to work resulting in:

I've just got to add a Feisar logo and pilot markings, I'm gonna do one with Sophia de la Renté's markings like the original image to publish and then one more personalised which I'll hoard like a greedy so and so. :P

...and from there? How do you paste the image from the clipboard to the skin editor? I've tried and it won't let me.

Open the colour palette again and click on the clipboard that says "paste" ;)

I should make something other than a Feisar skin every now and then.

Anyway, I've been trying for quite a while to come up with something to use as my own racing skin that looks original but also that really fits the team design. I think I've finally come up with something I like:

Yeah, I tried that but it wouldn't do anything. Does it have to be a particular file?

You don't want to copy the actual file, it's just the flat image that you need to select and copy.

Sure:

Open your image in Microsoft paint. Press ctrl+A (a dotted line should appear around the outside of the image) then ctrl+c. Then go into the editor, click the pallette followed by the clipboard icon.

GTAce, can’t wait to see what you will come up for that Solaar Qirex. It is going to be quite a challenge do to the new shape of the ship. So far I can’t imagine anything more then a green Qirex.

Seek100, wonderful Feisar, beautiful in deed :clap looks just like the one in the front screen of W’O’’1. I never understood why did they made different designs for the Video and for the in game. Really good work especially if you think there isn’t much visual reference for that design.

AXX, be careful in the future. It is really a shame not to have you around for something that can be avoided. Better use the icon so this way you won’t have to worry about posting images to big by mistake.
I like the Faisar ( the first one ) just as I liked Fascias which I believe to be the most clean personalization so far . It probably doesn’t matter but if you look here

you can see the Xios logo. So I believe the “Chiby” is in fact EG-X’s mascot, not Feisar’s.
For the Tiny Bronco , as usual only superlatives as each and every time you bring us a new concept. I have no idea haw you picture these things up. Without seeing the Feisar I wouldn’t even link the 2 ships for the same pattern . they are so different in shape.
As for your last Feisar skin, it is absolutely better then the Chiby one, I guess if you can it would look nicer if you could ad some …dirt? I mean the kind of wear that forms from smoke and blasts.
Also one question: QirexAXX in a Feisar ?!?!! I thought you are racing Qirex!
Oh, one more thing : how are things going with the WO3 collection. I’m still waiting for your version of the Assegai, AGS, Icaras & Auricom. :p

Zargz, haw can you say what your speed class is ? I reached the 3rd grid of Phantom and I can’t really say I have much trouble winning. On the other hand in Pure I sure sweat for a gold at rapier. I mean is there a way in saying “I’m that good as to be called a [speed-class] pilot”?

As for my self I have begun to upgrade a bit my Blue Grin design as I still have some colors available. Hopefully around Monday I’ll be able to come up with some pictures.

Well i'm new to the custom skinning scene, but here is my first attempt on an assegai, I really need to "dirty" it up, and add in some more detail, it just seems too plain at the moment, any suggestions?

as mentioned there is now a "Retro/Remake" catagory for skins, theres no subcatagories in there so if you do say a Wip3out style Feisar then youd post it there etc

hmm .. good question ric.
guess I was thinking in which class I feel comfortable racing.
online I race mostly flash but now with some pilots from here
I've just started joining rapier races as well. though there I lack the controll I (think) have in flash.
perhaps other way is seeing on what class you can do PLs!

yesterday I actually unlocked phantom grids 2, 3 and 4 without racing a sigle Single Race or tournament
just bouncing of the walls on TTs, speed laps and some eliminators
so I guess the people bitching about ph. TT and speed lap being too easy were right.
it seem like rapier was harder.
Although the Races in Phantom, SR and Tournaments, are a totally different story!!! :eek
I've Only won One phantom race
the talon white on the 1st phantom grid.

btw as I remember there were a few phantom TTs in Pure that also were easyer than in rapier.

so ..

I guess it's up to you to 'brand' yoursef - [speed class] pilot. ;)

I think the ' I'm comfortable with x-class racing' is a good system 8)

Zargs, when I said I reached the 3rd grid I meant I won all the races so far, but I can’t really place myself anywhere. I’ll try to put it in an other way : is there anybody who can say that in phantom on a technical circuit like Outpost 7 would get most of the times PL? In Gran Turismo you know when you get good, the AI doesn’t handle the challenge anymore, but here every time I get in SR I feel …just lucky. Is it easier to race online with vets then with an aggressive AI? It is off topic, I know but still, since it came up here.

The Muse, really nice skin there but why did you rushed it? The Q logos are not symmetrical and the lines in it are absent, also many details are not finished, why ? Disregarding these small details the design adaptation is surprisingly good. Perhaps you will give it a second look so it could become a star :g?

Oops, I just noticed I spelled Qirex wrong. In my mind it had always been Quirex. ;) About the original Qirex: I didn't rush it, I just don't have everyday access to the internet, so I couldn't test until today (I use internet at my mom's, I don't have it at home, yet). Also, I didn't mean to make an exact copy of the original Wipeout Qirex. As the shape of the Pulse Qirex is already different, I thought I could make some other modifications as well, to make it look better in general. Maybe I'll work on a complete copy (as far as that's possible) next week. :)

I didn’t mean it wasn’t an exact copy of the previous. Just that the details you have placed already could be more …clear. But if you haven’t done it at home then it is understandable. Just keep up the good work, it has potential ( what am I saying it is already looking good!?!!??)

Of course I don't mind, would be good to see the Ken Solaar Qirex online as well! Like your skin so far, too. For me, it's time to start thinking on a new project. This Qirex was my first skin. Seeing that most classic skins have already been made, and there's only still two Triakis skins on Wipeoutskins, I think I'll go for that one. :)

Well, basically when I started playing I was pretty sure Qirex was going to be the team for me, but everything else aside I just prefer the Feisar craft aesthetically to any of the others. Now it's too late to be FeisarAAX ^_^

I've had a bit of a break from the WO3 ships but I will be back onto them this weekend I suppose. Hopefully I should have the lot finished fairly soon.

Im not so familiar with WO3 so is this just because of curly (so self made) or is it a skin from an wip3out craft?

I like it but if its self designe you should add more of this awesome green, maybe a small stripe on each of the wings or something.

Oh, yeah, of course, I don't consider it to be finished, I was just playing around with it and if there were any particular curly fans on here I might make it into a full ship, otherwise I'll probably just file it and likely forget about it.

By all means YES!!! Man you make them seam so easy to do. I thought about a black ship that wouldn’t be just black but rather dark…(side of the force :p). I’m not sure what is on top but Curly sure looks good on this. Man you could leave it like this and still it would look good. Suggestions? I don’t dare to make any. Not so early in its development anyway. Finish it, please, it is a super idea.

Hmmm... I've decided to move onto skinning Qirexs now thats my favourite team, but I'm having trouble coming up with my ideas... I was thinking of something in the style of my Assegai, but that would look too plain on a Qirex...

I think Kel would be happy, though he never does look happy even when he wins. One thing, the original ship was filled with a textured green rather than a solid green, and this might look better. It`s in the menus file I think, and you can use photoshop texture editor to fill areas with it.

Yep i must try this, i just hope it wont brake the color limit or looks blocky...
