Original Ship Design

And here is my current W30 ship progress.

I'm currently going for quantity over quality, and then I'm going to go back over them all when I'm done and touch them up a bit and make sure they have the same sort of style right through the set.

EDIT: I should mention BARTgai gave me a hand with some finishing touches on the Feisar. Thanks BART.

The Goteki is perfect, QirexAAX, as is the Feisar of course. Their shapes are nicely similar to the W3O versions. We'll have the whole game replicated in no time!

Wanted a WO3-AG-SYS, but I wanted it to match Pulse's style, so I just used the WO3 craft as a reference but added a lot more details. So now it's basically just another AG-SYS skin but with the WO3 logo on it.
I tried to modify the ship's surface a bit by adding more pipes and intakes so it's a bit different to the original shape.

Adding other stuff would just lead in to a bad result.
And i saw today that its yellow around the numbers so i fixed this.

GTAce, the ships look stunning. The vertical stripes works superbly. I guess I don’t have to say that, IMO, the Golf is no longer your best skin :p , and the “2” ….well, let us say it has the same effect Lion’s 2097 Qirex had.

AXX, seeing the Goteki was enough shock, but seeing all the 3 ships in W3O style display is just too much. I don’t even have words to express my joy when I see the wonders that come out of your hands. Soon I won’t even notice it as it has become a habit: „Good job. What is next?”
The same goes to Dogg Thang, you just made me loose an entire hour out of my game progress, just for fooling around with your Assegai( :( it is most unfortunately dough that that compromise had to be made, a lot of that magnificent blue was lost).
CR4SH3D, maybe this kind of skins should be placed in a separated folder. In time wipeoutskins will become so thick that those recreated wonders will get lost between concepts. Just a thought.

Well, it's a mixture between not fussing too much about getting things exactly right at this stage, and also having plenty of time while looking giving the appearance of being hard at work.

Huge thanks to Ricanbleu for proving the reference for this baby. Couldn't have done it without it. Accepting that the modern Feisar does not match the shape of the WO1 craft, I wanted to create a sort of tribute craft. Like this was made in Pulse era as a tribute to the classic.

I'm really happy with this one. It achieves many things in one, all thanks to the original WO1 colours. It is striking from a distance. It has details (like the slogan) that I enjoy just knowing are there and, most of all, it looks really good from the back, which is where I see most. So here it is -

And just got the 8 done at lunch. Because this one is white, I ended up with an extra colour or two so got to put a couple of yellow lights on, which was nice. I don't think the Union Jack side worked as well as the slogan on the last one but I thought the idea was fitting.

Looks stunning and the idea of the Union Jack works just perfectly. One thing dough : if I wouldn’t know that the pilot is british I wouldn’t think of the UK flag.

I think your iron Feisar is just wonderful, QirexAAX. One of my faves.

Nice work Dogg. It was ace already but the flag is definitely more recognisable now. As with GTAce's AG-Sys skins I can't appreciate it as much as I might, as I am totally unfamiliar with wipeout '1' but that doesn't make it look any less cool.

REALLY beautiful presentation out there AXX. The last part can still be worked in terms of graphics, but I guess it is quite hard to make something look like 2208 isn’t it ? Also the label under the Future press statement still reads 2008. But these are just details. The story and the pictures are state of art. Superb job!

Dogg Thang - That Feisar is "Incredible"..... Kudos to you, and please keep on making these incredible skins, they're great just to look at, let alone race with! :)

i will add a new catagory called "classic" skins or something and then probably place all retro skins under there, not catagorised by teams, but i will be able to move them myself so its all good :)

This is a VERY and i mean VERY early work in progress of my wipEout 1 Qirex.
A lot of work because of the shape, impossible to copy the original one 100%...

Ive never been one to dabble with photoshop, my most testing skills come from Microsoft Paint :P

Can you actually import images into the editor or can you only work with the tools there? Also I found the colour scheme was set for each section of the ship and only when you complete blank canvas the ship can you start messing around- otherwise you are altering the specific colours?!

To be brutally honest I can only see me using some user created skins because my attempts would look lamer than the defaults lol.

the colors are set for each ship when it first loads, but once you make the craft a solid color, you can pick the colors for the other 15

and yes, you can import/export between the editor and photoshop ( or ms paint in your case :) )

It's a very early WIP shot, but you get the idea. I've still gotta add some shading and detail, and logos and such, gonna give it the 2097 Feisar logo and some personal tag or sumat :D
