You know what really grinds my gears....

I like "annywho". I'm always having to hold back on that one because I use "anyway" a lot, when preparing to sign off. In general I think language doesn't annoy people if someone makes a mistake, but it does if people are using it wrongly while thinking it's correct, especially if it makes no sense, i.e. the "could care less" thing.

Public transport is grinding my gears again. Back at work for only two days and it's failed twice already. Yesterday I waited ages for a tube. Today the tubes were fine and the trains were screwed up. It's always one of the other. :rolleyes:

Find out midway through that you need precision screwdrivers to open the blu-Ray drive to get the disc out.

Got precision screwdrivers in a Christmas cracker a few weeks ago.

I have to admit that overall this experience is quite pleasant though. I mean, sure it sucks that YLOD happens but it's kind of cool to open that baby up and try and save it (backup, hard-drive already formatted.)

I'm so annoyed that I can't find my camera cable anywhere. A while ago I took all my USB cables and put them in one place. Now I can't find the camera one at all. It's a proprietary USB cable that also acts as the charger cable and not having it makes my camera unusable. It's doing my head in. I've checked every single draw. I've drastically tidied my room. I now have almost two completely empty draw as a result of what I've thrown out and yet I still can't find the bugger. Gaaaaaah! This is what trying to be organised gets me.:bomb

Yeah, hopefully the new PS3s don't have the same problem because I think I'll get one of those after I've done the back up, relegating the old one to secondary usage or no usage at all.
Sure, PS2 compatibility is nice, but I've almost never used it.

So I found out yesterday why some of the all threads didn't work.
The ones that work are made in USA. The ones that do not work are made in China.

People who spit... especially the ones who cough up big flem wads and gob it onto a ledge or leave it hangin on something, like a shop door handle haha! my friends were Sick.
If my brew went cold i wouldn't re-heat it.. re-heating milk is bad for your gut, i wont go into detail lol. make a new one or open a window :lol

i spit alot but its short and done with and i at least turn away from people when i do it.
with the re-heating milk thing surely the milk,coffie & sugar:water ratio is so great it wouldnt make a diffrence?? im no sciencetist but hey it still tastes the same :D

Why do you spit? i used to when i was a kid. i can understand footballers doing it because there mouths turn all gloopy.

spitting is disgusting. i view all people that spit in public as sub animal garbage... i think its still illegal as well in uk.

footballers spitting on pitch is disgusting too but most are just yobs anyway when you see all the intershagging and drink binges.with an exception of a few.

Theres no need to spit at all, its not like you have an excess of 'spit' that you need to get rid of? were not camels and don't have foot and mouth so there's no excuse. not just yobs either, i saw some little old man with a walking stick coming out the pub the other day, you know looked harmless enough, then he just started snorting and spitting all over the place WTF?!?!?!

& whats wrong with microwaving milk? i thought i saw once that there was some perfect recipe to make tea that involved microwaving the milk first, (possibly i might have just imagined this :P)

What grinds my gears is that I have an insane amounts of homework I got from college. It's driving me crazy! :brickwall

When I wake up for the third day with a throbbing headache and swollen glands and sore throat and go out in the morning darkness only to find that my tire is flat, and then instead of being wise and going back in to bed I walk to work in the -32 Celsius windy weather thereby getting (minor) frostbite on my legs because I no longer own ski pants and then upon getting to work I find that my schedule for the day has been changed without even letting me know! and then once I finally finish my miserable 8 hours of sinus cold misery (did I mention misery) I get the tire guy to come put air in my tire and he drives off expecting me to follow but I only get three car lengths before my car slides off the tracks into the foot or so of snow and is completely stuck so I spend half an hour digging my car out (thankfully the air in the tire lasted so long) before I even get it to the shop! SERIOUSLY, ALL IN ONE DAY??? That, ladies and gentlemen, that is the sort of day that REALLY GRINDS MY REMAINING GEARS.
At least, at the end of this hellish day, there was a beautiful sunset. Oh, and I haven't been notified of any funerals today (yet) so it certainly could have been worse.

Theres nothing wrong with microwaving milk.. its Re-heating thats bad! reheating any dairy product will give u loose stools haha! So get a mug of nice cold milk, heat it up and then leave it on the side for an hour.. then reheat and enjoy!! Thats why most babies always sick white and fill there nappies and constantly cry! because parents constantly reheat the milk in luke warm water and over feed them with bacteria ridden milk leaving them with stomach-ache all night... no sleep for mommy.
Spitting is bad but there is 1 good use for it :p But for sports people spitting is a must, your mouth gets so gloopy you cant swallow it! it just comes back up and that leads to constant swallowing which leads to a sore flemmy cough. But in sport there should be a spit bucket like in boxing...

no one in martail arts comps spit..cos they would get the crap kicked out of them if they did..they just swallow instead.

dont see much on an olympic running track either

@medusa..ouch thats sounds cold..you need a dumb ass bf to do those tire changes for you and get the heating on so you are warm when u get up..they can be trained to do those things you know..i got a book on how to train bf's

Thats because in other sports they only work in short bursts... i see it all the time in mma and track & field events but its been diluted, literally! they have there water bottle and rinse there mouths out... footballers do this too but they have to wait until half time or when an injury occurs! spitting would of been banned other wise.
But i agree that its disgusting and il leave it as that, dont spit unless your prepared to sit in somebody else's.

i dont think smoking helps with my spitting habbit :D

You know what really pisses me off? I just had a shittiest week, went home, my wife just told me, at the back of my house where the water mains from underground and it`s burst, water coming out and guess what?, I will be fixing that F****** pipes sorted and had to tell my neighbours to let them know they won`t be using water tomorrow morning for a few hours.

Why, I`m the only neighbour who can do the job and it`s saves money!

Even worse, I`m desperate for a drink! but I`m not, I am really determined to stay sober till March coming for the opening day and I will get rat arsed!, because, I`m on a diet and it`s going well.

Well either the healthcare on the NHS sucks, or my local hospital does. My dad has gone for a procedure today. His appointment was 10am, but at almost 1pm, he was still waiting. That's ridiculous!:bomb

That's the normal insanity exactly as in Germany. If you have a privat health insurance, you will be treated like a king. You get appointments immediately and don't wait so long for the doctor. But if not..... I had an appointment for a surgery, years ago. I had to wait two days!!

@oryx..have you ever considered using electronic cigarretes.
they got nicotene and even make smoke but not smoke that is bad for you..they say they eliminate 95% of the harm real ciggerettes do and are legal to smoke inside.perhaps you could buy one to help you give up..

@stevie...my water pipes are broken too.i got a leak but i dont know where it is cos its small and constant but my water bill is very high.

Jas!, is it under Tar, Slabs, cement or dirt?, if it`s dirt?, then just dig up and follow the pattern but, is your house private or rent?, if it`s rent?, contact landlord or whatever you deals with.

I managed to give up smoking last year.
I'd tried unsuccessfully to give them away before, then I realized it was every time I had alcohol the craving for a cigarette became too much and I'd cave in, so I gave up the cigs & alcohol on Jan 14th 2010.

I started drinking again 7 months later, but found I no longer had the cigarette craving, so it's been over a year now and I'm sure it's for good :D.

Actually I can't stand the smell of cigarettes now [a sure sign I've given them up for good], and find the smell objectionable if not nauseating when finding myself standing in line next to somebody who smokes, their clothes and breath reek.

Since I quit, the Government in Australia has taxed cigarettes so much in an effort to stop people smoking, they are close to Aus $20 a packet, then you have to find a place to smoke, as most places it is banned now.

Just what I like to here blackwiggle, ridding the world of the scourge that is smoking and one step closer away from climate change
But seriously though, smoking reeks to high heaven, strange to think anybody can start let alone be so difficult to stop.

What's grinding my gears at the moment was the utterly miserable quality of the last Top Gear episode. It's supposed to be a match UK vs Australia top gears, and I thought it'd be quite fun, possibillity of close challenges, a chance to actually be introduced to the Aussie hosts and some amusing moments. But no, of course not. We're going to lark around like this is some kind of sitcom, never allow any proper challenge and treat it like it's an episode of Family Guy. The humour level is low and irritating enough. I can't believe I was actually looking forward to this episode as well. Could have been excellent but instead the only thing we know for sure is that the Stig is a rally driver. :brickwall:mad::-

A few things have gotten my goat lately. And there is nothing I can do about them.

First you should know that I am a window cleaner and in this job I get no respect. Everyone I know frowns at what I do for a living.

Secondly I share my bros PS3 whch is a pain coz I have to beg him to use it. And he likes black ops which I hate.

Thirdly I got some messages from other psn users accusing me of being a second account which has pissed me right off.

And now I just got a phonecall from Andrew who I work with saying he doesn't need me this week. Well that's just lovely eh? Its Valentines in 2 weeks and I'm screwed man. :(

Ion about the second account thing there are 2 sides to that you could take it as an insult but you could also see it as a compliment, being that people think your too bloody fast not to have played the game before... I suppose if you want to be positive about it what they're really saying is that your a fast pilot and anyway who cares about the haters eh? :P

Thank you Oryx. I didn't think of it like that. I be honest and say I didn't feel so fast last night when I got lapped and couldn't complete the race. 20 laps in phantom is too hardcore for me. And for now I think rapier and flash suit me more. I learned a real lesson last night. You guys are very very fast at this game. :) hats off to you all.

Jas, ach!, that`s a tough one for you:blarg, what about your boyfriend or your family who work in the building trades?. You will need a topey key ( water mains) to turn the water off on the pavement or on the road then fixed the burst pipe or you will need to pay min £300 to fix it for you.
