I read in a playstation mag that the 'boards were cover-ups for graphic errors.Is this true?And,in the same article it said that the whole idea was thought of in a drunken conversation in a pub! I don't actually know if this is true (but I would not make this up!)
Well, that last part's pretty much true. Nick and Jim [Burcombe and Bowers] did design the basics of the game while drinking in a pub. Nick tells the story somewhere here in the forums.

Relaxing in a bar seems to be a good way to collect your thoughts and form breakthrough concepts. Or perhaps it's just that if you spend all your free time in a bar, any good ideas you're going to have are likely formed there. 8 )
