Thought I would get in on the designing myself... Here goes: Atauni Velocity Research, an engine developer for the league that constantly tests and provides new engine technology for any team's use that is willing to pay. They could also be the developers of the progressive Zone and Platformer engines.

I will continue to post different variations of the logo and maybe some slogans in the near future.

Hey DDD13: I like this logo ALOT. Very nice work there. Only the black text is a bit small, I guess it will be hard to read if it's going to appear on a billboard.

When you or some other people like to do logos/sponsors/billboards or any other art that goes into advertising direction, try to also think about what other companies could appear in the future [not only directly related to racing]. Especially on city-based tracks like Kealakekua Bay or Cassandra, you would also find cellphone ad, fast food, hotels & traveling, ag-bikes or whatnot :D Ideas like those would be very much appreciated since they add a very nice detail to the game and make it much more colorful.

Also animated billboards can be done. We can't promise to use 'em all right away so maybe start off with a concept and if it receives "likes", continue from there. Animations should only last for 2-4 seconds though and should be rather small since they can consume lots of disc space easily.

Alright, thanks for the support. I'll work on some non-racing sponsors, things that are unique yet functional. I'll get back to ya when I have one done! :)

Cheers,

Edit: What software would your recommend for animations? I'm not very advanced in the tech world, just working with what I've got, but I'd be glad to give animation a try!

Thanks for the tip, Cipher. Turns out I'm back sooner than I expected, with my next sponsor idea, specially designed for advertisement at Kealakekua Bay.

Hawaii Air Transit Systems is an anti-gravity transportation company based on the islands. They mainly provide tours of the islands, and also transportation, including to and from the ARC-150 races in Kealakekua Bay.

Here is an excerpt from Howie Onaki, son of the company's founder Matevoa "Mav" Onaki, speaking at the revealing ceremony of all league tracks in 2183.

"My fellow AG fans, believe me, I know that this has been a profoundly exciting day for you and me alike. With the return of AG racing pioneered by the bold Leopold von Strauss, and the construction of 8 new circuits for the ARC-150 league, the stage is set for one of the most important eras of AG racing ever known. As you know, my home state of Hawaii has been graciously chosen by the committee to host its own track, Kealakekua Bay. With the construction of this grand circuit and the inception of the new league, I am overwhelmingly proud to announce that my father's company, Hawaii Air Transit Systems, will become an official sponsor of the Kealakekua Bay track, and of the league itself. We hope to promote great turnouts and fantastic racing as we embark on this rebirth journey, and we will stand by the league and the fans until the end."

8003

Serion Logistics is an Asian transportation management company that would fit perfectly in geography to be a sponsor of tracks such as Hubian and Alphard, as well as the city circuits. They are a major global player in shipping and general transportation, and provide supplies to thousands of businesses across the world, including some transportation of supplies to ARC-150 racetracks when the need arises. Overall, they are fairly respected and trustworthy, but with high quality comes high price, and the only unpopularity they find comes from small businesses.

PS - All of the backgrounds on these logos could be changed to different colors or designs, I just present them in white so you can see the logo well and change it if you like. Also, to others than the dev team, if you like one of my logos, but there is something you would like to change/animate, feel free to do so!

DDD: I like your sponsors, but I have a feeling I'd love them even more if they had a bit more of a futuristic edge to them, similar to TDR's work. I think in this case it's mainly the fonts that make all the difference - see if you can find some more 'futuristic' approaches to them :)
As for animation, I use fireworks to create logos, and then I split the files up and animate them with After Effects. Example: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=440389869388210

Hey DDD113, I have an idea, what about a anime and manga toy company in Japan that sponsors some for the AG racing teams on Slipsteam GX? It might be a good idea or not, just give it a try. Here some videos what is a itasha car is.

No way that anime stuff is just bogus. It could have a sort of Japanese ad thing going on but not directly linked to anything anime. For instance, there are so many sponsors for the FX350 with those sorts of Japanese ad colour schemes with really bright and contrasting hues e.g. Joy Noodles. I'm still in the process of making a few sponsors, it's just that I don't have time to finish them. I also work in Flash which is a bit more tedious that AfterEffects. It's so annoying having so many ideas but not being able to do anything about it.

EDIT: HOOOLLY CRAP! Dreadofmondays that was really, really good. I have something like that cooking up. :D

i tend to agree with dreadofmondays, need some futuristic fonts going, would add a lot to the logos

And no kronic.. anime is not a reference for wipeout stuff.... TDR is where it's at
Japan nightlife is however, stuff like this; http://photos.travellerspoint.com/91874/large_tokyo_kabu..o_night.jpg
At least that's what gets me inspired, since i don't know what those signs say, i just tend to use their shapes in some way ^^

I really hope you aren't offended, but if I'm going to be honest I think I prefer TypeProton's sponsors. They just look more like sponsors designs you would see in real life. I believe a major part of this comes down to font choice. It seems like you're going for a futuristic feel but in some of them it just comes off as hard to read or tacky (the opposite of what a sponsor would want).

This isn't to say I don't like any of them though. For the most part they are decent and there are a couple I really like (this one for example http://puu.sh/4Xf3Y.png, nicely done)! The ones I have the biggest problems with are http://puu.sh/4Xf5p.png and http://puu.sh/4Xf6j.png. Besides the font, color scheme is also a problem at times and either make the text not stand out enough or in the worst case, blend in. To put it more concretely, for Labranth I kind of like this color scheme showcased here: http://s6.photobucket.com/user/pchalalai/media/Slipstream%20GX/logo_1_labranth.jpg.html

Also I'm a little worried that you took Rising Up which TypeProton made but none of the others. Does that mean his other sponsors like Levicore and Terrafirma won't make it into the game? =( And I'm not sure the gradient effect is an improvement over the original that TypeProton uploaded before. But that part isn't a big deal.

I also really hope to see rdmx's sponsor from a few pages back as well as Sausehuhn's sponsors.

It's impressive what you all have come up with =)

And again, I wouldn't have posted if not for the fact that I really admire the work you all are doing and want to see this succeed to the greatest extent possible.

dreadofmondays
23rd October 2013, 12:47 PM
TypeProton did RS, Typeproton also did a number of others like Levicore and Terrafirma. They are great and they will be in, but I didn't include them here because they weren't 'mine' so to speak (RS strictly isn't mine either, but I did vectors of it and wanted to include it as an example).
RDMX's and Sausehuhn's sponsors are going to be in as well, once we've got them down to the standard sizes :)
Thanks for the feedback on those two; good considerations, I'll see if I can make them better. (Although I like Labranth in it's current form). As for the other sponsors, hopefully I can get better with time and experience.
Thanks for the support :)

I umderstand what you saying, but there is a Super GT team called Goodsmile Racing have been doing it around in 2008 as a sponsor before becoming Goodsmile Racing in 2010 and the company was formed in 2001. They been using Hatsune Miku for the team mascot when Goodsmile Racing team was formed. Here the Goodsmile Racing team website for the Super GT team that I was getting my ideas from. I think the secret behind TDR is to keep it minimalistic, in my art classes we were told never to use more than 3 colors for logos as they become a total mess, same goes for fonts, but the constraint is 2 there (preferably 1), a good trick to see if your logo works is to have a billboard sized one and then scale it down til an stamp logo and see if it still reads nicely ;)

@kronic wipeout isn't your everyday/ real life racing game :p

Take a look of Super GT in Japan they have teams that use anime and manga characters on their racing teams, but the best anime & manga racing team is Goodsmile Racing that is the division of Goodsmile Company that was formed in 2001 and Goodsmile Racing was formed in 2010 to race in Super GT in Japan that use Hatsune Miku as a mascot. Its not a plan, its just come up in my head to create a anime & manga toy company to sponsor some of the AG racing teams in Slipstream GX, I think I'm crazy doing this but I think it might work or not. Its your project Xpand not mine. I'm just an outsider that might give you folks an really good idea to think about. Here the Goodsmile Racing english website below.

But we can't just slap anime characters onto ships, just like that. Doing that has a lot, and I mean a LOT of copyright issues that could get us in a heap of trouble. Plus it doesn't even make sense to put 21st century anime characters in something that happens 170 years from now.

KronicReaper
23rd October 2013, 07:00 PM
Yeah true, but I got that idea late at night around the early hours in the morning I understand that a futuristic racing game plus anime and manga characters might be not the best thing after all. But one day if that might happen 170 years in the future. You and I may never know if that would happen.

I'll work on some futuristic fonts if that is the style you guys are going for. I obviously know the game is set in the future, but I guess I just have a different, less blocky view of it. Like I said though, if that is your style, I shall conform. I think that is really the only divide we are facing as far as style, between me, Kronic, and the dev team, is the view of the future. In my opinion variety is the spice of life, so we should harness it.

Though not part of the SSGX team, but I wonder if I can scetch concepts of each pilot for each ship/team, and maybe show them on my channel or here somehow. I notice outline concepts of pilots for each craft during ship selection in the October 2013 demo, and I thought maybe I can draw them out also in detail. If any, I just need their names, appearances/features, age, nationality, and race, then I may scetch a couple of them.

AGSys
23rd October 2013, 10:06 PM
That looks a lot better. But I'd say use more basic/bright colors like light blue, yellow, orange, blue, black etc. If there's one thing I've seen in WOPure, it's that there's a very limited colour palette on the sponsors and the combinations work very well with each other. But I guess I'm just blending my personal preferences a little as well lol.

EDIT: I'd also use lighter/darker colors, so nothing too generic like #FF0000. Instead I'd use, say, #CC0000 for darker and #FF4D4D for lighter. It gives that futuristic feel.

DDD113
23rd October 2013, 10:22 PM
I only have orange and black/gray, that's pretty limited. I just don't think of Al Vaseki as bright and cheery, its like Labranth, some sponsors are just dark. Anyway, I have another one ready to go. The logo is bright on this one, but the text is still darker. I wasn't quite sure what color to go with for the text, but I finally chose one. If you think another color would work better, please let me know, as I'm not sure if I'm going to keep it yet. Here it is:

Ishikawa anime toy company
Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan
Year established: 2180

Ishikawa anime toy company was formed in 2180 by Akiko Ishikawa owner of Ishikawa Racing Developments, she wanted to create a anime toy company when the other anime toy company Mt. Fuji went bankrupt in 2179. This cause a major uproar by die hard AG racing fans in Japan thinking that she was nuts to create a anime toy company and leaving the racing team that her grandfather created in the early 22nd century behind. This didn't stop Akiko to make anime toys that where popular in Japanese anime, this cause major anime companies to walk into her office begging her to create toys for their popular anime TV series in the world. When the ARC-150 amateur league was announce in 2182, Akiko jumped on the AG racing ban wagon thinking that her anime toy company could sponsor a team or two to allow the company to grow outside the walls of Japanese TV anime. It worked and teams like Solaris, Amphithere Engineering, and Helios AG Tech are now Ishikawa anime toy sponsors of the ARC-150. This made Akiko very happy that a small anime-manga toy company would sponsor the first AGRC after 12 years of the fall of AG Racing in 2170. This cause her company stocks to boost and fans of Japanese anime very happy that a company like Ishikawa anime toys would be first to do so. For Akiko her dream was coming true at last. As for Ishikawa Racing Developments itself it was sold to a private company in Japan by herself for large amount of money in a private auction in Tokyo.

Sorry I don't have a logo for the company.

Next, the mysterious AG development company based in Finland, Prometheus AG Research and Development. They work in all fields involving AG technology, kind of like a cooler, more respected version of G-Tech Systems (but obviously not a team :)) They conduct their own private research in the far reaches of Finland, and work under contract as well, although little else is known about this mysterious company.

I'd change that last part to R&D, instead of the full thing, abbreviations are key things you remember from an ad :)
Too much text is annoying, although it isn't that much, it feels like much, still, in the end, this is all just up to you guys though, just providing feedback where i can ;)

I might, I like it better that way if you just right it like Prometheus Research & Development, but it makes the lines in black appear more balanced in the logo with the full word. Either way, I'll be looking at and making adjustments to all of my logos, so I'll evaluate it, thanks for the input. :)

Edit: The reason it is R&D (and it would mostly be referred to as Prometheus Research & Development, without the AG part) is because that is the main focus of the company, R&D in their secluded buildings in the far reaches of Finland. Even if they make a breakthrough, they might not be willing to share it, and that wouldn't solve much! :P

Edit (again): You know, I think I will just change it to Prometheus Research & Development tomorrow, sounds and fits the best in my opinion; fewer words.

Ok guys, those are all good sponsors you made, BUT we can't just use everything people put here. So, what do you say about creating a thread where you can discuss between the team and yourselves whatever you want to design (excluding ships and tracks), because what you do has to make sense within the game, for example, most backstories for the sponsors here clash with the backstory of the whole game.

We welcome all submissions but we can't promise that we'll use them, hope you understand.

Xpand
24th October 2013, 01:16 PM
Post non-official art here.

We won't automatically put everything we see in this thread in SSGX. However, the better the idea, the more chances it has to get into the game.

So, do your best!

We also advise you to get to know the game and its backstory a bit better before making anything.
Check this document for the backstory:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cJxml_UikSe7dVcPcVsA_Hsnr_c6xVFj--tDhUIq89I/edit?pli=1#bookmark=id.b2wq8j73v6dc
Try to jump the pages of the "Let's make a Wipeout game" thread to get a sense of what has been done.

Exclusions: Pilot descriptions, Campaign storyline, Track descriptions, Team descriptions, General setting descriptions. (these are already done, and are pretty much set in stone because the game is already being built around them) So you don't need to waste your time with them.

AGSys
24th October 2013, 02:02 PM
Well Xpand, could you possibly post up the pilot profiles/team backstories? It would help out a lot more with what people come up with.

DDD113
24th October 2013, 04:19 PM
Yeah, I agree with AGSys, we have to fully understand the backstory to make sponsors that fit. We know you won't take all if any of the designs, we're just throwing things out there for your feedback. I was also just wondering exactly what you meant by "going against the backstory?" If you're referencing some of the descriptions for the sponsors we've made, they can always be changed to fit better.

Hey thanks for transferring all the old content over here and letting us see the backstory. Really cool stuff, the way it all ties into the storyline. I was just wondering, though, the last two greyed out team descriptions, what happened to them? Is there still a chance they might make it in?

PS: Also still wondering what exactly clashed with the backstory, not trying to argue, I just want to know what it is so I don't do it again. Thanks.

Xpand
24th October 2013, 08:02 PM
They greyed out teams (and other stuff) didn't make it in.

Not all of the suggestions clashed, but some were a bit too "outlandish" when relating to the story. It's an amateur racing league. You don't see many big worldwide corporations sponsoring in those. Plus having 21st century icons in a game that takes place 170 years from now isn't a very good idea.

Synergy2048

Hopefully will get to see at least the pilot descriptions for each team. Even though they have already been done, I would still like to post my own concepts/artstyle of those pilots.

I can't find the pilots' descriptions. I've gotta ask whoever was working on them. But the thing is we already have their backstories and art (art is kinda work in progress in terms of color) (you can even see it in the demo), so I'm afraid you're wasting your time.

I'm gonna give their names and nationality anyways:

Project ifreet
“Anisa Dima”
Morocco

CEN-R
“James Sorgiovanni”
Swiss / Russia

Solaris
“Gary O’Connor”
Ireland

Helios
“Haldi Lexial”
New Zealand

LOGOS
“Spyridon Logo”
Greece

Zepher
“Yucchan”
Japan

Amphithere
“Leopold von Strauss”
Germany

A.T.L.A.S
“Arthur Fenix”
Russia

They have some of their description within the team's description, so if you want to take a look at the backstory document I posted earlier (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/forum/showthread.php?9342-Fan-Contribution-Thread&p=229416#post229416). It would help you get a better idea of what they're like.

I do know that there are already made pilots for the game, including art concepts, when I said that I would just like to draw scetches Of Those pilots in my artstyle. I forgot to say: to see those already made art concepts and just redo them in a more realistic style. I'm not saying I wanted to make up the appearances of those pilots.

so what I meant was, if released, I would like to see the finished art concepts of those pilots and just scetch my own versions of them in a realistic artstyle in my own freetime. If you seen my fanmade pilot concepts for WipEout HD, then you know what I mean.

Alright my next concept logo is not really a sponsor, but just an advertisement. It's called Avalon Plaza, and I envisioned it to be the plaza at the Cassandra track that lies on the straightaway just before the Civic Center turn, the plaza that is included soon after Hellfire finishes his track description in the starting video. I named it and envisioned some billboards for it right around the area at Cassandra where it is, and I added some backgrounds to the logos as well. Enjoy!

The first, long layout can also be used with all the backgrounds, but I didn't want to include that many pictures.

definitely not the black.
The yellow works, red not so much
Dark blue works as well and light blue is okay

my 2 cents ;-)

Thanks for the feedback, I think the red and maybe the dark blue font colors need to be altered a little, some work for later. :) The black's not my favorite either, as it kind of takes away from the color scheme, but it could work for night races, I'd have to see how it looked, that's really the determining factor for all of them. I think the light blue might work the best in all modes, night and day.

In the meantime:
8030

I thought maybe this could be an animated sign scrolling along the grandstands at Cassandra or maybe some other track, kind of like the animated WipEoutZone signs at DC. Speaking of volume, we need more crowd noise in this game, I wanna hear 'em roar! ;)

How do you manage to pop out so many designs so quickly? :O

Also, the best ones imo: light blue one and the red one. The yellow one works too.

DDD113
27th October 2013, 08:24 PM
I really would have to see where they were placed to choose my favorite color. Maybe create a signage tower? On the topic of quick design production, I guess I just have a lot of extra time, and on the Avalon Plaza one, really all I did was change background and font color after I designed it in the first place.

Edit: PogoBox on DeviantArt kindly let me use his awesome Monsoon logo in a sponsor idea, so the credit here goes to him, and here it is: Monsoon Particle Shielding.

8033

Monsoon Particle Shielding was formed in the mid-2170s during the outbreaks of war following the fall of AG racing. They worked in secret to develop particle shielding technologies for contracted governments, and were compensated handsomely, allowing them to grow from a small coalition into a small, but fully functioning company. Monsoon still works under contract to develop shielding system for certain militaries, and also helped develop the shielding systems for many teams of the ARC-150. Finally, prior to the official start of the league, they developed the protoype Atom pickup, which was warmly accepted officially into the league. Monsoon now sponsors the ARC-150 as it continues to evolve and develop new technologies for the future of mankind. Monsoon's shields are known to be extremely reliable, hence their slogan, "Bring the Rain."

I'm back to revive this thread again! Here is what I believe is one of my best ideas yet as far as style goes: Tetragon Smart Missile Systems.

8121 8120 8119 8117 8118 8122

Contrary to common belief, the SMS acronym actually stands for Smart Missile Systems, not just Systems itself. Tetragon SMS is a small but rising weapons company that will accept a contract from whoever will pay. They have recently developed the most advanced smart missile system in the world, which is why they have seen recent and rapid growth, and have the extra funds to become an ARC-150 sponsor. The company itself is based out of Russia, and some opponents say that what remained of the old criminal syndicate that ruled the country actually formed the company, but it is unclear whether this statement is true. It is clear that they have strong ties with CEN-R, and have developed and perfected the smart missile that will be used in the ARC-150. A mysterious and rising company with an interest in weapons on racing is here to take the stage in the rebirth of AG racing.

Sidenote: My last picture was just an optional overlay idea on the missile tracker, since the company develops the ARC-150 missiles on the side, it would make sense for there to be a slight recognition there. I've always been surprised that the weapons companies didn't advertise more on the WipEout games, especially the missiles, in which an overlay is so easy. This was just my idea of something that would be unique and cool, but if you don't like it, that's fine. Also, I know the scorpion is a little bit pixelated, but I can't seem to fix that. :P Also, the third picture could be a running linear animated billboard, like the WOZ one on DC.

Anyway, enjoy! :D

P.S. Have a look at that Monsoon logo ^^^ PogoBox did some really nice work there. :)

docfo4r
16th November 2013, 08:11 AM
I really like both ideas there. Monsoon logo is just cool and unique. It fits perfect, a stylized text AND a symbol to identify the sponsor [I think lots of our sponsors lack of the latter].

The Tetragon is also a great idea. What I like most is the story behind it. And you are right, why not giving big sponsors some sort of story? It could be placed into a wiki or on the website or somewhere. Very well done. I hope other ppl from the team see this aswell.
For the logo itself. Maybe having a standalone scorpion version would also be cool [since we can bring several styles of one sponsor into the game]. But that requires an update in the resolution of that thing. Would be cool if you could try it one more time. If not, maybe dreadofmondays can help you out since he did such resolution-friendly upscaling with a few of our sponsors aswell.
For the ingame crosshair idea. It is also cool I think. But your current version has waaaay too much stuff. If we do this, I'd go for one single line "TETRAGON" above the horizontal line on the right of the crosshair. And smaller font aswell. Since this crosshair does not shake or anything, the text doesn't need to be big and bright for being readable. Just a tiny little mark on the right. U think you can do this aswell? Then we can check out how it looks and feels :)

BTW: Who threw that Magnet onto the roof of the house on the right? :D :D

EDIT: The Missile tracker will receive a complete overwork as I found out just now and guess the other guys don't want to have any text on it. Further on every prototype ship [and guess also normal ship] receives it's own Missile manufacturer. So, I'm sorry but seems like this idea is going to be dropped...

DDD113
16th November 2013, 05:08 PM
Well, is it possible that this could be the missile manufacturer of one of the ships? If not I understand, I could always change what the company does and keep the logos, if that would work. Since it is Russian, it could be CEN-R's missile, and still keep a backstory connection. I dunno about the magnet, those things can end up anywhere when ships fly by them! :P

docfo4r
16th November 2013, 05:25 PM
CEN-R is actually Swiss/Russian since it was originally meant to be a futural concept of CERN. The "real" russian team is A.T.L.A.S and due to it's story and rough appearance, weapon-related stuff would work better for this team I think.

This being the missile manufacturer for one of the ships is totally cool with me. Let's wait for Xpands 2 cents since he has supplied some teams with individual missile manufacturers already [as seen in the prototype wallpapers on Facebook]. And yeah, I updated the strength of the magnetic field so ships passing by on Gamma speed can also "collect" magnets off the street ;) It also increased the "action radius" of the magnets.

DDD113
16th November 2013, 05:41 PM
Alright, A.T.L.A.S. is an awesome ship, I have nothing against supporting it. Good work on the magnets, it seemed on the demo that the magnets and tractortraps needed to have different strengths for each speed class, because it is almost impossible to detach magnets and it takes forever to break a t trap connection in Alpha class, but you usually make it by both without a problem in Gamma. Kinda nice though, sometimes I hate t traps, but then again it is so satisfying to hear that sound it makes behind you when someone flies over it right after you dropped it. Both ways, you gotta love it! :)

Edit: Also, I have some small updates on some of my previous sponsors:

8123 8124

I changed Prometheus from "Prometheus Anti-Gravity Research and Development" to "Prometheus Research & Development." It is still the same company idea, but the name is more concise and sounds better. I then updated the font on the Atauni logo to match the main icon better.

Xpand
17th November 2013, 12:16 AM
I'm only against using sponsors in the HUD since it's the same HUD for every ship (being a game related interface rather than a simulation of the actual HUD in the ship's cockpit).
I don't mind placing sponsors on the ships' paint scheme, but I've gotta try to place a few on the ships first before giving my final opinion on that. Most sponsors are way more likely to end up in the track's scenery rather than on the ships.

DDD113
17th November 2013, 12:35 AM
Alright, I see what you mean, and you do have a good point there. Either way, Tetragon is still a company that operates under other contracts independent of the league, so it could be on track scenery as well. However, I think each ship should have two or three main sponsors on it, kind of like the ones in WOHD (Ricochet, JAP, Netika, Sylva, etc.). Just my two cents though. :)

Edit: Just finished another sponsor with an interesting storyline connection. Support the Pacific Terraforming Project and Enjoy Utopia!

812781288129

The Pacific Terraforming Project was approved by the UN in 2157 as an international proposition to form a large, man-made island in the Pacific Ocean that consisted of many different landforms, climates, and ecosystems. This island would be ruled by a committee elected by the UN to keep the peace and law in order. Convicts would not be granted access to the island, so essentially, it would be an escape from the normal ways of the world; the societies of the wicked. It was going to be Utopia.

The first two stages of island construction were passed by a majority vote of UN delegates, and with all participating countries funding the project equally, construction began in 2159, after a suitable location was identified. The committee took two years to do this, as it was difficult to find a spot that would not affect ocean currents and normal ecosystem life greatly with the overall size of the island. The work began, and it was slow progress, building up the giant island from the sea floor. Finally, though, in 2173, the work was complete, and a semi-flat large mass of earth now loomed out of the great ocean. Then, the second stage of the project was voted upon and passed, and by early 2185, all landforms on the island had been masterfully sculpted.

Now, the project faces it's third and final stage: the population of the island with life. Scientist and ecologists will have to balance ecosystems and weather patterns to create a self-sustaining environment for the people who will one day move to the island. This work will lay the foundation for the establishment of the first Utopian nation, but as budget pressures loom, supporters urge the public to voice their opinions, and to tell their UN delegates to vote yes on Stage 3 of the Pacific Terraforming Project. Advertisements in the support of the project have become commonplace, and now, with the start of the ARC-150 league, the project has found new sponsoring ground, and will continue to push their idea until it is passed, advertising in many places, with well-known billboard scatterings across many tracks in the new league.

If you didn't happen to catch on, this is a nod toward the man-made island of Makana, which hosted the FX300 league of WipEout Pure in 2197. But that's unofficial information. :) Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the idea and will consider helping advertise for the construction of this new Utopian island in the ARC-150 league.

Thank you very much, Damon, both of those look fantastic, now the logo really will look complete. :)

Also a sidenote on the Pacific Terraforming Project, while it is a large-scale international effort, they want to advertise their support for it anywhere, which explains why they are interested in an amateur racing league. Also, many of the signs could just be the "Vote Yes" signs hanging from apartment balconies in the city circuits and stuff like that, adding in some population support as well.

81998200

Centari Outpost Platforms is a company that is contracted by other companies or governments to build city-size, stable ocean platforms for outpost development. Should I post again here, or should I edit. The last post was only yesterday, but it was a totally different sponsor... Oh, shoot, I guess I'll just post, correct me if I shouldn't, mods.

I should have posted this awhile ago, but I forgot. :P Anyway, the original idea for this sponsor came from Jonny, and I digitalized it for him, so here is Intastel!

8203820182048202

Established in France in 2149, the space travel agency Intastel has grown to become the parent company of multiple other agencies in Germany, the USA, Australia, South Africa, and Spain. Intastel is the central company of a consortium of travel agencies based in France. It became a sponsor of the previous league, providing flights to the moon, since there was a circuit there at the time. A Portuguese agency was absorbed into the consortium for a short time, but they were released with the economic fallout of the 2170s. The consortium experienced a very tough time through these years, barely keeping their other international branches. However, with support and prosperity returning, Intastel is back, sponsoring AG racing once more, and continuing to build their company to compete with the larger interstellar travel agencies.

Edit: I will edit this one since it's in the same day. Here is Turabian Energy Systems.

8206820782058208

Turabian is an energy company that specializes in solar energy systems. Formed in 2132 by Antan Turabian, the Saudi Arabian company worked it's way through the ranks to become a moderate-sized energy company, and with the limited number of available fossil fuels, things are looking good for the future of this trusted company. Surprisingly, their largest growth period came during the economic depression, which was also the boom time of clean energy. Now, with a firm grip on the market and a bright future, Turabian looks to AG racing as a sponsorship and development ground, with their solar system providing energy for many buildings around ARC-150 circuits.

Back again with the FAULT Quantum Mechanics company.

82158214821382168217

FAULT used to be a small team of engineers formed in the economic depressions of the 2170s. As a small and dedicated group, they made many breakthroughs that went largely unnoticed by the world, but soon, they hired more young engineers and developed a small quantum mechanics company. Now, in 2185, their discoveries are coming to the forefront of modern science, and they are beginning to grow in stature, despite struggling to implement their new technology. They chose the tech-based industry of AG racing as a perfect medium to spread the word and raise funds for the future development of commercial quantum mechanical systems.

8236

SNS began with a group of kids that got together and began performing computer maintenance/repair in their neighborhood of London in the 2160s. Slowly, their reputation and attention to detail grew, and they expanded to serve the entire city. After a childhood of computer service, the group decided to get an education in computer network systems and take their business to the next level. And with that, they did. Now with steady business throughout Europe, SNS have established themselves as a quality internet network installer/maintainer, and look to the technologically advanced sport of AG racing to find new customers through sponsorship.

Finally another sponsor concept! :D Here is Project Synthus.

8354 8352 8355 8353

After a reported "breakthrough" in his secluded mansion, Romanian billionaire and energy manipulation guru Alin Petran dumped a large percent of his funds into construction of a secretive scientific research facility deep in the mountains of Romania, which he then filled with handsomely compensated scientists from around the world to work on his new idea of energy manipulation. Christened Project Synthus, few details have been released yet, but speculations on the developments of Petran Enterprises range from perpetual energy sources to a new superweapon. Despite the extreme PR caution and secrecy, Petran does wish to promote his project, and bring international recognition to it for what he refers to as "The Grand Display" that is reportedly soon to come.

For this reason, as Petran searched for the best medium of advertisement for Synthus, he noticed the return of AG racing as it grabbed headlines and made its way into the news, similar to the way Synthus had been publicized itself. Therefore, he saw the ARC-150 and AG racing, a very technologically advanced sport, as the perfect place to raise awareness for Synthus, and grow interest in both his project and the league. Petran Enterprises is now one of the largest financial contributors to the ARC-150, even though their future goals are more than uncertain.

Sidenote: I will post the Petran Enterprises logo as soon as it is finished.

Edit: Here is the Petran Enterprises logo!

8356835983578358

I personally like the black background better than the white, and also there is no horizontal version here, the current vertical version is the primary and only logo for Alin Petran's energy empire.

DDD113
28th December 2013, 04:36 AM
The storylines or the logos? (or both :P)

In the case of the logos themselves, sometimes they are just a random image that pops into my head which I then modify for optimal aesthetic appeal, and sometimes I see a shape in a random place that inspires me to make a sponsor logo. In the case of the backstories, they are sometimes just randomly thought up too, but many times they are influenced by my recent experiences, for example, I recently watched a movie with a Romanian who pretended to be a billionaire (although he actually wasn't) and the movie involved laser energy weapons, which was kind of the inspiration for Alin Petran, Project Synthus, and Petran Enterprises.

Edit: On a different note, no Romanians involved here, I have created the Aerugo Engineering logo.

8369 8368 8367

Aerugo began as an aerospace engineering company, specializing in advanced aerodynamic design. They were fairly successful in this endeavor, but they wanted something more, something that could make the company a wild success and moneymaker, but could also bankrupt the growing empire. Therefore, they took their advanced aerodynamic knowledge to the one other medium where it mattered: water. Aerugo Engineering has now begun to construct small research and residential centers below the sea, using their technology to let the sea water flow gently around their airlocked environments. Their constructions first only consisted of projects commissioned by the company itself, but they have recently been contracted by the Vostok Island Committee and have begun the initial stages of construction on a completely submerged seaport and city complex, which hopes to bring a new dimension to trade by sea.

And for the record, Cipher, I am using that website you showed me; this is an example of the product. :)

I just created what I think may be the second best sponsor concept of my short (but productive) graphic design career. Here is Aegis Thermal Plating.

8373

Hi-resolution version available here (won't fit the forum): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2v...it?usp=sharing

Aegis is a thermal plating company that offers many products from heat-resistant military combat armor to virtually indestructable spacecraft exterior tiles. They are always open to special orders, and have received hundreds of them, increasing their horizons and inventory with every one. The only limit to this very successful company is the market, which tends to fluctuate, stifling the growth of the company but keeping them honest, continuing to service the world with their famous heat-resistant compounds.

Edit: Here is another new concept, Ujihara Designs.

8376

Ujihara is a fashion design company that specializes in a bright, modern, and very distinctive style popular around islands and tropical zones. However, they aren't island based, and don't dabble in the stereotypical floral prints of the tropics; they try to stay very modern and very unique, hence their slogan "Standout Style." They are popular sponsors at the Kealakekua Bay and Basin Park tracks as well as Hubian, even though it lies further north than the others.

Edit #2: Lots of free time today, so here's another one! This one is Quaron Energy.

8378

Quaron specializes in the making of energy cells, basically high-powered batteries with a very high energy density which are used for many devices in the 2180s, including powering some light AG vehicles with their more powerful cells.

I have a good idea for a sponsor for the ARC-150, what about a fictional energy drink company like in the real energy drinks companies that sponsors real motorsports like Monster Energy, Rockstar Energy Drink, or Red Bull. Good idea or not?

DDD113
30th December 2013, 05:04 PM
Good idea, Kronic, but we already have an energy drink sponsor, Amp Up. Maybe if you altered your idea a little you could transform it into some sort of modern upscale restaurant or bar that would fit well as a city track sponsor.

Something like Joy Noodles would be cool.

DDD113
30th December 2013, 08:13 PM
I took some inspirations color-wise from Joy Noodles for my Ujihara logo. That would be cool to have a new, different style restaurant, though.

Edit: I took a little Japanese inspiration for this one: Shuriken Hydroponics.

8386 (The black box around the logo is for the reference size of a billboard.)

Shuriken Hydroponics is a company that began in the highlands and mountain ranges of China and Nepal, constructing small biodomes and cavern gardens under contract by local governments in order to help the population of the area survive and expand. Now, most of their contract work occurs in the Gobi desert that runs through Mongolia and China, where they perform many operations, from large, city-sustainable biodome projects to small, household gardens, Shuriken has brought life and prosperity to the deserts of Asia.

Edit: Here are a number of my sponsors resized and edited to billboard sizes. Enjoy and please give feedback on color and background choices/ideas.

It would also be nice if you listed your favorites, too, to help me see which styles are popular and which are not. ;) Personally I love the diffused effect on the grey on white FAULT logo, I like that style, but what are you guys' thoughts?

Black Kraken Energy Drink
Year Established: 2160
Main Headquarters: Athens, Greece
Main Slogan: Release The Kraken

Established in 2160, The Athens Beverage Co. makers of the best energy drink called Black Kraken Energy Drink was formed by a CEO named Adonis Ross, a Greek- American business man that traveled to Greece to start a beverage company in Athens. He brought an old beverage company that want out of business in the early 22nd century, with the money he saved up to brought the old beverage company and a few of his friends started making energy drinks from the old company. One of his friends wanted to named this new energy drink after a mythical sea creature that strikes fear, but it might be a good seller for the new beverage company. It went to a vote and when the votes were cast, the Kraken was the most voted and it stuck. Naming the new energy drink Black Kraken Energy Drink, it became a massive hit all over the world. When the ARC-150 was announce and Logos AG racing team was formed in Greece, Logos wanted a company form Greece to sponsor the team; they went to Adonis to sponsor Black Kraken Energy Drink as a main sponsor for Logos. Adonis accepted it and Logos was the main sponsor for Black Kraken Energy Drink and the Athens Beverage Co. Now the ARC-150 has begun, Logos will be racing for pride for Greece and the sport of AG Racing with Black Kraken Energy Drink as its sponsor; Logos will release the Kraken to strake fear too other AG racing teams in the ARC-150.

Black Kraken Energy Drink. RELEASE THE KRAKEN!!!

I reinterpreted your 'fault' logo a little bit, mostly because of the font. Though I wonder who would give their company a name with such an ill-omen... then again we have Icaras

DDD113

What's wrong with the font? It's actually one of my favorites, and it is meant to be grayscale btw. Still like the heavy chevrons, too, yours just seem... too standard. It's nice to see someone evaluating my concepts, though, and I'm glad you gave some input and a suggestion. :)

P.S. "WipEout" itself is kind of a bad omen for a racing game, isn't it? :P

Edit: I now have another sponsor ready for evaluation! This one is already made up in billboard form, ready to go. :)

PlatinDyme is a modestly fancy (and modern, of course) hotel chain that tends to operate in the larger cities of the world. They appeal to young adults, and invite all guests to enjoy the nightlife, building their infamous reputation. Even their billboards reflect this emphasis, with the night sky at the top showing pitch black while the lights of the city gleam below.

As I've mentioned, the font you used in the original Fault logo is 80-90s futuristic and looks a bit dated now. http://www.revival-studios.com/photos/collection/vectrex2.jpg

Unless that's the specific look you're going for of course. I didn't want to deviate too far from your original logo, because I liked the idea of the chevrons slipping like a fault line.

DDD113
2nd January 2014, 04:50 AM
But I still don't see any fonts like the Fault one in that picture. Some of the other fonts, like the ones with the lines through some letters make me see exactly where you're coming from, but I'm still kinda lost here :/

2nd January 2014, 05:18 AM
I can't find any specific examples of your font being used, but you'll have to trust me when I say it's extremely dated looking. It wouldn't look out of place on a Space Invaders arcade machine

Am really enjoying the PlatinDyme boards. Even they also may not look too futuristic, I think especially with these colors used they would fit nice into Nazca Remains :)

By the way: Not each and every logo needs to look extremely futuristic. See nowadays billboards, some use advertising techniques by imitating the looks of the 50s or 60s and I am sure this would not change in the future. Of course, such billboards need to be the minority, but why not having some sort of 2-pages animated billboard... First page could be a car and text on it "You still own a car with 4 tires?" then the animation kicks in and it fades into another page where it says "Return your car to [random AG manufacturer] and get your first AG-mini-scooter for free"... Something like that. This also works for futuristic billboards of course. I think billboards in the future often tell people what they should do. Another point is that I am mostly seeing companies only here. But I believe we should also have billboards which advertise just a single product... A new burger at a futuristic fast food chain, new perfume, a new medicine to heal a cold within 5 hours, a special travel/flight offer by an airplane [hyperdrive] company etc.

Also lets take a look at the evolution of billboards: Very first versions I believe were just big boards with paper or paint on it and a lamp mounted on the board for indirect lighting. Then there came the self-illumed boards, recently we have boards with scrollbars that rotate in given interval so there are actually 2 or 3 advertises in one frame. How would the future look alike then? I think we will mostly have self-illumed [or even light-spending] fully animated boards while the animation itself will still be very simplified. Also these boards maybe don't require a frame as we know it, they could be holographic or projected to a flat surface.

So I think a good point in designing an ad is to already think about how your next billboard could be animated. If you could even work out an animation like clojo did, it would be even better:

Hey guys! I've tried my hand at a billboard/advertisement again if you're interested. This one is animated!
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5uPt1MKq8MFbGdQVVZ2MVE2MG8/edit?usp=sharing
But animations consume lots of time so maybe it is better to post a still image first and see if your board gets 'accepted' by the audience.

I think most futuristic fonts could fit into a span of generations, it just depends how you look at them. Good point on the single product idea, Kai, I'll have a look into it and hopefully get some new work cranked out. :)

I think I will create a sponsor logo for a new AG shoe... that sounds interesting, I mean, no-weight is better than lightweight, right? :D

Edit: On that topic, here it is! The NX-1000 (yes it is the reference you were thinking) by Delphos Footwear, the first Anti-Gravity shoe as the technology of compact AG generators advances.

8440 8441 8442 8443

And also, Kai, I agree that the PlatinDyme billboards would fit very well in Nazca Remains, with the gradient color scheme and especially since the only viewers who see the race watch it on television, and most of those would live in big cities where a PlatinDyme might be located.

Are those... glass wings? O_o Well, I guess they wouldn't be glass, but the durable equivalent of it, right? :D Cool idea, it definitely looks like LOGOS. It may have too much curvature for the sleek lines of the ship style, but I think ideas and inspiration could be taken from this. :) I mean, those transparent wings... I really never would have thought of that, I love the creativity here!

clojo733
18th January 2014, 08:19 PM
Actually it was Kai who suggested the glass wings! I'd never think of something that cool. XD
They are supposed to be bulletproof glass, and have a metal front edge to protect them from impacts.

Lol, clojo, cool concept anyway! :D I'm back with another sponsor concept, this one for a stereo sound system company, an international corporation called Audophón Sound Systems. Since they were formed by an international group of people and continue to function in the same manner (much like AirTime Productions itself) the name derives uniquely from both the Greek and Latin roots meaning "sound," with the stress on the final syllable denoted by the accent mark. Audophón is mainly known for their heavy bass systems, and have begun to gain popularity and financial momentum for expansion and partnership with the ARC-150, including installing custom speaker projection systems in the grandstands of every track (except for Nazca because there are no grandstands :P).

Nice design, Chloe. I really like how the wings came off. I'd only change the ship shape a little bit so it won't go "upwards" but more straight.
And great sponsor there Damon, I really like the idea behind it and the billboard came off nicely aswell.

9288 Here's just an idea for an updated version of the Amphithere Engineering team logo that I made on my spare time. In my opinion, the AE logo is the only one that needs to be changed. It just doesn't seem to fit in with the rest.

Moved by Xpand. Reason: The "SSGX development - Official Art " thread is for official art only, not fan art. ;)

Over a year later, and I think I may have some ideas for designs for the billboards. I came 2nd (iirc) in the 2013 Christmas TT challenge thing, but I completely forgot what it was I could do for placing 2nd. Oops.

If you did do what I told you in 2013, and gave the opportunity to do the designs to someone else, then I won't mind if it doesn't go into the game, but I'd still like to get my ideas out. The more the merrier, right?

EDIT: I have created a little something, just to get the main idea out. If need be, I can edit it to make it look better, fit the proper dimensions, or whatever else you want done to it.

Katana is a company I created. They were an AG sports car manufacturer, established in 2185. In my canon, they also provided parts to some teams participating (though you don't have to pay attention to this part if it conflicts with things). However, people who frequent the Fanfic section would know that this company would eventually become Angelus R&D, a participant in the 2209/10 season of the FX400.

What do you guys think?
