View Full Version : Games You Want Ported, but Never Will.

Man, there are certain games I really want to play on current gen, next gen consoles, or through Steam. It will never happen though. I would like ports or HD updates of Turok 1, Jet Force Gemini, Goldeneye (not these new "reboots" either), DK64, F-Zero X Expansion, and Extreme-G 1. It'd be a dream come true if Turok would get ported to any other console with updated controls. That is hands down the absolute greatest first person experience I have ever had. Sorry Metroid Prime and Skyrim.
Also, if you love shooters as much as I do, you know just how evil developers are with limiting their audience. They region lock and fail to export their top games. Buying a Japanese system for a few titles is murder. Mushihimesama, DoDonPachi 1, 3, 4 and the DLC, Ketsui, Thunder Force 6, and lots of other grand shooters don't see the US and sometimes Europe without hacking or deep wallets. It's just very sad to see these games restricted.
Not everything is grim, though. I am not a fan of JRPG's, but I was happy to see that monster of a game Xenoblade ported. Amazing title. Hard as Hell, too!
Got anything you want, but can't have?

How about bad ports of a game for suggestions?
Railroad Tycoon II re-ported to the PS3. In my opinion, the PS1 port wasn't that good. It seemed too limited for the capabilities of the hardware and was missing the expansion pack "The Second Century" which was very well done. Then again, I've never played the port.

I'd like WipEout 3 Special HD Edition, TimeSplitters 2 HD, GTA San Andreas HD, and Elite/Frontier remade.
I agree that the first two are kind of niche, GTA 5 will pretty much be San Andreas HD, and Elite/Frontier is somewhat covered by Eve, but still - it'd be cool to play a new, polished version of the originals.

Wo3se would be pretty incredible at 60 fps. I would like wipeout XL, and 2048 ported in HD to the ps4

Final Fantasy 7, 9 and 10 in HD (the latter is happening though, w00t!) Kingdom Hearts HD Collection, TimeSplitters HD Collection, Medal of Honor HD Collection (Rising Sun in particular,) Oddworld Collection (Stranger has had an HD remake, Munch and Abe's Oddysee are being worked on, but where's Exoddus?!)
I want loads.

You think it would have been done better on PC even when it came out? I don't know anything about it. >.<

WOHD ran like a champ at 60 FPS so that could be pulled of. I kind think 2048, great as it is, just needs an overhaul. It was missing A LOT of important features. I was very disappointed with no custom soundtrack like the two previous titles.

Well, When did you start playing games then? I only found about it in 2000 Something.
It is on the PC, it was one of the best strategy games at the time. Released in 1998 by PopTop software, it was quite radical for what it is. 16 million colors with a 1024x768 was rare at that time.
The PS1 port in 2000 was pretty good according to what I know, but it doesn't look right. It seems somewhat synthesized and does not have the same feeling.

I was..."sheltered" with gaming growing up. I only remember playing Nintendo quite literally until the Xbox 360. I was 11 when I had a HUGE branch out and bought a ton of systems new and old. I really didn't know too much about old PC games past id and Bethesda until 2006. I have a powerful laptop now and play games on it more than anything now, but I never looked into the oldies. And I'm not an strategy gamer either. Pardon my shameful ignorance. T-T

thrill Kill
its a fighting game that was kinda not released in the public.
its full of blood, fightiing moves, adult oriented situations and everything
it was developed after the 90's and was suppose to be out in 2000 but it didn't cause it would be so hot of a thing for the american pubic and mommies who gave the creation of rating movies, tv shows, and everything in this country.
Thrill Kill got to have it

I love the satirical eloquence of that statement. It's the damn truth. Everyone whines when something "isn't for kids". Shelter them some more. Let's see how inept they become in adult life after you blame video games for your piss poor bollocks parenting. It's even WORSE when it involves girls that are even remotely attractive in games. That's why Lollipop Chainsaw may be doomed. Shame too.
That reminds me! I need to go pick up Skullgirls. Cheap and small fighter with a lot of punch! :D

Hm, Final Fantasy 7-9, Wipeout XL and Wip3out S.E. Furthermore F-Zero, Rock´n´Roll Racing and Resident Evil 2.
And I wouldn´t mind a new version of Snake Rattle n Roll.

Wip3out-SE on PS3, as mentioned before. That would be awesome, and it will never happen.
Another game is Flower (PS3) - I´d like to have a PSP-port, but the developers already said that it wouldn´t be as beautiful and amazing as the PS3 version, which is plausible, of course. Furthermore, if Sony doesn´t give "thatgamecompany" a corresponding order, nothing will happen as well. It´s a pity...:|

What about Rollcage HD!?
Oh, God, YES!
Well, a game franchise that never will be ported would be the Discworld games. Particularly Discworld Noir as it's my favourite, and it was only released in limited parts of Europe.
Grim Fandango deserves being released on consoles, because it should've been released on consoles back in the day! Lucasarts are of course only interested in releasing mediocre Star Wars games now.
There are tones of Dreamcast games that could do with being released to the wider audience.
Oh, and Saturn Bomberman. With online multiplayer.
Slightly weird choice, but would like a PC version of Red Steel. That game was pretty fun, but would be better with revamped graphics, and being played on mouse and keyboard.
