I really need to make some Pony vids, I had the idea of Twilight dancing to LMFAO's - Sexy and I know it, just because of how ridiculous her dancing was in the 'secret of my excess'

What did everyone think of the new episode then? Was definitively in the Top 3 over both seasons for me. Reminded me of the Rugrats. :D

I also felt slightly sorry for Pinkie when she started crying. :lol

I've got some links to the latest, just in case. Doubt they're needed since it's been a while, here they are nonetheless.

S2E12: Family Appreciation Day (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOL6o6EiujI&hd=1)
S2E13: Baby Cakes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5ayWu0Kp7Y&hd=1)
S2E14: The Last Roundup (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awweSMNWhsM&hd=1)

If you've missed any:
Season 1 (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2CA4C268E54CF35E)
Season 2 (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL0DDB21BF8A4FF097)

About the latest, while I'm awfully surprised they would go so far with that character, she sounds a bit weird to me. I don't hate it like many others, but I don't quite like it either. This doesn't have anything to do with any fan voices I've heard.

Also I'm kind of sad that every time Applejack's been the main focus, it's because she's hiding/denying the truth. It's honestly quite played out at this point. I'm glad Pinkie Pie was in there.

Yeah, the unexpected character in 'The Last Roundup' was a huge surprise! I actually didn't mind her voice, it was a great scene, especially with teh Dashmeister. Great episode in general I thought, much better than the last two, def in the top 5 for this season so far.

'Read it and Weep', the episode in 2 weeks time is gonna be amazing though, dat synopsis... :dizzy

Spoiler:

That episode has Rarity generously beating up Rainbow Dash for loyally abandoning her in the desert. That's why RD's in the hospital. TMYK.
or
It's Rainbow Dash finally reading fanfiction. That's why she cries. She gets so depressed she hurts herself many times, so she ends up in the hospital and her friends tell her to forget it, it's all dumb monkeys writing that stuff anyways.

PS: I read fanfiction, but very few are really good. The rest are unmentionable (Like the one involving a certain type of pastry), and I take a jab at those only.

nismology
24th January 2012, 09:24 AM
Haha, those are certainly possibilities!

I wonder how she'll come about being in hospital, I mean, she flew head first at full speed into a cliff face in 'Griffon the Brush Off' and in the last episode, a huge wooden beam landed on top of her, smashing her through the ground! I'd say she was more or less indestructible! That is unless Fluttershy gives her a beat down like she did to the bear! :P

Darkdrium777
24th January 2012, 01:57 PM
I'm fairly certain she's invulnerable in those moments purely for comedic effect. The rainbow nuke was perfect but wouldn't have been possible otherwise.
I find the people trying to rationalize absolutely everything annoying (Not saying that's you, just that I've seen people argue tooth and nail about the genetics of the Cake babies for example.) Sometimes things happen because it's a cartoon. If you want a realistic Equestria, read some of the few good adventure fanfictions or imagine it. But it will never be the show.

UB3R~JKP
24th January 2012, 05:36 PM
Exactly.

The fan-base can be a tad extreme.

Comments on the newest episode? Amazing, outstanding, incredible etc etc, Jumped into my top 3 episodes of all time and my favorite of the season.

Darkdrium777
24th January 2012, 06:38 PM
It's not the best for technical reasons. There were too many spotlight stealers and I find the characteristic of Applejack this episode hinged on is starting to get played out. She's supposed to be honest but when she has a big problem she never asks for her friends' help and instead hides whatever's bothering her. I'm hoping that this is the last time she learns this lesson (the moral being what it is and all.)

2. The Last Roundup
3. The Return of Harmony
4. May the Best Pet Win!

So apparently, while some people didn't fall in absolute love with Derpy's appearance (Like yours truly who merely liked it), there are a few nincompoops who outright hated it enough to send hate e-mails to Amy Keating Rogers and Tabitha St Germain, as well as contacted Hasbro Customer Support. They were loud and obnoxious enough that Hasbro's released a statement stating they would consider the situation (Might be typical CS response, but they might act on it.)

What the **** is wrong with these people. They're even worse than the extreme rationalizers I talked about earlier. The people who make the television program love you enough to give you more than a shoutout in an advertisement, and then you act like an asshole once you find out. I'm not even done: the worse part is that apparently the voice actress Ms. Germain did not get a clear picture of the character she was acting for. So she made a mistake with the voice and made her sound more boyish than she would've intended had she known Derpy was a female role.

Essentially, a bunch of oversensitive morons (get offended with that instead if you are reading this please) were not patient enough and acted like idiots, shouting on the rooftops, and made a lot of people working on the show feel bad about a simple mistake.

I hope they're writing letters to Princess Celestia explaining that they learned about patience and understanding, and more importantly apologies to everyone they've insulted (Because I seriously doubt these single neuron brained folks had the decency of remaining civil in their writing.) As for me well I don't even know if I want to be associated with these people by the brony moniker anymore. I'm terribly ashamed.

This fanbase has it's fair share of weirdos....one of the reasons I don't go on many fan websites anymore. :lol

Darkdrium777
27th January 2012, 03:35 PM
Yeah. I just think it's a shame those few can ruin it for the many of us who just like the show and don't really obsess over it. R34 for example is weird (euphemism) but at least they seem to keep to themselves... On the contrary it seems every week end there's people going on a crusade because WORST EPISODE EVER/SHOW RUINED/LIFE RUINED/ETC. and I just want someone to invent a boxing glove that can go through the internet.

Challenger #001
27th January 2012, 03:40 PM
I always have phases of that. I look at the 'show only' community and bang my head off the keyboard and remember that I like to keep this thing private and to myself. But then I'll see some gorgeous artwork, a fun fan dicussion, a funny story... and you know what? I think 'we're not so bad in general'.

I guess it goes for any fandom. Change something and most people are just quietly happy, but the people who aren't are all 'THEY CHANGED IT NOW IT SUCKS'. I know I can be the same in some circles (I have my own opinionated thoughts on the way the Assassin's Creed Series has gone) but I never go and start making petitions to Ubisoft to change it back. -_-

Some people are just blindly ignorant. For goodness sake, it's a TV show for LITTLE GIRLS about pretty ponies who love to make friends, and they, who are outside the target demographic, are raging because the creators of the show added a piece of FAN SERVICE that didn't quite meet their expectations!? People like that should have their internet access permanently revoked. Maybe then, they'll get a life!

Stuff like this makes me furious, a very similar thing is happening with Codemasters' new DiRT Showdown game. Loads of ignorant 'fans' are bitching over at the DiRT facebook page because it's not a pure rally game, EVEN THOUGH Codemasters themselves have officially announced several times that a new, pure Dirt rally game will come out at a later stage, and all the unrealistic stunty stuff is going into Showdown. I quote:

"It's gone from being a all out rally game to this banger Racing wtf sort it out !!!"

"McRae would be turning in his grave, Codemaster's you have ruined the DiRT game, am I the only one that wants just Rally and none of the other bullsh*t."

They forget that the people who are making the product they're obsessed about could just turn around and say 'fine, if that's your attitude, we'll stop making it all together!'

Some people throw their toys out of the pram at the smallest thing and really need to grow up. This is half the reason I've stopped looking at internet forums (this is just about the only thread I post in anymore, because ponies, but also because Wipeout zone seems to be an unusually civil place!), because arguments ALWAYS break out over the pettiest, most mundane things, and people inevitably end up arguing over the definition of 'opinion' or who's more qualified to argue.

</rant.

Carry on! :P

UB3R~JKP
27th January 2012, 11:16 PM
I agree with everything except the Dirt point Nismo. CM have lied TWICE about making a pure rally game, it's one thing making promises...keeping them is another. Especially for CM who promised as long as there wasn't a GRID 2 on the horizon they wouldn't stop GRID's servers....5 months ago they shut them down. And I've already mentioned how they handle Dirt.

Don't even get me started with Operation Flashpoint.

I have no competence for them when they make decisions like that.

Ok, you guys win, I finally watched the show. So I was there, a grown man watching a show made for little girls and I thought: this is just LOVELY!! So absolutely NOT my cup of tea. Considering the huge amount of animation series recently made, this one is really stands out, with a solid script and animation. But honestly, it is just that, I respect the fans, but this is just too much. No problem though.

Good to hear you liked it. The whole 'fan' thing is a bit weird, I wouldn't really class myself as a fan in the respect you were referring to, I watch the show as it comes out, I don't really re-watch episodes unless they are especially good. Posting in this thread and looking at some of the artwork on EqD, (some of it is really good, there are some talented people out there) is the extent of my fanship. I'd say I enjoy the show, but only on the same level that I enjoy Top Gear, Peep Show, or Monty Python.

To be honest I've got every episode saved on a terabyte hard drive, but I don't rewatch them. Not yet anyways, maybe some time down the line.
I'll watch episodes as they come out (live is particularly fun), browse EqD for fan art that I'll use as wallpapers on my phone/computer (subtle ones (http://qsteel.deviantart.com/art/Two-suns-in-the-sunset-253839465), not in your face ponies), do the same for music... I've read a couple of stories in my free time, especially sci-fi. And I have a 3$ Rainbow Dash toy because living anywhere else in the world that's not part of the United States that's pretty much the only way to give money directly to Hasbro for this show.
I'm not really interested in talking ponies 24/7 with random people online, even though it might seem that way with me posting that much in this thread :lol What I mean is I won't go into discussing Rarity's coiffure in the newest episode.

btw Latest Episode (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_jwKGGWjAY&hd=1) (Confusing title so I'm not typing that down) in which Applejack learns nothin' at allNothing At AllNOTHING AT ALL! I didn't know bronies could pilot, as well. Maybe, I should use Ponybeat in my races. I was gonna add, ponies to the story, but someone suggested against that, as bronification can stir drama from the Anti-Bronies. Speaking of which I have an Earth Pony general as my Ponysona, Ion Cannon.

I don't mind the show. Some people overreact to it's styling and plot like it's supposed to be Judge Dredd, but it's not as vapid like most other kid's shows. I don't watch it because I don't care about it like most other TV shows, however.....
I do NOT care how anyone wants to attempt to refute this, but the majority, not all, the majority of it's fans don't follow what the show "teaches". I avoid bronies as a whole if that's the first they present about themselves because of how they take the show religiously. It's annoying. Every brony both RL and Internet save for a minuscule few have been dicks about their show.
I once came across someone who said if everyone watched the show the world would be better and those that disagree are HINDERING HUMAN ENLIGHTENMENT. Sad. I was hurt. :<

Haha, I'd forgotten about this thread! I haven't actually watched an episode since the last season ended. Tbh, I probably won't watch if it returns for another season. After reading some of the stuff that the truly obsessive fans of the show were putting up on online, I went off the whole thing a bit.

The novelty of watching a little girl's cartoon wears off after a while. Reading back through this thread it's actually quite embarrassing some of the stuff I wrote!

Yeah it's bothered me a few times as well when I found some rather displeasing things that other people said or did related to this show and community. I think Reddit so far has been a much nicer and less weird of a place than others.
Although I've personally re-watched a couple of the episodes I saved since the last time I mentioned them and will watch season 3 when it comes out in November of this year.
I also have a Twilight Sparkle blind bag to keep RD company, but that's it. I must be looking at the wrong places.
On the music side of things I've been keeping up with some artists I already knew, saved a bunch of others to check out later. Haven't read any fanfics this year though.
Overall it's been a pretty passive off-season for me too compared to the last.

You don't have to answer, but any particular reason why?

I mean hey, I don't go out screaming that I identify as a brony to anyone and everyone, but I will acknowledge that I am a fan if someone were to ask me. I don't strongly identify with the term of brony because it's a label and it is way too generalizing IMO, there's many swaths of people in this and some I don't personally agree with what they are doing.

So if you identified as brony but not anymore, I totally get you. However has the show stopped interesting you? That's what I'm wondering.

It doesn't help that I was shown an image of two middle aged men cosplaying as MLP characters, surrounded by their extensive collection of MLP toys. -cannot be unseen

Yeah some of my friends gave me the creeps when they said I should start watching this show. And I did. But I kinda didn't like it. I'm not much of a person who likes cute things like in this particular show. It was boring and wasn't really funny in any way to me personally. Sure, there are talented people behind it but somehow I don't see it's greatness. I even watch and love SpongeBob, Hey Arnold, and old cartoons from the late 90's to early 2000s, but this show, eh not so much.

Calling myself a brony has never been a huge deal for me. I just like the show, not necessarily the people that like the show. It's kind of funny that I hope John de Lancie can convince me that bronies are not all that bad. But I've seen too much awkward and drama for it to be worth it. It's always kind of been like this for me though.

We are all individuals with our own opinions, thoughts, likes, dislikes, …
It's not because you dislike something (here; MLP, although there's other things….) that someone else is not allowed to like it, stop representing other people while you're only representing yourself, i do not agree with you, yet i'm also a grown man, so you're statement is invalid.

Ask yourself this; Why can you not respect other people's choices?
Because this is not the first time you bring up controversy like this...

Kronic drama llama strikes again... Is it really that difficult just to keep your mouth shut from time to time? No ones making you watch the show, no one cares if you do or dont. We all already know you dont like the show and your poor 1950's style viewpoint. MLP exisits, the fans of the show are of al ages, races and genders, just deal with it... But as Blue says, there really is no point in just telling you "If you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all" because you really wont listen. Your BS puts me off coming on WZ, which is sad, but your name and your constant need for controversy and drama are all I ever seem to see...

I don't personally watch My little pony to be honest, but I have some "Brony" friends and they are some of the kindest, most thoughtful people I know and have ever met. So there is nothing wrong with them in my opinion and I will never judge them for liking MLP. One of my Tumblr followers is a brony and he's a awesome person.

"If you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all".
Exactly what I was going to say :P
If you haven't met someone who likes MLP then you cannot judge them so harshly, that's just being arrogant to what is a nice community.

Its my opinion, that's all. Nothing more nothing less.

No, it isn't. It's a judgemental comment on other members that was always going to cause offence. The simple fact is that you seem to have a habit of winding people up on here because you can't seem to accept that people have different opinions to you. The difference is that they can express theirs without attacking others.

This is the LAST TIME I am going to say this KR. I am getting sick and tired of this.

So, another lovely opinion delivered unto to us by Kronic. Here is an idea, if you have no interest in the show and only feel such distain for it why did you even bother coming into this thread in the first place? I'd rather have 10 friends who sit and watch MLP than say 10 of Kronics 'Grown men' friends who must conform with your beer and collection of guns standard because those are real mans activities?

The show has a huge adult following whether you like it or not with multiple new seasons planned, as Rarity would say, how fabulous! The show contains messages which are important for kids BUT at the same time a lot of adults could do with a little reminder of those messages as well given the way people behave these days.

Do I watch it? Yeah. Do I dress up like characters from the show? No, there seems to be some stupid assumption that the two go hand in hand.

There's nothing wrong with having opinions but you seem to bring a lot of negativity and potentially drama stirring comments into already established threads, I personally feel its bad enough you feel the need to more or less spam, in my view, the forum with new threads containing a bunch of stupid random one line posts/questions half of which garner no reply and many of which I'm sure Google has an answer to. Maybe you could just start one thread called Kronics Questions and put them all in one place?

Now, less of this and more MLP lol, I'll lighten the mood with this face, because how could you not love it? DISCOOOORD whatever did we do..!

Its still wrong folks. I don't see me wearing a brony t-shirt in my future only heavy metal t-shirts.

Obvious troll is obvious. Or maybe he's genuinely too thick and ignorant...of everything? Either way, I'd say the best thing to do is ignore his **** and move on (even if it's hard to since the bare narrow-mindednees of some of his posts are just too up there). Because this is honestly going nowhere.

Wrong in YOUR OPINION Kronic. Its not wrong at all to the majority of the world. Why in the hell do you feel the need to voice your mostly nonsensical opinion on matters that wouldnt even concern you in the first place?? Oh, lemme guess "FREEDOM OF SPEECH HURR DURR!!!" I dislike how thats used as an excuse to just spout nothing more than hate speech among certain people... I'd call that abusing your rights... Again IF YOU CANT SAY ANYTHING NICE, DONT SAY ANYTHING AT ALL!!! Why cant you just do that and move on?? You cant seem to deal with people having a differing opinion from your own. Im also laughing at you trying to assert your "manliness" with that little comment you left just there. Feeling insecure??

Kronic trolling?? Thats too much credit... I've had full blown conversations with Kronic, a long time ago might I add, resulted in him being blocked from my Facebook. I did give him a chance, but I have no room for people like that in my life. He'll keep posting sadly, which annoys the crap out of me and many others. Pointless threads just looking to cause drama. I done really well at keeping it in, but I honestly cannot deal with anymore of your crap Kronic. WZ was a safe zone for me, away from BS like yours... Not so much now...

Trying to get this back on topic somehow, it seems to have been totally derailed by him once again... I dont think any pony would be very happy with your lack of kindness towards others. You do not understand the magic of friendship!!! Twilight Sparkle is sure to have a lecture lines up to remind you of the importance of friendship!!!

Oh finally, THANK you Hellfire! Seriously thanks.

Anyway getting back on topic, with the amount of people here that watch this show, what the hell I might as well give it a second chance and see where it takes me.

If you didn't like it the first time chances are you're not going to like it the second time. It has a huge following yes, and I myself enjoyed the first few seasons but it's certainly not for everyone. I enjoyed S1-3 but it's started getting to be too much, not because it's boring or uninteresting but 4 seasons is really just milking it. Though I'm sure Kronic likes it, he seems like a very understanding and smart person who enjoys feelings.

Thank you Hellfire, you are a king and if I could like posts, you would have all my likes.

Getting back this thread to where it was, I'm glad that there is such a community like the Bronies out there. Where personally I'm not a Brony and not likely to be one anytime soon, my friends who are Bronies are amazing people :)

Here's my formula for it: People who are not afraid to admit they are Bronies or anything similar are lovely people to meet.
