Never played it, but it sounds AWESOME to play!

I just bought Full Auto 2: Battlelines. If you like the movie "Death Race", you'll love this game. Great handling, destruction, racing, and cars and weapons.

I bought Final Fantasy IV/Complete collection not long ago from the psn store. I recommend it to anyone who loves rpg games but in comparison to the ds remake of it the psp version is easy but it still has its own perks to brag about like bonus dungeons :)

Borderlands 2 on PC. Having a blast with it on co-op! If anyone fancies joining me, add me on Steam and give me a shout, will probably be playing for quite a while yet (can be found under Hellfire_WZ or ironknackers)

I got Beyond - Two Souls for Christmas. More of an interactive movie than a game really, however Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe alone are worth a playthrough, their acting is pretty mesmerizing.

On the whole I felt the game was far too linear and sometimes the camera angles and control scheme were a total nightmare to deal with but I really enjoyed it for what it was. Apart from Wipeout, it is by far the best looking game I've seen on the PS3 and worth a try if you like this kind of thing

AGSys
24th January 2014, 12:22 PM
Hey stinkle, would you say it was similar to Heavy Rain?

mannjon
24th January 2014, 09:48 PM
Its one of three for me, I can't remember which! It was either Child of Eden (awesome rail shooter that is a prequel to Rez), Skylanders Swapforce, or Tales of Xillia (special edition with different costumes!).

Can't wait for: Lightning Returns, and South Park: Stick of Truth

@Nocturnal: Definitely purchase X/X-2 in HD! I think they are actually both included in the one game. I wish they would go back to that style of play for new RPG's. If I had enough I would have already pre-ordered it.

stinkleroy
25th January 2014, 08:09 AM
@AGsys - Yeah it's kind of like Heavy Rain but I think in Beyond you feel like less of a participant and more of a viewer. I also felt as though I had less choice of how events will turn out in Beyond and choices you made merely altered tiny variants of the story rather than changing the story itself. I think theres a demo on the store if you want to try it out :)

Hmm, yeah I think I will. Thanks! So far many people I've come across have said that the game looks amazing and the cinematics were some of the best, so that's gotta mean something.

i bought the 'Curve Studios Megabundle' today for 14.99€ including 'Thomas Was Alone' / 'Stealth Inc' / 'Lone Survivor' / 'Proteus'. all 4 games are playable on PS3 & PSVita. only played 'Proteus' so far, which is very unique in it's style. i've no idea yet, what's the goal of the game :D

Yay, I bought wip3out, damn cool game.

Try and get the WO3SE edition, it's even better, it has tracks from WO1 re done to WO3 standard, and some tracks that were only released from the WO1 Japanese version included.

Actually for some reason the original WO3 will not play on my PS3, but the WO3SE version will.

WO3SE can often be found on Ebay sold as a PAL region double pack with Destruction Derby 2 [you might want to search DD2 to see if it is listed under that] ;)

Lately I bought Beyond Two Souls but to be frank while I loved Heavy Rain, I didn't like BTS. Why? Cuz I did a test. When I got attacked I stopped controlling my character and she killed the enemy by herself. Really, what's the point of playing a game when you don't have ANY influence on what's going on? That's a shame.

I got it!!! Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster!!! And It looks fantastic!!! It still plays very much how it used to, remastered sound track which sounds amazing. That along side the graphics has given an already amazing game a whole new feeling to it. Cant wait to get right back into it!!! I grabbed the limited edition version which gives me a lovely wee book full of art as well as the game. Totally recommending this one to EVERYONE!!!

Guess I'm going through an RPG phase! I'm always adding to my Skylander collection too. Does that count?

I've been trying to finish the epic Dragon's Dogma - Dark Arisen which I got as a free game for being a +Plus subscriber.[currently cleaning up in a NG+ 240 hours played so far ]
I'd never heard of it prior to downloading it, and had it about 2 months before starting it.
Similar in vein to Elder Scrolls, but IMHO a lot better

I got Dragons Dogma free with plus too but didn't even install it, I'll take your recommendation BW and pass it on to AnE as he loved Skyrim :)

Finishing it was painfull, because of how bad & boring i found it.
My advice, don't buy it.

The Last Of Us for my Dad as a gift for Fathers day...

ITS SO AMAZING ^_^

Oh dear god mate, I concur BIG TIME! :D That game is a masterpiece, although I don't think remastering it into PS4 is worth it - Naughty Dog did admit that they had a hard time porting it.

As for my previous game that I've bought myself... I'll have to go with Uncharted 3, since I got it for my friend as a birthday gift - after all, it was a full retail purchase, and it's been way too long since I've bought any video game at all + ironically both Snake and I got something for our loved ones. Quite odd, for a coincidence... :|

Bought Dark Souls 2 which remains a great game but maybe the more frustrating of the serie.

And Race The Sun (http://flippfly.com/racethesun/) i'm really enjoying.
It's relaxing and very challenging at the same time with a nice color sheme and kind of a new challenge everyday as the game's engine build a new world everyday. (with the same patterns)

Wip3out: Special Edition actually! Whilst not in perfect condition, and missing the booklet unfortunately, the case, cover and disc were a steal on ebay for $15AU! I didn't even KNOW that SE had an Australian release, so I was incredibly surprised to find it on eBay all of a sudden when there's usually nothing interesting WipEout related coming from here. Bought it in a heart-beat and it arrived today :D Looking forward to seeing how it compares to vanilla W3 later, after exams :D

Borderlands 2 for the PS Vita, it came with the standard game and 6 DLC's all for £25. That's a bargain :D

I really like it despite the harsh reviews, its brilliant for that price, just a frame rate issue but its uncommon for it to happen.
Definitely recommend it for you PS Vita owners ;)

Just a suggestion, if you get BL2 on the Vita, you'll probably want to get a grip accessory. I can't really effectively play it without it. Also to clarify, it is NOT cross-play. Just cross-save. Still, great game for the price, and cross-save is an awesome way to may BL2 more accessible.

I just recently finished the X remaster on PS3, and the only trophy I lacked was maxing out everyone's sphere grid and seeing that could take a while, I went ahead and got it for the Vita. Let me just say, the graphics are equally stunning on the Vita.

Then much to my surprise, the Vita's version of X-2 is a download only. Which I consider a plus, because I can play X, and then switch over to X-2 in a new tab without having to close either one! The cross-save was a little tricky to figure out, but it works flawlessly. I never actually played much of X-2 on the PS2 (despite owning the game for nearly a decade). I really hope they port 12 over to the Vita or remaster that someday too, though I doubt it will happen.

Raiden IV : Overkill
A great smhup, release on the store few month ago. Actually 50% off on psn, which is what i was waiting to buy it (9.99€ instead 19.99€).

If you want a great smhup, take it. It's hard, but also easy. There is some "noob" settings, like a very easy difficulty option, lots of continues etc.
So it's a great smhup, perfect for "cyborg" players who can one credit the game in Ultimate (probably 3-5 guys in the world lol), but also perfect for everyone else because of the different settings that can make it accessible for everyone. Lots of fun, challenging if you want etc.
Highly recommanded by me! :D You will not regret your buy.

Bought Pokemon OmegaRuby last week at launch day :D

New stories implemented into the game's plot made this remake feel fresh and new, while still bringing about nostalgia from playing the original game on the gameboy. The game is awesome overall, but the lack of a Battle Frontier is dissapointing (also, it seems that there is no way to rematch the Gym Leaders post-game...)

Cipher
30th November 2014, 07:49 PM
Could you ever re-match the gym leaders? I don't think so o_O
I only really went up to emerald, so don't know beyond that, but i don't think you could re-challenge a gym leader in those/ earlier pokémon games

Also, i definitely recommend Pokémon Colosseum, it's quite different from the Pokémon you know and doesn't follow the story line at all, but it's refreshing and a nice change in gameplay, and the visuals are pure eye candy, full 3D pokémon models as well as beautiful particle FX for the attack moves, great game! ^^
(supports ruby/emerald/saphire pokémon as well, just transfer them over :D )

Cipher

DraconianWing
30th November 2014, 08:10 PM
The original ruby and sapphire never gave the option to rematch the gym leaders (emerald did though) but it definitely wouldn't hurt adding it to the remake. Gym leader rematches were one of the implementations that made heartgold and soulsilver such good remakes, so I see no excuse for them to not do the same thing with omegaruby and alphasapphire. However, with 3ds games being able to take updates, I wouldn't be surprised if rematches were patched in and the battle frontier became dlc in the near future.

I bought lbp3 which is definitely a true good addition to lbp2.
Controls are smoother and sackboy jumps are a lot more accurate.
Developpers create new tools and characters, allowing the level design to be more funny and challenging with a deeper gameplay.
I can't talk about the level editor and didn't play community levels yet but i guess you're able to create crazy levels.
Loading times are a bit boring at the moment and sometimes you wonder why you must wait that long to load a menu or a 10 seconds cinematic but hopefully they'll manage to improve this.
If you're interessed by playing this kind of platform game with some friends, you'll have a blast :nod

Just got Super Smash Bro's Wii U. HATE IT!!!!! But just before that I got Hyrule Warriors which I absolutely love!

I figured I'll wait until PS4 releases better games before investing and horde all the Nintendo Exclusives in the mean time. Other recent games are: Bayonetta 2 (AWESOME!!!!!!), Mariokart 8 (Not WO... but AWESOME!!!), and Zombi-U which I've been to scared to play recently after my first few missions. It is absolutely terrifying to play alone with all the lights off.

Firstly, OBJECTION!!! but in all honesty why don't you like the new smash bros?
Secondly agree with the ZombiU statement, most nerve racking game I've played.

Anyway I bought Ratchet and Clank into the Nexus recently and was kinda disappointed with it, hope they manage to get the series back in a good direction soon as Into the Nexus and All 4 One were a bit of a let down :P

Firstly, OBJECTION!

I would do get Phoenix Wright if there was a mode that made you yell BULLS**T!!

Other then that, got Ace Combat: Skies of Deception. It's ok. WipEout: Pure is more fun. All I'm going to say.

@Snake: It just sucks. I guess if I had 4 roomates that all had little nintendo hand helds it might be more entertaining, but as it is now it is exceedingly boring. Gameplay is stale, lifeless, unresponsive, and pointless. It seems as though all you do is try to knock other people out of an arena. No skill involved. Just button mash, and actually hitting them doesn't seem to really matter at all so long as you knock them off. It would be one thing if it actually meant something to land hits and stuff or there were combo moves as in a fighting game, but it doesn't. The only thing that actually matters is knocking players off and that alone. They should have called it Super Fling Brothers, as that would have been more accurate.

There is no single player mode to speak of. You can't easily remap the buttons (you have to select to use the custom control scheme EACH AND EVERY MATCH). Absolutely horrible design for the UI. Clunky controls. Generic and bland gameplay elements. No story -at all. The whole game is just utterly pointless unless you roll with a crew of 3DS having 11 year olds that don't have a PS3 or Wipeout.

I just don't see the appeal at all. It seems like a mindless button masher horror show snoozefest.

Snakenator1
20th February 2015, 12:03 PM
Fair enough, its the first time I've heard someone not like a Smash Bro's but I don't mind as you make a valid point. I agree with the re-maping controller scheme problem.

Distance (http://store.steampowered.com/app/233610/), been a backer since it's inception. Spent 25+ hours on it so far and loving it. Its absolutely gorgeous on the GTX 960. Track editor is nice too, been making some WipEout inspired tracks (and clones) but it's style of gameplay and mechanics doesn't always play nicely with WipEout's style of tracks.

Maybe on ps4 some time later, but ps3 seems unlikely. For the time being it's exclusive to microsoft. That being said I can recommend it without any doubts, I'm playing through it the second time at the moment.
And FEZ is also good, some really good music and rock hard riddles.

@Temet: I don't have a computer, only a ps3. So steam isn't an option for me ;) .
Is it possible to play recent games on pc with a playstation 3 or 4 controller or is only possible to use xbox controllers? (just curious).

@Liod19: FEZ have been released on ps3 few years after the xbox version. But now the ps4 is out, yes you are right: if one day ori come on playstation it will probably be too late to be released on ps3, it will be on ps4 only :( .
You said you are already playing it for the second time. How long it takes to finish it at 100%? Is it really short or did you just played it alot?

____________

Also, how much does it cost on xbox and on steam?

Liod19
23rd March 2015, 07:17 PM
If you want to visit every corner of the world map and collect alle the stuff it will probably take you around 10 hours. I was at around 14 hours when I finished my first playthrough, but that is because I really suck at platformers, now I am at 6 hours.
So yeah, it probably is a bit short for the price they are asking, it's 20 euros on steam. But in my personal opinion it's worth every cent.

And for your controller question, it is possible to connect the playstation controllers to pc, but it's really complicated and you will need additional programs and hardware, so probably not worth the effort. I would go with an xbox 360 controller, almost all the steam games recognize it automatically. Different to the ps4 one, I didn't get it running properly with my games.

JFthebestJan
23rd March 2015, 08:55 PM
@ kleido: it's not complicated to connect a DS3 to a PC, you just need to do it via USB. you don't need additional hardware, so what Liod said, isn't correct at all. what you do need is a freeware program called 'Monition Joy'. the cool thing about it, you can remap all buttons to your personal liking.

kleidoscopik_1er
23rd March 2015, 09:28 PM
Hum yes, 20 euros seems exagerated. But with the "hype" around the game, i assume they can sell it at a price a bit high without difficulties to find buyers.

@JF: Ah ok.
If there is a freeware that make it easy to use a ds3 on pc that's nice. But sad that you have to use something like that. Players should be allowed to use what what they prefer without havibg to search for some specific programs to make it working. Business business....

I've read some news when the ps4 was about to be released, saying that sony wanted to make the ds4 as easier to use on pc as xbox controllers. I guess it's not that simple because of microsoft making "pc tools" adapted to microsoft stuff only. What about the ds4 now? Still like the ds3?

Aidan
23rd March 2015, 11:58 PM
I would avoid motioninjoy like the plague, it is know to install malware and other unwanted pieces of software in chrome which calls home to servers in China with user data. There's a better (free and open source) driver called SCP driver which allows DS2, DS3 and DS4 controllers to connect to your computer and act as xbox 360 controllers. You can search PS3 SCP Server or DS4windows for the DS3 and DS4 versions respectively.

The DS4 will work natively on windows to some degree, it uses the deprecated DirectInput input method. The never version of DirectInput is called XInput which is what all modern games which have controller support use. This means that older games might work out of the box with the DS4 but for the most part they won't unless you use the SCP server which makes the controller use XInput. I'm not sure why Sony didn't make the DS4 use XInput, I'm pretty sure you don't have to pay royalties or license fees to Microsoft so I don't see why they wouldn't.

@Knux_Chaotix I chose the White Lotus faction

I am just a shade under half way through the single player story. The difficulty seems oddly inconsistent. But then that may be more reflective of me than the game design... I am just awful as slow characters when pitted against someone fast.

Last game I bought was GRID 2 for Ps3, intensely captivating. I wasn't expecting much but it sure delivers! 8.5/10
Pros: Beautiful graphics, tiny backstory, YouTube fans as currency and awesome high end hypercar crash on Full damage mode!
Cons: Tiny backstory, ultimate suspense at end of tournament and some very aggressive AI racers (Bruno Silva), not being able to replay career after career completion.
Best Moment: Winning a large championship with Pagani Huayra.
Worst: Stupid Bruno Silva dove into the rock face and pinned me at Cote D'Azur. With my Pagani Huayra. I got 4th, he got 11th

Awesome game, worth buying

DOOM. Its bloody amazing so far. Really enjoying the campaign.

I was kinda reluctant on whether DOOM would live up to the same "run-and-gun everything" fun that the original one had back in 1993 - turns out that reluctancy was partially washed away when I saw some singleplayer footage of it after its release.

Is it worth the 60€/£/$ price tag though? :?

Bought StarFox Zero a few weeks back and I must say after playing the game and reading some reviews, my view of "don't ever trust video game reviewers" has been reinforced. The game is awesome even with its somewhat unorthodox control system, I honestly can't play one of my older StarFox games without the motion aiming anymore because it works and feels so good and rewarding to play with. Definitely the StarFox I've been waiting 10years for.

My only real gripes with the control scheme is that doing barrel rolls is a little tricky and annoying because its so easy to boost or brake instead (all 3 inputs are on the right stick) and switching from my tv screen to gamepad screen makes for difficult gameplay scenarios, I'm looking at you aquarosa.
Highly recommend this game however, don't let the BS reviews scare you away as most of them were written by morons who don't like innovative gameplay controls and spend to much time kissing cods ass *cough cough* polygon *cough cough*

Bought Uncharted 4, like pretty much everybody else...... I can see why it's the last of the franchise.

Don't get me wrong, it's an enjoyable game....but does seem to drag on a bit.

There is a LOT of jumping around cliff's and with ropes in UC4....... but as well as this is executed , it becomes repetitive, and without a logical reason, and some stages just seem 'Filler" stages, just to lengthen the game.

The Story is good.....but it has very little emotional impact on you....unlike The Last of US , which is Naughty Dogs best to date....and after the huge success of that game, is I gather the direction where, Uncharted having become predictable, it was time to retire Uncharted, and then rightly head down new 'Emotive Gaming' they have found themselves expert at.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Unfortunately I found the controls to be a massive barrier, ended up fighting with the gamepad more than I should have been. If they'd have just kept it simple like in Star Fox 64 then it would have suited me down to the ground. I waited a long time for this one too and now I really don't want to pick it up again :?

Definitely see where you're coming from, the need to realign the gyros every minute is a nuisance and I've had a fair share of frustration with the controls mainly with switching from looking at the TV screen and gamepad. I also found the lack of in depth missions to be a tad disappointing, 12 main missions with 8 satellite missions makes for a short game. Also no vs mode or online wtf?

I did however get to try co-op with my girlfriend (which is a day I will never forget) and it made the controls much easier to use as it splits the roles between each player, one flies the arwing while the other aims. Have to admit it's kinda fun, nothing special but makes the game less annoying on the controls aspect.

One thing I absolutely love is playing with the retro arwing, the nostalgia it brings back from starwing. I love it ^^

There is one particularly nasty track that opens up at the end of the game where you have to basically stay balanced on a single thin strip of track, almost like you are racing along rooftops.
I could never manage it with the N64 controller, just too twitchy for me.

My computer's got about twice the recommended processing and graphics power, still can only run the game in the absolute lowest settings at 1024x768 resolution, and even then it can suffer some slowdowns. Not really sure what this says about the AAA gaming industry... I've tried a lot of option tweaking, but even just setting the resolution to 1280x720 just kills the gameplay. wipEout Omega Collection a few days back. (Seeing the release date, I assumed it was coming out in July, then I realized that it was UK style : day/month/year). And after spending a bit of time reading the web, discovered Formula Fusion, so I bought that one today.

Does that include all the Tatooine, Deathstar and the episode 7 stuff too? If so, that's a good deal!!!

The last game I bought was Dragon Quest Builders. That game is surprisingly addictive and nostalgic, even though I've never cared much for other Dragon Quest games. But after work today, I'm going to be picking up the Omega Collection, making it my latest pick-up instead (finally!).

Redout (+Nepute DLC), will pick up the other DLC shortly. I love this game, it makes me want to buy a VR headset.

{EDIT}

Picked up the other DLC (V.E.R.T.E.X.), and then also bought GRIP.

I have yet to install GRIP, but it looks fun :

I picked up Crash a couple of days ago too. Really good remake, although The High Road can take a running jump off one of its f**king broken bridges. :lol

@Hellfire_WZ tell me about it!! XDD THe jump mechanic feels a little off in the older games but that might just be me remembering how I had to play with clunky controls lol

No, you're absolutely right, the jumping is off. I read somewhere that it was to do with the hitbox for Crash being more of a "capsule" shape rather than a box like the original. So whereas before you might just about make a jump, in this one you'll slide off. I remember The High Road in the original game, and while it was certainly one of the hardest levels, it was nowhere near as rage inducing as it is now. I did it last night, cost me over 50 lives... and I missed ONE BOX.

Are the controls for Crash still with the D-Pad only?

No, you can use analog stick with crash 1 and 2 now
