Update is up, here are the changes:
- DETONATOR fully working
- you can EDIT times (even to worsen them)
- you can DELETE your own times (yours + the ones you added)
- chatbot traffic has been optimized
- many bbcodes are now useable
- ranking traffic has been reduced even more
- various bugs have been eliminated

By the way, congrats to Rathboneski, he already got 383 records out of 440!

For that purpose a new user, "Bot" has been created, he's the best wipeout
player in the world, in fact nobody can beat him, he's like a super Zico, I added
a few of his times, but there are 440 records total!

I need to know at least his SL and TT records, and if possible Zone and Deton.
too, so that's about 248 records.

If you guys can add some of his times, especially people really good at SL/TT
in each class (like yeldar2097, XBARNSTERX, Leungbok), would be really useful,
and then I'll make his records invisible again.

Connavar - I can add a record for Bot for Chenghou Project Reverse Time Trial.

My best lap on that is 21.35. Typically 1st laps are around 1 second slower than the others. So that gives a theoretical best time (for me) of 1.47.75. So let's say a time of 1.47.50 for Bot. Is that the kind of thing you mean?

Connavar explained Bot above. It's temporary. In theory it has the best possible times. It will be hidden soon and then if someone enters a ludicrous time it will be compared to Bot to see if it is feasible.

Apologies for being a bit thick, but which 'user pass'?

I assume that you need to register a password for use on your site, but whenever I try to do this, the screen flashes for a second, and the info I've input vanishes.

I tried just putting in my PSN ID, and my Wipeout Zone Forum password, but they don't work. Is it the PSN Network password you're supposed to put in? Wouldn't have thought that this was necessary as involves giving access to your account information.

If I've maybe registered a long time ago and forgot my password, then I don't see any way of retreiving it. Would love to use your site, so any help would be most welcome. (feel free to PM if this is hogging the forum thread - thought I should post it here incase anybody else has the same problem in future).

Those black cells have filled out, maybe it's a IE-problem. I checked another matrix (from Yeldar2097) and there are also black cells.

How is the overall ranking calculated. I am standing last (place 6.416) but have more points or a better average than some other players.

I just played Vineta K forward in Flash in a time 25.59 with Icaras. I used a turbo just before the finishline, made the 3 "easy" barrelrolls with the other turbo.

to see what i mean compare youre matrix to mine, i have a lot of empty boxes compared to you but most of the ones i have done are above 450 placing me higher on average. look at the bottom/right of each collum to see how its worked out

that's a nice version I didn't know, but............

the fastest lap was ca. 27.6, I now have 28.33 so I can better myself.

But Greenix has a record of 24.59 seconds and that is 3 seconds quicker. Explain it to me.

Boost into the Air. And hold down the cancel lap button, just as you get it back again before the S/F line, boost again (while still pitching up), then you can BR.

I don't seem to be able to sort out the order you view your tracks in i.e. the order they are on the game itself. Before when you clicked 'track' it changed it for you. Just makes it easier to check when updating your records.

I must have about 10 records that have not been updated on the race records as yet.

Heh, that got to me too. Connavar sorts them more correctly with forward and reverse tracks bunched togehter. WO shows the original 8 forward tracks, then the original 8 reverse and finally the Fury tracks forward/reverse.

Data synchronization could easily be achieved securely through both sites by using an RPC program configured as a web service.

chboing, are you still doing the mass updates? If you are could you somehow avoid uploading my TT score on Ubermall reverse? It's a glitch in the record tables that has nothing to do with me and I keep correcting it but it keeps going back to the glitched time on Connavar's site.

In fact, I think people should only update their own scores at the moment because the tables are completely screwed up with glitches and not updating etc.

Why am I standing on the last place, because i haven't the worst points (145.386) or the worst average (345). Do I get punished because I filled in a lot of records (421)? :redface:

The index = (total points + (450 points for all your blank stats)) / 440(which is the total number of records).

Eg. You have 421 records out of 440. So you have 19 blank records. You get 450 points for each one. This is 8550 points. Add this to your total points (146364) and you get 154914 total.
Divide this by 440 (total records), and your index is 352.

Eg. the person above you Arma12 only has 61660 points. But he has 234 blank records. He gets 450 points for each one. This is 105300 points. Add this to the 61660, and you get 166960. Divide by total records to get his index. 166960/440 = 379.

Maybe it would be better if Connovar adjusts this 450 "default" number to something lower?

From my point of view a bad record is better than no record at all so if we don't want to assign a 0 to a missing record maybe Connavar can find which is the lower points record and assign it X-1 points.

for the ranking for empty cells you should take the lowest record for that cell and substract 10 point.

Do you have an idea when you are going to change something? The online records aren't updated anymory (race und multiplayerrace) and your rankingslist isn't also :frown:

@ Connovar. I think the formula works fine. Its just the 450 base default value that needs changing. Either a lower constant or maybe something like an average of your worst 10 records for a variable.

@ prttoettoet. Here is your example:

Convert the times into seconds. Best time = 115.62. Your time = 129.88

Formula then becomes: 1000*exp((115.62-129.88 )*9)/129.88 )

= 1000*exp((-14.26*9)/129.88 )
=1000*exp(-128.34/129.88 )
=1000*exp(-0.988 )
= 372 when rounded.

On your site for example you could have say 58.77% for a score but on the in game records it only says 58.7%. how is the last digit right if it doesnt display it in game. I'm trying to better my personal records. For moderate players like me (i use all the speedpads, the boost and the normal br's (but no tricks bsb, shortcuts, complex br's, because I am not able to do them), it isn't almost possible to get higher points than ca. 300 in comparions to the "insane" (i mean very good:clap) times. If you would give 200 or lower points to a non played game, we "standard" players could also get higher on the ranking list. I think now 450 points for a non played game is way too high.

The bot has been put in place by connavar to have unbeatable times. This is so that later on he/she/it can be implemented in such a way as to prevent people from adding bs times. Creates a general standard cos the formula stays the same etc...

hidden/displayed, and where the first non-bot player receives 1000 points
(in that case, the bot gets more than 1000 points!), that way, everyone is

I had a few runs yesterday to see, managed a 1 34 with 9 brs an 4 boosts, , one was uphill at the end.
With 6 boosts his time is definitely possible, used in the right places of course.

well, 23.02 is ur best lap time on speed lap event ... if u do like every one , you use 2 boost to do it . So u need 8 boost on a single race to have same conditions ....
i didnt say that it was impossible , ive only said the gap was too high between ur 2 racetime ( 1'41 and 1'26 )
check multi and single racetime by track and check time trial ... how many race time are better than equivalent track time trial . there is none i think .

Formula has changed, normally it should be very objective, I probably will tweak
it a little bit further, to prevent someone with only 1 record to be highly ranked.

I don't want to speak at the place of Connavar about that, but for some well known players who owns the top of various leaderbords, glitched times musn't appears on the site.
It's already annoying to see that some of this times still remains on the official leaderboards ! Anulpha zone were not the only leaderboard in total mess.
So let's keep Connavar's site clean to avoid any frustration.

To be perfectly honest I would have my doubts that the top 3 times on Moa are legit on Conn's site. In all respect if there were a lot of your times that were pushing the top tens then you probably wouldn't have a problem with people believing it is a proper race time, but as it is some of them are in the 300's. Do you not feel it is a little strange that you had a no 1 record and all the rest of your times are no where near as fast?

I myself have a time on one particular track that looks plausible and would put me in the top ten, trouble is my real time is about four seconds slower. The glitches on the leaderboards are everywhere.

No. I'm still rather new compared to the rest of you and most of my times there are my first attempt, but I've learned to improve on some tracks more than others, like Ubermall. It's easier to use a lot of turbos in lower classes, especially on Moa. The only thing that surprises me is that the rest of you don't think it's legitimate.

I'm learning, however, that many people who care about times do not play a lot of multiplayer, perhaps thinking its random elements are unfair. So they do not have experience winning the turbo lottery and thus have a narrower conception of what times are possible.

Maybe my time is glitched. I don't think it looks that fast, compared to others that are believed legit. I certainly won't be able to do it every time. Philosophically, maybe that alone is enough for SL/TT aficionados to discount my time. I wish they would just say that they didn't like MP.

Well I don't play SL or TT much and play MP all the time but I still think it is wrong.

You seem convinced it is a legit time Koleax so you should have the benifit of the doubt, although i should say if you can beat the best players so easily on this one track then it should transfer to the others without question. You won't see many random names up in the top ten, the names will keep repeating themselves over all tracks. It's cool if it's true, but there are a lot of people here (and a bot) who think it isn't. Sorry.

I agree about the top 3 MP Moa Venom times for 2 reasons.

1. Who are those guys? I've played FREAKOFMETAL and he's just a casual eliminator player who probably likes FPS. Gatan78's other times are in the 400s and 500s.
2. These top three records have best lap times that are close to 3 seconds better than 4th place (yeldar) and on. Pretty simple really.

Also if you look at places 11, 12 and 14 you see suspicious best lap times and unknown player IDs. So basically you can have legit looking glitched times but the key to weeding them out is looking at the best lap...

Part deux:

Take a look at MP Chenghou Venom. Same situation as Moa. The top three times are "unknowns" and have insane best lap times. I'm sure there's many more instances...

I'm not sure that if you have a Best Lap glitched it belongs to the same Total Time race, for example
Yeldar in Chenghou R/Venom/Multi has:
Conna Site: Total 1.44.88 - Best Lap 33.20
SL Leaderboard: Total 1.44.88 - Best Lap 19.68
his BL glitched in a second time probably, maybe he can confirm this.


So let's keep Connavar's site clean to avoid any frustration.
I totally agree but the problem remains, if I have a glitched time in Best Lap for example, it will never update so for that track/class combo I can't have any record.

In conclusion the Leaderboards are not definitely fixed.
SL should recruit a Leaderboard expert IMO, rewrite totally this part of the game and release a patch.
Until that we'll read endless discussions about which time is legitimate or not.

It's essential for the game longevity!

still a question and some remarks,

The formula of the laptimes haven't changed; could you give me the formula for zone and detonator (for my excel sheet).

I've have given in all my records (440) also the bot-deleted ones and sank of course on the ranking because I really suck on zone and detonator (with 2 and 6 points :+), still......

you say i should not delete my bad records. If you look in the rankinglist there are 2 people just above me: tumult with only 6 records and Wormwood with only 9 records.

Wouldn't it be fairer to make the rankingsystem independant of the gathered points? I mean with my very good 6 points at the detonatorrace, I have to put in 166 records to get one 1000 point record.

With your actual system you have to delete records to get higher on the ranking system. I still don't understand why you get points if you don't fill in a record. Now filling in no records is more appreciated than fill in (bad) records.

The formula will be tweaked a bit, but expect to be behind some better players
who have less records than you still ... the best way to go up in ranks is to
keep playing the game and improve the records where you have the least points

I know what you mean but do not completely agree. So I better delete all my records and leave the one in the 800's (lucky one) and I am higher on the ranking list.
