ok, the question is straight, i've to purchase a psp before xmas , i have to think upon a bit on which model i've to get, so i ask some advising about which is better, psp2000 or the new 3000?

Well, on PSP 2000 you have a chance of being able to run something I cannot mention here. PSP 3000, no chance for now.
PSP 3000 has a better screen though, and an integrated mic for those few games who use it.
Other than that, they're basically the same, both are Slim and lite, other features are the same.

Like you, Darkfaerytales, I "had" to order a PSP (meaning I´m on the road between xmas and new year and the addiction to WO has grown so huge, that I need to bring something like WO Pulse, just to satisfy my needs).
As Darkdrium777 said, the difference is not that big, except for the unmentionable thing, and the screen. I´ve read different views according the screen. The contrast should be quite a lot better on the PSP-3000, but some are reporting visible scanlines and an off-colour whitebalance. I don´t know, it´s just something I read on the www.
I ended up ordering a PSP-2000.

i've understand what you intend , already i know, but i'm not interested in that " customising things " anyway, so my only concern is that issue about the interlacing horizontal lines on the new screen of the psp 3000

and maybe this a stupid question but you can put download stuff like the pure DLC packs on the psp 3000?
i know it is a stupid question but any response will be well appreciated

Yeah, of course you can.
Regarding the screen: Your better off going to a shop to see for yourself if WO (Pure or Pulse) causes scanlines and if that´s something that´ll worry you. Unless someone on WO-zone actually is using a PSP-3000 and are able to give you the answer;).

i had the same dilema a few weeks back when i picked up another psp to play some ffvii: crisis core and go for all golds on the 2 wipeout titles.

i looked into it a lot.

decided on a 2000 model. the 3000 does have much brighter, sharper colours, but the scanlines would have bugged me.

but you can play with download games from psn store like wipeout 1 for exemple, or others, with psp 3000?

Well certainly. Why wouldn't you be? It's still a PSP. ;)

I'd say neither - get a 1000 if at all possible.

The sheer weight of the 1000, combined with the flimsy on/off/hold switch mean I can only recommend a 2000 or 3000. :)

ok, listen, i've bought a psp 3000 yesterday and the one & only thing i have to say is all that story about the " annoying uber-noticeable interlaced horizontal scan lines " and so is a big huge bull****

i assure you there aren't any damned horizontal line , wipeout pure run smoothly and vividly and it's uber-amazing

at least i talk for me, maybe the psp who sell in italy haven't that screen issue, i don't know...mine it's just perfect :+

my 3-year-old 1000 series now permanently turns left, has a dark patch on the screen, and has intermittently working wifi, I don't think a 1000 is the best option, seeing as they will mostly be preowned ;)

Why though? apart from the nicer feel in your hands, I don't really see why...

Well, the 1000's screen isn't as resistant as the 2000's or the 3000's. My 1000 is full of deep scratches, but the 2000 is fine, only a few minor scratches, and I've used both for roughly the same amount of time.

from the day i've bought my psp 3000, i've clean the screen how many times? 12-15 times with wet screen cleaning wipes without alcool ( absolutely DEADLY with lcd! ) then a wipe with a buckskin cloth for dry it up et voilÃ*! screen turning back perfect as when i've get it out of the box!

Thanks for the reports. I'm considering upgrading to a PSP 3000 now and get Wipeout Pulse with it :D

The last time i checked PSP 3000 had these advantages over its predecessor:

Brighter Screen
Integrated Microphone (for skype)
Just a bit curvier at the edges
shorter battery life

hahhaaha actually shorter battery life is an advantage?

hehehe, yes.
btw.: those advantages are poor...the only good thing is the built-in mic.

some of you have already try to call with skype with psp?

i have...i have to say that listen a friend voice coming out of the speakers is too cool , and talking with him in the mic too, but sometimes the performance is average...maybe remain better a modest mobile...
