There's another Screen connected to my laptop making the desktop 1280*1024 pixels bigger at the left side. I left that out because it's basically the same background image (just in 4:3 and not 16:9) and there are no other objects visible. It's only more working space :)

The bottom folder on my desktop says applications, I keep all my shortcuts in there because I just can't stand a load of shortcuts messing up my desktop, I like it clean and tidy, furthermore they would cover up my wallpaper. :P

the image I'm using is davids entry from the 1st Anniversary Wallpaper Competition (http://www.wipeoutzone.com/downloads.php) I've been using it on and off for the last 6 months and just recently changed it's colour, the Qirex from 2097 is my favourite craft from my favourite game. On my actual desktop I only have two folders and my recycling bin, the icons are switched off as I use Rocketdock (http://rocketdock.com/) and the microsoft start bar(which I keep hidden up top) for everything now which helps me keep a nice and tidy desktop : )

I like both of your desktops, Yeldar. The FEISAR one is crazy with the mid-barrel-rolling. I can't even tell what OS you're using with all that fancy stuff you've got going on.

I prefer my desktops to be a bit simpler. Most of my wallpapers are made by me or taken from DA. My current one was found somewhere on DA after searching for a while. My wallpaper has to be just right :). The calender is a program called Rainlender, which is useful for organising WipEout events and such.

i chose to use a dock because i don't like having to choose a wallpaper based on my icon layout (clashing really pisses me off). this way i can have whatever wallpaper i like :D

I've tried dock programs before, but I've never been able to get used to them. I simply prefer the good old start button, task bar and desktop icons. I suppose we all have different ways of working our own spaces and I'm a bit stubborn with desktops.

I was the same. I downloaded the rocket dock years ago and couldn't find a use for it. But I downloaded it again a few months ago just because I always thought they looked funky. After a while I found my use for it.

Having a lot of shortcuts on the quick launch (as I always used to) shrinks the space on the taskbar for open windows, which was always annoying for me as the description disappears. With the dock I can use the full taskbar for open windows and hide shortcuts away on the dock, as well as minimized windows. So anything I'm currently using or working on is on the taskbar for quick access, and anything I'm not using right now but might need, or often use, is hidden on the dock. I find it a useful hybrid solution, especially after shrinking the dock down in size - it's essentially a slightly oversized quick launch bar.

But nothing will ever stop my desktop from getting cluttered with a tonne of icons (hidden away in the above photo).

this is my desktop and I took this amazing pic (well to me anyway)while I was on holiday.
Where is that? That is quite an intriguing picture, are the trees surrounded by ice?

My current wallpaper is some of the wallpaper off the official Lotus F1 website, who I wish the best of luck in the rest of the F1 season.

Up North of Scotland, near Elgin, (you can look it up through Google Earth), I was driving past these trees, seen it and I`d thought, that`s look really nice, so I borrowed my daughter`s fancy`s camera, I took quite a few different angles to take a better picture and that was took at mid February where the winter weather still took place.:banzai Personally, I`m fair pleased at that. But I didn`t realised how hard to take a right angle way of how to take a picture!:eek
