Oh actually it just occurred to me, maybe he meant burned games as in say my original copy of Wipeout on the disk and not like the PSN download version of the game? In any case PS1 games largly work OK on a PS3 in my experience

nah guys forget i asked anything, i didnt realize it was so taboo here. i thought since people talked about custom firmware and modding PSPs to allow "ripped versions" of PS1 games to be played on their PSP, that it was okay to ask this in the off topic section, especially if i already own the original copies of whatever game. case closed and im sorry for posting

The PS3 will not play burned PS1 games, "legal" or not.
