I just watched the trailer here (http://www.cinematical.com/2007/12/06/first-look-speed-racer-trailer/) and am grabbing an HD copy from the link further down that page

Looks freakin' awesome

but the main reason that I am posting it in here is that the shots we see of tracks look like something straight out of a wipeout game :)

I did not really now about Speed Racer before I heard about the Wachowski brothers movie either. This is the kind of thing that would only interest me if there was nostalgia involved.
