hello again, weed's great but there is evidence that it exacerbates the chance of becoming schizophrenic, and it affects memory and obv. energy levels. **** doesn't get done when you're stoned. and of course smoking it is inhaling heated plant matter into your lungs which isn't advisable.

it is however a natural plant as you are all pointing out, and it has beneficial effects and also causes few problems socially besides all the pitfalls of dealers, which if govs were sensible wouldn't be able to sell it if it were a legal, regulated product. although, who knows what they'd do with the plant if they were in charge - look at baccy and bevs.

the fact of it is that we could grow it ourselves without much fuss if it were legal, and that would solve a LOT of problems. pharmas wouldn't want that though because they've got a monopoly on some of those solutions and don't want people and govs and medical institutions not spending their monies on them

even though a lot of these patented, synthetic medications cause as many problems as they solve and some are even deadly if not consumed with care and moderation. natural medication ftw, but that's a subdued industry and line of thought nowadays

alcohol and ciggies are delicious but also cause death, illness and social problems on a massive scale and quantity as is common knowledge now. most illegal narcs are also pretty dangerous and even other natural no-nos like shrooms and opium create far more distinctive effects in users

i suppose you could distill the argument to a duke-out between natural and synthetic substances

i don't know. most medications are generally more helpful then they are destructive with minimised side effects when consumption directives are observed and adhered to, and alcohol also has many encouragingly positive and significant benefits when consumed in strict moderation, and the study of the effects of weed is an ongoing field often hampered by political agendas and deplorable propaganda necessities but weed isn't that bad for most people and

The Alaskan Ice and Himalayan Gold are good for creativity, as the sativa is quite dominant in these strains. The Diamonds (indica dominant) contains medical grade THCV, and tastes like raspberries smothered in wild honey - :) whereas the Kings Kush, well, OG Kush is tasty, sweet kush, lemon pinesol smell and taste - a killer Californian indica WAS crossed with Grape Ape (indica)

the nastiest side effect i've had from weed is a head ache - i put it down to greedy growers not taking the time out to flush their crop... its a common story in the UK. Other side effects could be sleep, hunger and general wellbeing...

Well, when I say "side effect", I just mean feeling like staying at home smoking more, instead of going out. That sort of thing . XD

He met us at the airport, and was like "Where the Fukk did you lot go?" - we responded in kind, feigning worry, and annoyance and saying something like "we just wasted a day looking for you, you mug! we thought something happened to you man, glad you're ok, idiot." ...

To me it's a very interesting subject - I certainly don't see anything morally wrong with it, despite the legalities.

So, I know it's illegal in most countries, but most towns and presumably cities have a pretty strong weed culture, so it's not exactly a secret that people do it, just which individuals.

Funny thing, some of you may know this already but I'll say it anyway. The word Hashish, used to describe the resinous blocks of cannabis (which are consumed/burned/schmoked) is actually derived from the middle eastern word "Hashashin".

The following is taken from wiki:

Now, I find this hard to believe really... I mean think about it! I remember reading about that before when I was looking up about the real history behind Assassin's Creed. It's pretty interesting. I would much rather have learned about that era of history in school than learning about the Tudors etc., and then all about the World Wars in secondary school, as important as it may be.

I don't know what's being taught in schools now, but I feel they should be teaching people a bit about the Arab world and it's history. It's so interesting and it would probably help make people more tolerant, or, at the very least, less ignorant.

Maybe not, but at least those that are willing would be given the opportunity at an early stage. Also, shaping people's opinions early enough can potentially negate the need to change them later on. I was taught nothing of Islam or the Arab world when I was young. I do think that it would be beneficial if kids were taught more about the history of other parts of the world and the cultures of other people. The first time I learned anything about Islam was 9/11 (crazy to think that really, considering I would have already been 16 at the time). Before that, I was completely ignorant, which may not be entirely unrelated to the fact that I attended Catholic school from the age of 4 til 18. Although the event did, no-doubt, propel Islam into the consciousness of many many people. As a child I wasn't inclined to go and learn about other religions in my spare time. I was far more interested in playing games and such, as would be expected. But, if someone had presented me with this completely different world to my own, I would have had an immediate reason to take an interest. It won't be the same for everyone. It may indeed be the case that most of those who are intolerant later in life would be just as unlikely to care, or to take the knowledge with them in later life. But I think there's a chance it would have a positive impact on some, and surely a more positive impact than leaning about the kind of decor they would have had in Victorian houses in history lessons.

It's a bit different now though, even for someone like me, whose school years aren't actually that far behind. The internet opens up the world so much. Anyone can learn about almost anything they like very easily.

This is a bit off-topic, but is related. The same kind of thing goes for drugs. A person's view of another religion, nationality, or group of people in general, can be entirely shaped by one negative event, if they are not sufficiently educated. Just like people's perception of a particular drug, whether medicinal or recreational, can be shaped by the negative things they hear about it, as they will often simply have more impact. Ignorance surely doesn't help much at all. The same logic that leads children to be taught about drugs and sex at a young age can be applied to the differences between other people. It all comes under the general banner of increasing awareness and understanding.

In short, even if someone doesn't want to see the other side of the story, the more people that know it exists, the better. All in my opinion, of course. :)

Its all about awareness. I remember when 9/11 happened, and being a Muslim myself I was worried about the backlash. To my amazement, and despite the media flaming Islam as the religion of terror - I found that people in general were interested in Islam. The asked me questions and stuff. Was a bit weird, as when they first asked, I was a lil wary of their motives... were they trying to get me to admit something they'll take to offense? Are they baiting me? That kind of thing. But no, no such thing happened. Was pretty cool actually, Ideas and beliefs were discussed and as a result, tolerance and understanding increased amongst us. A real education is to be had by just talking with people from different parts of the world. Just a simple question like, "What is it like to live where you are from?" can open a whole new world in your mind... I love asking that question when I meet someone from a part of the world I know lil about...

But yeah, we need to increase awareness of the Arab world, the history is a rich and diverse one, swathed in wonderful stories remeniscent of the Arabian Nights lol - well some actually are... and hey, it beats learning about Victorian decor :D

Im 25... ive been to college, im in full time employment ,im very happy i have life goals. i have a healthy relationship with my family and have good friends. Im in a long term relationship with a nurse, i like to run for charity. i play ps3 when i can . I dont drink alot . i smoke weed and sometimes have the odd cigarette.

My point is everyone is different but some people choose to take their habits to excesive extremes
too much food can lead to obesity
too much alcohol can lead to alcoholism and often breeds violence and disorder
smoking weed doesnt instantly make u an idiot or a bad person. smoking cannabis in excess can lead to scizophrenia and paranoia.
It is well known cannabis in contolled doses is used in medication and is actually good for u As is Sugar, salt. Chocolate.... The trick is to know your limits and always have boundarys

it sounds odd but i lernt to juggle becaucse i can use nunjucks. it started with lerning poi so i can use x2 nunjucks at the same time and when my mate told me that the standerd poi trick (3 beat weave) is the same hand motion of the juggling trick mils mesh it inspierd me to learn to juggle.

I suggest using a bong and sinking it in 1, pipes look cool but people usually get bored of them after a few days because these new ones are hard to clean and you get a mouthfull of brown sticky resin lol, i used to prefer bongs because its an instant hit and with training you can do it in 1. i used to deal so i always had plenty. if you do get a pipe get one that you can take apart so its easy to clean! the brown oils are good to smoke when you run out but they dont taste too good lol. i started tokin wen i was 13 and stopped at 24. i am now t total, women are my buzz now.8)

I've been playing since the first WipEout and I do enjoy getting stoned sometimes before playing, but I much prefer stimulants and sometimes a mild sedative when racing. Also known as the Sniper's cocktail, I'll take a few of my Rx Methylphenidate (Ritalin), make some Tea, and occasionally have a Clonazepam (Klonopin) before racing. The Methylphenidate really gives me a noticeable edge and sharpness to handling and the Clonazepam counteracts some physical stimulation so your hands are calm and smooth racing yet focused and best even Methylphenidate isn't neuron-toxic unlike amphetamines. Speed Kills; I so want that shirt.

Cannabis legal to grow and be a club member here usually slows my reaction time though, even though it's great medicine. For WipEout really what's great are some nice stimulants to sharpen you up, anything else dulls my reaction times. Tripping and playing WipEout is just weird and confusing lol. But with music tracks like "Under the Influence" and "Dopamine" this game was made for those whom like it fast!

For all those whom think cannabis damages the brain sorry to say you've been doped by media marketing and a lack of market in selling cannabis as medicine hence it's illegal. But the US itself has had a patent on THC the main active compound in Cannabis since the 1980s stating that it protects Nerve Cells and is a Anti-oxidant; funny that was never mentioned under the rug for years :P

I think weed aka marijuana is a good drug for medical use only if it is written by a medical professional if a person is very sick or they have chronic pain. Some of the states in the United States have legalized it for medical use only, but they are other people think that marijuana is a deadly drug that think the drug most be illegal because of the counter culture of the 1960's and cause neurological damage later in life. To me its a choice to use it for medical use or to get high and get stoned.

In my opinion I think weed is just overhyped, both in the "oh dude you MUST smoke weed, everybody does it, etc" way and in the "My friend injected 3 marijuanas and he's dead because he got hit by a truck. This is all marijuana's fault" way. Just like tobacco and cigarettes were in the early to mid 20th century.

Yes I know, it just didn't sound right in the sentence. And I was joking with the whole "injecting marihuanas" (kinda of evident when the cause of death was being hit by a truck). I think sarcasm doesn't work very well in written.
What I was saying is that cannabis/marihuana/weed/whatever seems overrated as in it's either a MUST or a huge DON'T, when it's just a banal recreative/medical substance, like orange juice.

Im not overly bothered by it. Each to their own etc. I do smoke it on a rare occasion, but Im much more one for making Space Cakes lol. As I said, its a rarity, like once every 3 - 4 months. I wont condemn but Im not gonna be all "ERMAHGERD YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!!!" Im not going to debate the medicinal properties because I really dont know enough about it, apart from that its doing some good and there are benefits to it. Its peoples personal choice at the end of the day.

I've actually still kept my original PSP1000 I think is the version, the very first made with the switch release UMD slot in great condition. Has a digital copy of Pure, Pulse, and wipEout 1995. Also have them in UMD but no point really in playing them best keep them in cased and in good condition. Weird collection I've got going of wipEout stuff. Anyways also my PSVita has digital copies of wipEout 95, Pulse, and of course 2048.

I've tested and raced with a mate using PSP and Vita running the same license of Pulse and race ad-hoc, probably because they are unlocked licenses for every device. So we could play that, you can try 2048, or Pure if you haven't. Of course we can't versus wipEout 95 but could always do time trials against one another. Maybe this is too nerdy haha, but I have hard cases and easily bring both.

And also in response to the thread itself. I smoke weed about every other time I play wipeout. It just relaxes me so much and I forget about all my stress and problems. Smoking and then playing detonator is so amazing, I just recline back listen to the music and go nuts!! It's the only thing that truly relaxes me. Also I've noticed my reaction time and focus is much better, I'm much more precise and don't hesitate or make as many mistakes due to over thinking.
