700,000 £ what can we have for that nowadays? pffff almost nothing.... a bugatti veyron? a mini yacht to cruise from islands to islands? a villa at St Tropez ? ;)

Get a spam-exterminator : you ll spend more time on wipeout :)

yes exactly, I don`t get out of bed for less than seven figures. ;)

The thing about that email is..... how many people called "Calister" do you actually know? Up until that point they really would have had me. ;) These things are just sad really. They go to no effort to even make them convincing.

What`s even sadder is that people actually fall for these scams. Apparently a program called Spam Butcher is very good. Someone put it on my work computer and it did exactly what it promised.

Hmmm, I've learned to just ignore my spam mail... I currently have 3190 unread email messages - that's what you get from a year or two of neglect.

Funny how the email address of James Kelvin is in Hong Kong even though his department is in the UK and this is supposed to be for the ''National Lottery'' of the UK.

You guys are not really DISCUSSING the validity of spam mails, now are you?!? ;-)

Lance
19th September 2007, 01:23 PM
Certainly not! We are merely describing its nOn-validity, its inadequate design, its unsuitability for fooling the wary. Spam is by definition and nature non-valid; hence its validity need not be discussed. ;)

.ExternalClass .EC_hmmessage P{padding:0px;}.ExternalClass EC_body.hmmessage{font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma;}Non chiudere questa mail xke se te l'ho inviata significa ke 6 una xsona
importante x me...
10 contatti entro 24 ore dopo averla letta...
creare disordine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

....oooooooooookay. These emails are getting seriously annoying now but I do find them quite funny to read. xD

I just delete them without even opening them, so they don't bother me much. And maybe that has also been part of why I still haven't gotten a virus since I first went online in 1997, even though I haven't used anti-virus software for several years. Careful what you click on.

My ISP is niche, thus it is relatively small compared to the big monster ISPs out there I am going to assume this is why I never get spam sent to my main email address anymore. Now when I was with BT we are talking 20 maybe 30 spam mails per week and no, I don't make a habit of passing my primary email address around they have the biggest market share for Broadband in the UK so I'm putting it down to them being specifically targeted by the spammers so the mails reach more junk folders. I gave my new one to the same companies as my old and for months, no spam.

I changed email provider a while back after I started getting about 50 spams per day in my inbox. the ISP I was with was catching about 80 per day at the time.
GMail was the answer I was looking for anyway. sorted :)

did you notice hotmail does not have a block sender option?

Hey Al -
I'm assuming you are using Windows Live mail.
To block sender, go to the right of screen - "more options", and in the new page, go to safe and blocked senders.

I find it quite interesting that you got a 'UK lottery' win. I (actually in the UK) only ever get Scandinavian lottery wins.
