Good find! Awesome to see the game in motion. And yeah, the driver sucks, but it's still good to see the gameplay :)

Definitely boosts my interest in the PS3, this does.

Yes good find! This vid doesn't impress me much for the moment, nothing really awesome, we're talking PS3, remember. But this game is not finished yet right? So I'm sure it's gonna change in a good way.

EDITING---

OK, I speaked too fast, actually I find this video on Chengou Project really much more realistic, even if the vid is in poor quality.

Go Chenghou! Nice vids, Benjahman! :hyper WipEout HD is looking great indeed. Thank goodness I've had a PS3 since Christmas! ;) Some very cool titles are coming out on that system.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=170659

These are some HD screenies. Looking beautiful, as usual. ;) I really like the Triakis craft. It looks very cool.

Looky! Gamespot goes hands-on with HD. A nice vid of Chenghou Project (with a halfway decent pilot, no less. ;))
The only problem I have in the article is one misspelled name: ANALUPHA PASS! Seriously GameSpot, WTF?

Nice find angryman.

I dunno what I think about the new airbrake sound. Do I like it, or is it obnoxious :S

i dont like the idea of using SIXAXIS, they should let us choose between d-pad, analogue and SIXAXIS, i think SIXAXIS could be used to aim non-lock weapons.

Dr. Angryman
23rd August 2007, 11:00 AM
I think SIXAXIS control will be optional.... But that's just me. :?

supersocks
23rd August 2007, 01:44 PM
Can't think how they would manage to implement SIXAXIS without turning aides or such. At least not for Phantom.

I really like the Triakis craft. It looks very cool.

Heh. Funny how opinions can differ. I think the new military pattern for Triakis is the most boring and ugliest skin design for a wipEout craft in some time. No offend, just opinion. And you know how opinions are like a***oles :)

Or maybe I just dislike the colors. Would actually prefer it with "desert" colors to be honest.

'desert colours', be like the storm trooper of the AG racing league!

can't believe the playable demo still has floating speedpads (http://medialib.computerandvideogames.com/screens/screenshot_184445.jpg).
Other than that: can't wait to play the game at the end of the year. Looks fabulous!

I was just getting used to the grey look myself, that's probably why I can't stand the move to a greener-looking craft.

It does look like a super high-res version of Pure and Pulse tracks, using all Pulse ships. I can't wait. This is more than just a mere PSN "semi-game..."

I just read the gamespot article-- didn't see anything about sixaxis controls. What do we know about sixaxis for Wipeout HD? I'm kinda hoping for a more traditional control scheme as well.

PS3 games are not required to have the signature tilting controls of SIXAXIS, keep that in mind.

Mark Of Insanity
24th August 2007, 10:32 PM
Uh the only thing I have to contribute to this topic (because I may never buy a PS3 because they're so damned expensive, at least until PS3 Wipeout comes out), is that I hate the idea of the SIXAXIS tilt tbh.

Urgh, so inprecise! The thought of it makes me cry for my Neggie, D-Pad, even Analog Sticks! (Another reason I'm not a massive fan of nub and analogs is their slight lack of precision, by that I mean to say that it's harder to get an exact turn of an exact angle [if that makes sense], even if the D-Pad is blunt in control by comparison)

mclarensmps
25th August 2007, 12:26 AM
You'd actually be surprised as to how precise the SIXAXIS can be, unlike the wiimote...

You need to get used to it, and it takes a few hours of playing to get used to it, but once you are, it's pretty straightforward, and really really good to use.

The only gripe i have with this controller is, since it's bluetooth, sometimes it loses it's connection for a few seconds, and then comes back. Both me and my friend have had this happen with our PS3's, happens once or twice every few days.

It now tells you how much damage a weapon inflicts, how much shield energy you can gain by absorbing a certain weapon, and the direction of incoming fire...wow, thanks Max, that video is just amazing - however, that first-lap launch into the billboards wasn't XD

Asayyeah
26th August 2007, 12:57 PM
Video rocks for sure, incredible details and fantastic sceneries but i am not a fan of all those new infos on your screen like the one you can guess where is the ship behind you. Rear view anyone? i only hope we can unselected those

Dr. Angryman

I'd just ignore it, like the weird square-ish arrow in Wip3out.

If all goes well, I'll get some video footage these days from two friends of mine. They were in Leipzig and will get home again this night. One 20 min vid of WO:HD and another 10 min vid of Pulse.
We'll see :)

Dr. Angryman
27th August 2007, 01:58 AM

Possible source of more Wipeout HD vids and images-- fan thread on Neogaf. Some of it is old, some of it looks new (or at least, new to me).

This video is dated from a while back but I haven't seen it yet-- apologies if already posted:

Now to find out how I'll ever have this game.

Dr. Angryman

Yeah, it'd be nice if they did put classic circuits in HD, but hey, what are you going to do?.... Besides take over SL and decide otherwise! :bomb

Mark Of Insanity

Sounds like a plan!

Rapier Racer
2nd September 2007, 08:26 PM
Let the classic tracks rest! They don't work well without the classic physics as said in the past, most of Pures classic tracks are nothing but who can do the most barrel roll contests. To many pilots are too attached to the past.

infoxicated
3rd September 2007, 08:53 AM
That's because some of those tracks are fantastic and it sucks that they get left in the mists of time.

Compare the likes of Manortop or Aridos to some monstrosity like Citta Nuova and that's the reason I'd want classic tracks realised in HD over some of those that have appeared more recently.

BaldyCurly
3rd September 2007, 09:24 AM
more tracks = more wipeout fun surely?

Get this game out and add more tracks as extra downloadable content, I will be happy. Warhark is a very good online game for the PS3 but I need racing!

Fusion crashs too much to play and PS1 games just don't cut it on my plazma, come Sony, give me HD, I need it!!!!

Dr. Angryman
3rd September 2007, 02:57 PM
I read on one article that Sebenco Peak will be in HD. I'm no sure about you, but that was my favorite track in the Gamma Pack, besides Ubermall (come on, it's a race inside a huge mall. What more can you possibly want?).

eLhabib
3rd September 2007, 04:36 PM
I would give an arm to race ubermall in HD. on second thought, a leg would be better, need the arm for the racing...

Rapier Racer
3rd September 2007, 05:37 PM
I suppose when you put it like that! Citta vs Megamall for example hmmm. I'm just sour cos they didn't put Gare d'Europa in Pulse, then there was the tron style thing..

Oh and Foxy..... tell me Citta Nuova is not part of Wipeout HD, please lol

Hah!

No, not at all - Clarko's opus has been consigned to the grea recycle bin in the sky. On a clear day you can see that recycle bin in the sky from Sol 2 - especially in HD. ;)

What makes you think that way? :p

Yes, I`m really glad to play on that HD track again near future but I will need to find that recycle bin on my psp!! :paperbag

Thank you whoever make that Sol2 back again.
