Is it possible to install music to the Memory Stick and then use it during WipeOut: Pure play? I'm just curious...

This is an amazing find (if it works!) has anyone tried it yet?

It's worked for someone, at least. You need the Wipeout Pure ISO to run off the memory stick though.

Can it not be applied to the Classic #2 pack?

It's possible, theoretically, but no one's cracked that encryption yet, I guess. If they managed to do that, I imagine there'd be nothing stopping us from making our own custom music packs and having the game read them fine.

*bump*
Just want to add that it is possible to play custom mp3s from your memory stick in wipeout pure without hacking the game or using an external mp3-player! If you're still on firmware v1.5 you can use iR Shell:

I've tested it and it works perfect: create a playlist and start the wipeout UMD via iR Shell, even your remote control works. So, after setting the music volume in wipeout to zero, I've got the ingame sound + my favourite music tracks. iR Shell can also set the CPU to 333mhz, which makes wipeout run a lot "smoother" and you can even make some screenshots.

what about the offical music mixer? has anybody tried it yet? If it works we may find a way to remix other tracks than the ones on the website or at least know how music-only packs look like

ExO : wellcome to the site . :)
I rather prefer to wait that they unlock officialy the 333 mghz upgrade, i ve got my 2.0 firmware and it's enough for what i am doing now.
It has already been discussed over here , but i turn the music off, get my headphone with the sound effect on , listening my best of trance/techno by my 5.1 pc. I must add that i mostly play at home. Your system is cool for people who travel much than i do .
Maxx : i am not 100% sure but the music mixer is based on existing tracks( + those that can be added by wipeoutpure.com ) unfortunately we cannie add our favs one :(
