alright, so I discovered something strange...anyone know what a datablast is? in the statistics menu, under other, I see:

Time Spent in the Air:
# of photos taken:
# of custom ships downloaded:
# of datablasts downloaded:
# of mp3 music files present:
total music tracks listened to:
total custom grid events created/played:
time spent looking at stats:
last played Wipeout Pulse:
Barrel Rolls:
Side Shifts:

any info? I haven't heard this feature discussed at all...
