think of a future version of F1GP/IndyCarSeries...
worldclass racing, where races consists of up to 78laps(F1) or 200laps(Indy).
the great thing about wipEout HD/FURY is, it offers possibilities to play its game modes in "different" ways

i have this idea in my mind for a long time now...


Q: how to get multiplayer races with more than 20laps each?
A: eliminator mode without firing weapons, just absorbing is allowed! this way every player will get 5points/lap.

i've added a few examples of possible races below:

- syncopia fwd - 600 - 120laps - 166maxBR/race - 1,38BR/lap - 10HP/sur+ - 38min racetime - 21,0sec laptime
- vineta k fwd - 540 - 108laps - 150maxBR/race - 1,39BR/lap - 10HP/sur+ - 36min20sec racetime - 20,2sec laptime
- übermall rev - 480 - 96laps - 134maxBR/race - 1,40BR/lap - 10HP/sur+ - 34min05sec racetime - 21,3sec laptime
- anulpha p rev - 420 - 84laps - 118maxBR/race - 1,41BR/lap - 10HP/sur+ - 31min20sec racetime - 22,4sec laptime
- sebenco c fwd - 360 - 72laps - 102maxBR/race - 1,42BR/lap - 10HP/sur+ - 27min50sec racetime - 23,2sec laptime

the rules:

- the FX350GPSeries consists of 6 main GP, plus 1 final GP held @ syncopia;
- every 2 months 1 GP will be driven;
- every main FX350GP consists of two events!

1. one SPEED LAP event to qualify for the actual GP (best8/16/24/32/...players).
- the podium positions will score additional bonus points!
- if one or more of the first eight qualified drivers cannot taking part in the race,
the ninth/tenth/eleventh etc. drivers will take their slot.

2. one ELIMINATOR event which will consist of 40-120laps.
- it's FORBIDDEN to activate weapons, but it's NOT FORBIDDEN to absorb weapons (shielding).
- the first driver to get to the target score wins the race...
- every completed lap will get the driver 5 points (target200=40laps;target600=120laps),
BUT every respawn/death AFTER lap 1 will cost the driver 5 points, that means the driver
has to complete an additional lap!
- every completed lap will get the driver +20HP(1.33BRs), so it's smart to cross the start/finish line
with a max of 80HP!
- max 6BRs/lap is doable, but that'll cost the driver 90HP!
- the very moment the first driver completing 10% race distance,
it's NOT possible anymore to restart the race!
EVERY driver disconnecting afterwards for whatever reason will score ZERO points (DNF)!

- the final 7th GP is an invite only event, where the best 8 drivers from the actual season will fight out the champion.

this is really just an idea as of now, but if we can find 8+ players who're interested, it could become a really BIG event.
any suggestions or ideas to expand and/or better this are very welcome.

Awesome idea, i never thought about that we can use eliminator mode for super endurance racing! I will take part of this for sure : )

But how we will know who is 2nd 3rd 4th etc...
If 1st pilot will cross the finish line, it will be end of the race and it will look probably like this:
1st - 600
2nd - 555
3rd - 555
4th - 555
5th - 555
6th - 555
7th - 555
8th - 555

yep, as soon as the first player crosses the finishline the game will automatically end. the good thing about eliminator mode is, that it counts the laps too...so if 2 or more players have the same score @ the end, the 1 with the higher lap count will place higher! if that's equal too, the 1 player who's nearer to complete his lap will place higher.

today i've done a 40lap race vs kleido, and i've to say that was the most intense race i've ever made throughout my years of playing wipeout hd
he won, i came close behind (final score:200-195). the whole race was like a game of chess when is the right moment to attack with a barrelroll offensive, when is the right time to calm down and let your energy replenish? this was absolutely awesome! i can't wait to race a full GP with 120 laps distance
