Default This might be a silly question...

But is there a way to choose what track you want to play, along with what speed, and against the AI?

I know there's a time attack mode, but what if you wanted the option to play against opponents, or have a specialised game i.e. battles? In otherwords, a single race mode? I can't see how you can do so in this game? I'm referring to offline, of course.

There isn't. The only single race options you have are from the campaign grid

Gosh, darn it! what smart Alec thought the campaign grid was a good idea?

Am I right in saying that the Wipeout Fury DLC pack allows you to though?

Allow me to explain, while the core game campaign is quite restrictive, it sortof enforces the way for the player to eventually be better, while the multiplayer campaign is intended for even the most lousiest of players to get a high rank, it does have the issue with the random chance of events.

getting the DLC campaigns well, compared to the base campaign, there is a lot more freedom. while it has all the events from their respective campaigns, there is no need to unlock anything, just to play and see if you can get Gold Medals on the events, even with selectible difficulty! Even getting the DLC, if you get them, then if you ever get a PS3, then you can get the PS3 game FOR FREE!, adding to that, with the DLC installed, you can freely acess the PS3 game's multiplayer. the only disadvantage with the DLC is well... the framerate between the PS3 game and the Vita's version of the same game is a little off, but not by much.

What I don't get is why they didn't have a separate section to collect tracks and add them up to play however you like. I mean, they've got a time trial area at the bottom left. Was it really hard to add an option that added AI and weapons? Frustrating. It's this reason I tend to play Pure and the original on my Vita instead.

there was alot of discussion and many very angry players about this ( a year ago). They were working on fixes to allow these things, but time ran out when they got shut down, so we will never know what they were going to add. The only fix now is is if someone wins a huge lottery, buys the game from Sony, pays a programmer to add these features. So as you can see we have about a 1/100,000,000 chance of playing this game with time trials and race choices.

Yeah, to be clear, WipEout 2048 allows you to :
    - play speed laps
    - play the A+ challenges (but beware the awful framerate)

So if you're not a lot into speed laps, its obviously the worst WipEout ever...

I am into Speed Laps, and 2048 is still my least favourite WipEout by far.

The problem outlined in this thread is just one of a huge number of core problems I find with the game. I'm still not over my disappointment.
