Still hard to see how these skills would help in real life, it just seems to say that playing videogames makes you better at playing videogames. But anyway, play more games... its good for you.

I *know* gaming is good for us! Why the need to prove it! :

Don't try to prove the existence of God for a crowd of christian fundies. They'll suspect you of doubts and insincerity while you explain what they believed all along .

But seriously, I did read somewhere that gaming is good for your overall intelligence, as intelligence is defined by some as an ability to solve problems both concrete and abstract, real and hypothetical. It should also improve things like reacting time and eye-hand-coordination. As far as that isn't already mentioned in the link you gave us, of course (yup, I'm mister lazy ass tonight... too lazy to click a mouse... I am a few steps away of becoming very unproductive for the coming hours .
