Compleatly different thing Amaroq. The panels just reversed the gravity around the ship.

Edit: Mirarge did most likely invent the mag-lock system since they've been around since 2048. Don't believe me? Have a look at the FEISAR Speed ship, you will see the MAGEC logo on the sides.

I don't think that there were Mag-Strip sections in the F9000, maybe the ag generator got manipulated (decreasing the ag effect for some secounds) or the ships are just very heavy.
