I couldn't find something similar on the forums so I went ahead and decided to do one myself.
Basically, I'm just listing a date and a time we can put together an organised online game of Wipeout HD Fury. Sound fun?
I was thinking that we have something happen, say a small tournament or something, every Sat. It doesn't matter what country you come from, anyone can join, but the AUS is there in the topic title because it's hosted in Australia. The times listed are also aussie ones (GMT +9:30). So any aussie players, come out and say hi

Status: Not Running. This weekend is a bye. Try the Tuesday Bling Brigade instead!
    Upcoming event times:
    -

Remember to use the Avalon Lounge chat room to talk during the games!

A time zone converter is available <out of date>. Just search for your town or city and find out your local time!

    Hope to see you there!

Had moderate success tonight; We had a full 8 players at the start of the tournament, but Sony were useless as usual and after connection drops, race freezes, lobby freezes, scoreboard inconsistencies and other generally stupid bugs we were down two only two players, neither of whom were me. ._.
At any rate, it was good to catch up with Liod19 and Rennfisch whom I hadn't seen in a while. Had fun racing, thanks guys

We'll be doing this again this saturday, starting at 7:00 this time. We'll put on a rapier tournament if we get a good number of people, and flash/rapier friendly events for the rest of it.

What time is it universally? I'd like to join but I have some stuff going on saturday evening.
Maybe you can create a new event here so everybody can check the time for thei individual time zone.

My time zone is GM +9:30, I have put it in the first post.
The time zone converter event has been created here (edit: url redacted, out of date).
Edit: Also keg, those times in the OP are for the first one, and I forgot to edit the post to change them afterwards (Whoops). The upcoming one is starting half an hour later. I'm changing them now to be correct.

I like your event time announcer. Much easier (for those who need it) than doing the math.

So that's 9.30 UK time tomorrow. Good stuff, I'll be there. Do these events have a specific chatroom or are you using one of the usual WOZone ones (avalon lounge, ozone room...)?

I hadn't really thought about using a chatroom; I'm not sure what Avalon Lounge and Ozone Room are, could you enlighten me?
Dunno how such a thing would work in the PS3 itself but I should be able to get an IRC channel up. Edit: IRC channel is now up at #WipeoutAusWeekly on naos.foonetic.com (irc.foonetic.com if that doesn't work)

They're both text-chat rooms that are used pretty regularly by members here. It makes it a lot easier (and more rewarding IMO) to have a chat room open for this sort of thing. It might be worth starting one for these events, then you can invite your friends when they join the lobby.

Isn't it possible just to use one of the existing chat rooms? Might be my own stupidity, but I don't even know what an IRC channel is, lol. I can invite you later, if it isn't already done by then, dread.
Btw I'll be there for the event, too. Guess you figured it already And nice to see that you're also in for it, Col.

Yup, it's tomorrow, doc. In this event planner the day is wrong, but time is right.
