Default De/Ascend - A Wipeout inspired game i've been working on

    Hey everyone!
Last 3 months I have been working on my graduation project for Game Art and since it's heavily Wipeout inspired I thought I'd stop by here again.
I was supposed to do some work on Slipstream GX but got caught up in work for a year and now this, so my apologies for that.

Anyway, off to the project I've been working on lately, it's going to be a demo of a racing game, with 1 car, 1 track and a time attack mode.
Though there will be added ''replay value'' with the car being avaiable in 4 liveries (with each handling a bit differently) and the track being playable from point A to B and vice versa, you can also choose to drive at day or night.
Gameplay wise this is heavily inspired by the Trackmania series with the time attack mode, the point is to get from A to B as fast as possible, the current time will be displayed and you will see if you are driving faster or slower (and by how much) at each checkpoint. The game will feature an offline leaderboard as well to keep track of the fastest times.
The visuals and styles are very much inspired by the Wipeout series, with a modern look and bright colours. The vehicle leans that way as well apart from having wheels.
It's built in Unity 4 and will be put online for free in a bit more then a month.

Here are 2 teaser screenshots, but expect some more and maybe some video in the coming weeks

That looks awesome, I'm getting some Tron/Trackmania vibes from the images, nice work!

EDIT: Looks I was right, I re-read the first post and saw that it is based on Trackmania, whoopsie!

That looks fantastic, I can't wait to play it! Wipeout and trackmania - combined? I am SO there.
You mentioned you had a weird mapping bug that got fixed. Could I know how you fixed it? :O Thanks!

Really glad you are all liking it guys! I do like to note that the track will be very short (only about 30 seconds to complete) this due to time constraints with building the enviroment etc

Glad you like the combo haha, yes (you're on the Unity forums too? ), I fixed that by adding another edge loop in the middle of the track.

Firstly, the game looks amazing. It's really gorgeous, I love everything about the aesthetic you have going on
The car's fun to drive and it's great trying to ace the same track over and over again. Fantastic stuff

Too bad I couldn't experience the game at its full potential due to my sucky laptop, but I liked what I saw. Please continue developing it further if you can!

This is great despite being small in scope. Even if you don't choose to expand this particular project, I'm excited to see your future work!

Yeah. Definitely good job guys! Congratulations.

Are you planning to add some mod support which will allow to make AG-crafts so we will all have Wipeout-like sandbox to experiment with? I know that project has different purpose but it's only an idea
