    Default Orcus White speed lap

Hi, I'm new to the forum, even if this place seems pretty much dead.
I also noticed that online is gone, such a shame, right when I became hooked with this game.

I think I'l bore the hell out of everyone but anyway, was just messing with speed lap in racebox at orcus white.Really love this track, surge of speed, lot's of BR's to make you dizzy. My best so far is a 17.90 seconds perfect lap with feisar.Searched online and found out someone even managed a 16.69 seconds lap, almost 1 and a half seconds better than mine and really don't know were I could cut more time.Of course now that online is dead there's no way to tell but anyway, here is my battle plan:
-do a lap just to get used to the track and right before the next lap I hit the turbo so that I have practically 2 turbo charges for that lap
-BR right at the next turn
-hit the speed pad just after the ramp, go in the air, BR, hit the ground,BR again
-now I'm flying and instead of pulling the ship down to do more BR's, I press the turbo charge I have and it takes me flying past those ramps
-after that it's just praying to God I don't bump in any walls.
    Any suggestions to improve?

Hi and welcome to the board.

Where did you see the 16.69 from? Through WipeoutZone`s records?

    Don`t thinks so.

    Did you look up YouTube?

    Mrsmartalex might help you.

Here is the link for you to see http://www.wipeoutzone.com/records.php?game_id=13&mode_id=2&x=29&y=42&track_i d=96&filter=all&type_id=1&limit=5&action=display_r ecords&sub_action=

@Leungbok: It would be nice if you are not only posting your vid, but also give Ryuk details under which circumstances you made this Speedlap and Time Trial. I think Ryuk is looking for an honest competition under the same conditions. Then only times are compairable!!

    Best regards Mad-Ice

Manual pitch, custom firmware with cpu at 333 (no speed gain but smoothier framerate) !
Showing all the BRs and methods i use in hundred videos is something which makes the competition honest, i believe !!
hmmmm... but in fact it would be honest if everyone involved in the competition shows their methods ! But it don't matter that much as i'm not involved in any wipeout competition anymore and only film stuffs for fun... untill 2048 off course !

I'm running the game at 333Hz also and it does improve the framerate.
On a side note, this game was never meant to be played from the UMD were it has terrible load times.Got Pulse on my memory stick now and the load times are instant.

    Damn you, Leungbok!
I just played some Orcus White after watching your video, but I couldn't beat your time, and got a 16.46 . I'll try again soon.

    Welcome to the forum, Ryuk.

I tried again today. 16.46 again!

Kaori, are you pitching the nose down for most of the lap? If you do that and use the same line as in Leungbok's video, you should be able to get under 17.00 (you're certainly skilled enough at Pulse to do it).

    16.31, using Harimau.
I did 4 BRs (same as in Leungbok's video, except I land slightly before the drop and do another BR), pitching the nose down most of the time, and a perfect lap, but I missed the last speed pad, so there's still some left in it.

edit: 16.21 in EG-X, and now I've had enough of this track. Far too much "!!!!?!?!?!?!?" for me.

well it's seems I can't go past 17.43 with Icarus if I don't pitch the nose down.
Was wondering how can you guys do it especially right before a jump when it's the most important.I'm using the d-pad and every time I try to pitch the nose down I just hit the wall.Played like 60 hours of this game and now I find that I have to learn a new set of reflexes?

Pitching the nose down is necessary to get the fastest times, as it increases the top speed a little (except on magstrips). It is a bit awkward to do it all the time, so just do it on straights and any corners you can manage for now. You'll get used to it with a little practice.
