    Default internal view

I must admit, I don't use internal view in Wipeout much. Internal view is good for games such as Gran Turismo, where they really make an effort to let you know you just hit something.

Wipeout. however, I feel requires a cognizance of not just your own ship, but how others may be viewing it. Using an external view allows for such extrapolation, albeit a "poor man's extrapolation".

It also lets you calculate and re-calculate your ship's position in lieu of any attacking objects (missiles, rockets, plasma, etc).

I find that the internal view cuts off to much of your vision to really feel immersive, you dont have a 100 degree visionlike you would in real life. plus your vision gets way more bouncey than you would percieve it in real life. I used internal in wo3 though due to the fact that they had cockpit view there which made it feel a lot more real to me... even if the cockpit view made the game a lot harder.

Ya know, there's a thread about this

    Welcome to the zone xzal

P.S. You wouldn't have 100 degree in real life either. You'd be cut off by the cockpit window or computer screen view.

no but you'd have more than you have in internal view.

I HD, while is cockpit view, you can have a craft come up beside you and you can see the opposing pilot in their cockpit with their controls blinking away.
Which looks very realistic when playing through a projector.

Not when you play on a 19" curved screen CRT.

You should be able to access it now. The Pilot's Lounge requires 5 posts to view, and the thread Greeny linked to was moved there.
