Problems with saving

I wanted to see if the Wipeout of the PS Store feels different from the Original, so I bought it. Playing it now and wanted to save my data. But everytime an error occurs. On the screen where you can save it says: No memory card present, but beneath it "CARD 1" can be chosen nevertheless. I click on it, choose a name for my file, press save and: Error.
Something I don´t get?

Did you create an internal memory card on the PS3 first. & if you did, did you asign it a memory card slot? Total pain in the @$$ that is, ploughing halfway through a game then realising you havnt done it lol

If you did those then maybe just delete an re-download, (can only do that 3 times free of charge though)

Since this was the first game in downloaded for the PS3, I indeed didn´t know about creating an internal memory card. Thank you very much for your reply.
