    Default Wipeout ship copyright

I've been thinking about making some detailed replicas of the ships (probably
the Fury versions, not sure on scale maybe 2 or 3 foot long) and as far as I'm
aware it would be ok to make one for myself, but say if I made a run of 20 and
wanted to sell them who would I need to pay? Sony? Does anyone here know
who owns the copyrights to the ship designs from wipeout HD and Fury or can point
    me in the right direction?

edit: Wipeout, the team names and all the logos will also be copyrighted so I'd have
to get a licence for everything.

Found this on the official SCEI website, so I'm assuming wipeout will be included
    in that.
Shame it's owned by sony because it'll be well beyond my means, if there
anything like disney I'd have to pay 13% to 18% of a yearly sales forcast
    upfront.

    Cool

Darn, this thread died before I got a chance to get excited about it! It was a great idea though, akirapill.

Yea it's a shame. I studied fine art specialising in sculpture at uni so I know
how to do it, I just havent got the capitol to pull something like this off. I'm
waiting for a reply from that link anyway just to see waht the deal is but it
    doesn't look good.

That should not prevent you from making one replica for your own, though.

I would be happy to see images of such a craft one time.
Exact scale models amaze me everytime

I'd like to make one just for myself but the problem is the cost to make all the molds get suplys etc. I'm going to look in the new year though see how much it would be.

Do you think you could figure out a way using a magnetic base to make it actually hover?

If you could pull that off, I would be very interested in financing a complete set of every team from HD.

I was actually thinking about a way to make it hover last night, my initial
thought was to have a base (speed pad) with all the electronics in for the
lights (just put the LEDs in the ship) have it held up with some transparent
plactic with a thin white wire to connect the LEDs the the base. But yea having
it hover would be best, N52 magnets are expencive though... but if your
gonna do it right and spend alot of money on it what the hell!!

Yes you would have to apply to Sony be able to use anything as all logos, design etc belongs to them now.
If I'm honest, although it'd be immensely cool to see the finished ship, they are highly unlikely to say yes unfortunately. :/
