im getting really bored with some of the people in this world cup.

was meant to be fun but obviously not to them.

the time wasting and stall tactics irritate me.
im a raptor i see many of these players online yet they tell me they are too busy to play even though they are playing when im speaking to them.

one guy is using the fact his list is full to avoid his meeting...wtf ..whats a list gotta do with it just start a game and type in your opponent you know is online waiting cos your raptor just told you.

like a world cup meeting takes 20-30 mins and they did actually sign up they were not forced.

if you go online as well since the world cup registration all i see players from the cup using fake psn id's trying out their track selections and rage quitting on a loss.
there are no longer any rooms full of familiar faces where you can socialise and have a laugh if they are they are very rare now or pre-organised.
people gotta remember this was intended to be fun.
now this is not aimed at everyone there are good intentioned players out there not doing the above and they should be used as an example to the party poopers who are not playing along.

sorry for the moan..just needed to get this off my chest...

and many thanks for the players who have made the effort to make this a happy fun event and the organisers who have spent many hours creating a fun event for us to enjoy.

It's kind of a busy time for everyone at the moment, so we shouldn't be too hard on everyone. I had to call my own race off last night at the last moment, Hamster was very understanding though. The difference between any regular on here and someone who is not a member is just a little bit of respect. They have no 'relationship' so to speak with anyone, so they won't be arsed either way if they get in touch quickly or not. I just think we should let the three weeks ride out and see were we stand then.

Kanar has done a great job getting things this far, so we should just keep asking politely for a response and not get too stressed, if they still haven't responded nearer the time then at least we tried.

your right kgb its is a really busy time for many.many players are having difficulties and have many commitments and little or no time to play wipeout.

but i was talking about the players who do have plenty of time cos they are on their ps3 all the time and are messing around and doing what i said above in my last post.

In the Avalon Cup I was getting a bit stressed with similar things, but as it turned out, I was sending messages to someone's brother. It was the brother online all the time and not my opponent. Maybe send a messages asking if that is the case for any of your people who aren't replying. It could easily be true.

But yes, overall this is always the problem. A lot of people are enthusiastic as long as they only have to say "I'll play", but they don't actually want to be involved in any of the planning. They literally just want to show up and play.

I think 2 messages should be enough. I mean, if your opponent reads one he reads 'm all If no reply, then it's a boring but easy pass to 2nd round.

Just as an "add on" to what Jasmin and KGB already said: All you participants can be sure of your Raptors taking care of you! I know it´s bloody frustrating not getting a reply from your opponent, but as long as you (yes, I´m pointing my finger at you, dear reader ) has done what what you were supposed to do (trying to get in contact with your opponent): Be sure the raptors will try to solve it for you and make the right decisions regarding advancement to the 2nd Round

exactly JJPAP & R3BU5ER, just report your issues to your respective cup manager or me, & we'll clean everything up for you. As we said, round 1 will be a bit weird for a few of us, but hopefully everything should run smoothly for the second round. First step will be Jan 2, we should get rid of the ghosts who never tried to get in touch wth their opponents.

    OH BTW!
AiiRWOLF and Medusa (and the rest of you participants!): Keep those vids coming!
I don´t know if it´s something I dreamt or an actual promise (LOL), but I´m "collecting" all the vids from the WOHDC ... Hopefully they´ll turn themselves into a nice dvd (for all of you), when it´s all over ... So the better the quality = Happy JJ

Lux and ID-R: you´re still in my mind regarding the split-screen vid of your Avalon Final, but time time time ... (soon to come, I hope!)

Hi everyone. I apologize for my absence, but I had problem with my PS3, YLOD caught my console. It happens in saturday, when I was played Dead Nation, undead difficult, almost end of level... and then.... freeeeeez, and blinking red light... I turned off. On, and I meet my worst enemy...

But today, I bought heat-gun, and blow this mo#@%rfu@#$r out from my PS3. Unfortunatly don't know how long it will works...

To the people with yellow lights on there Ps3's ,if you could not re-heat the boards you will save your self in the long run..

The boards actually need to be re-fluxed and then re-heated.

If you just re-heat them it will last a week or so maybe a month if you did a good job. but will fail again..

Get your Ps3 off to a good service agent (not Sony) and make sure you ask them if they re-flux the boards,, if not then go to one that does..

If you do it this way then your ps3 will work for years to come...

    Race report:

    Oryx_Crake vs Greenix

Race 1: Chenghou project, weapons off, phantom: Greenix
race 2: Sebenco climb, weapons off, phantom: Greenix
race 3: Sol2, weapons on, phantom: Greenix

Race 4: Metropia, Weapons off, phantom: Greenix
Race 5: Tech de ra, weapons on, phantom: Greenix
Race 6: Modesto heights reverse, weapons on, phantom: Greenix

Race 7: Anulpha pass, weapons on, rapier: Oryx_Crake

in hindsight I shouldn't have played on greenix's turf I should have made my choices rapier or flash, but I am happy to have lost to someone who kicked my butt with distinction rather than loosing to someone I could've beaten because of my messing up.

Thanks for indulging me for thiose last races greenix I needed the ego boost of winning at least one XD

Now best of luck to you I hope you take the cup!

    Happy flying ya'll

    Race report Krestel 1st round

    C4U tracks:
    1. Sol2, Phantom, 5, Weap off, br on => C4U won
    2. SC rev., Phantom, 5, Weap on, br on => C4U won
    3. Amphi rev, Rapier, 10, Weap on, br on => C4U won

    Tragedia tracks:
    4. Sol2, Rapier, 4**, Weap on, br on => C4U won
    5. SC, Rapier, 8, Weap off, br on => C4U won
    6. Moa rev., Flash, 7, Weap on, br on => Tragedia won

** Kami 'cheated' by selecting this race with 4 laps only. It'd have been 7 laps ... LOL. We decided to keep it this way

    Final standings: C4U won (5:1) against Tragedia3

Kami, thx for the fun races! And as I said: I am pretty impressed by your skills (compared to your online time). I was nervous before the 1st race and that got worse when you did very well within the 1st race on Sol2. And race 6 was in no way a xmas present! Good job!

btw, we decided to have a 4 race rapier tourney after the cup. That was fun, too.

It was a pleasure racing and meeting a pilot as friendly as you Oryx, I'm still in shock from your anulpha last second overtake! No doubt we'll bump into each other again soon for you to have your revenge

P.s. Thanks for the thrashing on the flash races afterwards!
