    Zero G

    Zero GTR

Bear in mind that many games are unreleased at the moment, and that this is only part of a much larger list (games like AeroGauge, Vapor TRX, and Ballistics reside in other sections). The "PC exclusive" section also covers Linux and Macintosh games.

Also, I wouldn't call these games "Wipeout clones" for two reasons: the first being that Wipeout only popularized a genre that had been around since 1988's Powerdrome for the Atari ST, and the second, that almost all games in this genre bear as much resemblance to Wipeout as Sonic the Hedgehog does to Super Mario Bros. The closest thing that I've seen to an actual Wipeout clone would be Antigrav Racing Championship on the Xbox 360; it's basically Wipeout Fusion with the hexagonal HUD motif from Wipeout HD, the colorful "rat-tail" exhaust flares from Wipeout 3, and two ships which look vaguely like the Qirex and Auricom. It also has no weapons, which is a shame, as the game is about as slow as the average kart-racer, and those games are only fun because of their weapons.

You forgot to mention the stellar Rock'n'Roll Racing for Genesis/SNES
    Anyway, great effort!

As I said, this is just the hovercraft section. Rock 'n' Roll Racing is in the section for wheeled vehicles.

How so? The point of the original topic was to find "WipEout clones (PC/Consoles)"; I listed all such games that I knew.

I suppose because the 'original' can't be a clone of itself, and neither can something created before the 'original' be a clone of said 'original'.

In that case, then, I shouldn't have bothered with posting any of these, because the only one that could possibly be considered a "clone" of Wipeout is Antigrav Racing Championship. I had assumed that XpanDrome2097 wanted to know about games in the futuristic hovercraft-racing genre, considering that he listed HoverAce, a game that he described himself as "totally different from WipEout games", as an example of what he was looking for.

Consider this hypothetical situation: XpanDrome2097 asks about "Star Wars clones (movies/short films)" and lists Alien, Blade Runner, and The Fifth Element as examples of what he's looking for. I then post a link to the sci-fi section of IMDb, because he's obviously looking for sci-fi in general, and not actual clones of Star Wars itself (for example, Starcrash). Is my post off-topic because IMDb's sci-fi section includes movies made before 1977?

Besides, this doesn't even pretend to be a "list of all scifi racing games", as the topic title says. It's just the ones that resemble Wipeout in that they involve ground-based hovercraft. When I finish the actual list, I'll post it here - in its own topic, of course - but I wouldn't have even bothered with this bit except as an aid in XpanDrome2097's quest for futuristic racing games.

it would definitely be cool to compile a list of sci-fi, or even just futuristic, racing games... the genre in a vague sense is actually a point of interest for me, and influences my purchase decisions.

    Jet Moto series - PSX
San Francisco Rush series (San Fran Rush, Rush 2, Rush 2049) - arcade, PSX, Saturn

    Outrun 2019 - Genesis

I'm sure there are others Im forgetting that I actually even own, but everything is packed away atm.

THERE is another thread somewhere with a complete (at the time) list of futuristic racing games, very long.

The one at NeoGAF? It was far from complete, and it included loads of games that had nothing to do with racing apart from having roads. You know that there's something wrong with a list of racing games when it includes Mach Rider.

In fact, that thread was the reason for my list in the first place. If there has to be a definitive list of sci-fi racing games out there, the least that it can do is be a definitive list of sci-fi racing games.
